I got the chance to play Jason Becker's original white Hurricane guitar that was seen on the cover of Cacophony's "Speed Metal Symphony" and used to record Perpetual Burn and had to attempt a little excerpt from Perpetual Burn to honor Jason. This one-of-a-kind original shred history guitar is going up for auction to pay for Jason's lifetime of ALS medical expenses, so myself and many other musicians are playing it to raise awareness. This horrific disease could happen to any of us.
To bid on this guitar on July 14-15 go to: guernseys.com/v2/century_music...
For more information on Jason Becker or the guitar auction please go to www.JasonBecker.com
Jeff and Chris need to do a Cacophony medley!
Yes
100%
EXACTLY !!!!!
Yes
Damn that would be awesome
Naked with no backing tracks. Respect.
C'mon some of you mega rich rock stars . Chip in and and just buy the guitar and give it back to Jason .
Idk but I think Jason wants the guitar to be played rather than just hung up in his home
Man, before you criticize you should know that a lot of people in the world of rock and metal are creating a fundraising for him. Have your facts straight up.
@@javiergarcia1149 ya and the amount raised so far is pathetic....no fault of the organizers....i think his point is that some musicians out there are wealthy enough to solve Jason's money problem without him having to sell his legacy.
I don't understand there's so many wealthy people with music as hobby or even wealthy musicians . If I'm one of them I'll sponsor Jason for his medical without even buying the guitar. May I'll lend it for some times though n return back :)
@@elitejams His legacy is his music not his instrument, he also inspired and continues to inspire new and seasoned guitarists, his guitar/s were merely the tools he used to express his personality, creativity, musical genus and technical skill.
There are many things of personal value or novelty items of different genres and categories that are sold off at fundraising events simply to raise money for it's foundation, you should know this.
Paul Stanley of Kiss Donated one of his Ibanez guitars towards the Jason Becker Virtual Fundraiser and many more musicians are offering their time and resources such as Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather, Mark Tremonti, John Petrucci, Kiko Loureiro, Tosin Abasi, Nita Strauss, Orianthi, Devin Townsend, Dave Ellefson, Michael Angelo Batio, Guthrie Govan, Tim Henson, Alex Skolnick, Albert Lee, Matt Heafy, Zoltan Bathory, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, Andy Timmons, George Lynch, Steve Stevens, Satchel (Steel Panther), John 5, Gus G, Jeff Loomis, Nili Brosh, Jason Richardson, The Dooo (CZcams), Jared Dines, Ola Englund, Steve Terreberry (StevieT on CZcams), Tyler Larson (Music is Win on CZcams), Cole Rolland, Thomas McRocklin, Rusty Cooley, Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Sam Totman, Chris Broderick, Lari Basilio, Sophie Lloyd, Kiki Wong, Federico Mondelli and Fabiola Bellomo (Frozen Crown), Alex Lee (Holy Grail), Stevie Salas, Elliot Easton, Bruce Bouillet, Mika Tyyska, Daniel Dekay, N&M Creation (CZcams).
Doesn't matter how big or how little they give, at least these musicians are making an effort to give something and they're not doing it for the fame or exposure or any compensation, they're simply doing it for the love, support and respect they have for each other as musicians and you forget, all of us including these musicians and their families are recovering from the 2020 pandemic and are no doubt aware with finances and yet they still donate.
You're looking at it all wrong, what ever the amount raised it is not pathetic, it is a gift... nobody is blaming the organisers but it seems you've taken it upon yourself to blame the entire music community because of your own personal selfish disappointment.
Broderick the perfect guitarrist
That was THE CLEANEST cover of that piece I've ever heard. And that tone... OMG, why does it sound so amazing!?
You should watch Jeff Loomis' version
@@GordonHeaney I saw the cover Loomis did way before I saw this. His playthrough was superb, but Chris's tone here is on another level.
@@GordonHeaney Gusdrax from Suicidal Angels does the best cover by far, he also did an amazing Altitudes cover 8 years ago. Go check out Gusdrax he's an incredible guitarist 💯🤘🙏
@@devvilboyy676767 Gusdrax blows both versions by Loomis and Broderick out the water by the way, go check it out as well as his Altitudes cover. Gus is on another level 💯🤘🙏
Smooth like butter.. unreal.. thats not a human thats a robot
Jason is a living legend.I can't imagine the music hed have out by now and the incredible concerts..god bless him man
Thanks Chris.
Fantastic that you guys are doing this for Jason!
If I had the money I'd buy it then give it back. It's sad that this needs to happen in the worlds richest country. Huge love to Jason.
Trust me I have thought of the same exact thing and with all of his guitars he has been selling
For some bizzare reason, Americans seem to think that a universal/national health system, paid by taxes, is equivalent to being invaded by communists. I never understood despite living in the US for several years. It's a shame.
@@InternetUser-d7s As long as the health-care system in the USA is "for profit".... everyone will continue to get screwed.
Amazing as always Chris!!!! And such a great cause!!!!!
Thank you sir for helping out a hero of mine who needs it... Keep him known!!!!
Thanks for the great demo and prayers sent up for Jason!!!
Jason is a treasured artist.
Thank you Chris for your amazing talent!..
Chris, you are an amazing musician. It warms my heart to see you help Jason and his family like you do while showing us fellow guitarists how it’s done. You truly are a great man!
Awesome cover, such a technical masterpiece I will never forget when I first heard that album I was blown away.
Always happy to support Jason any way I can :)
This made my day...ive always wondered what happened to that guitar!...glad to see its still with us
Beautifully played Chris!
Love that it's pure guitar sound with no backing track. Cheers from Brazil.
You are a very good person. Very decent of you to help promote Jason Becker’s trust for his medical care. It was also awesome to see Perpetual Burn played on that guitar again.
Awesome Chris!
This gave me intense chills!!!! Beautiful performance and axe!!
Love it ..... thanx ....
Amazing playing Chris
One guitar god paying tribute to another, you love to see it
Donated. Thanks Chris for making this video and thank you Jason for inspiring so many guitarists.
Outstanding outrageous and out of my level for sure. Brilliant maestro
Thanks for sharing. It breaks my heart that Jason has to sell his guitars. You’re a class act Chris.
My fav jason becker song . Amazing work 🤘🤘🤘
Really awesome playing....... It's great to see the love among all fellow guitarists. ❤️🌎🎸
Thanks!
Jason's music is always such a pleasure to listen to! He deserves all the support in the world
It’s such a shame the production on the Cacophony album is so bad. I wonder if there was a way to remix it so his and Marty’s playing stand out above the noise.
@@michaelemley7318 totally agree, the sound on the Cacophony production could be better, what a shame!
wooooow one of my favorite guitar man!!! plays becker!! nevermore!!!🤘🏿🤘🏿🔥🔥🔥
Great Jason Becker!
Love and light to Jason and his family and also to Chris! Great job Chris on learning that passage, I mean…Jason was what like 17 when he wrote that?? Insane insane insane musical prodigy. That album will forever be my favorite guitar instrumental of all time. I can’t wait until ALS is no longer a debilitating disease. Only a matter of time.
Dude I can’t believe I totally missed your time in megadeth! You are a master!
I second that...I blv that the guitar works in Endgame is absolutely top class and very underrated
my personal favourite also, the jake e lee of megadeth
I got Megadeth to know when Chris was still in the band. So sad that I was too young and I didn't get to know like I do now
I've been lucky enough to see him play for both Megadeth and Act Of Defiance. The dude was a completely wasted talent in Megadeth and it shows
Endgame
Chris... you’re a machine...
Congratulations, Jason Becker is the most technical guitarist of all time!
he sure is up there with shawn lane and AH in terms of technique
mmm nope, he was godlike, but today guys like Gutrie Govan, Michael Romeo, Marshall Harrison and Jason Richardson are even above him
@@joseandresramosgiron6444 With 19 years old these guitarists mentioned did not play 1/10000 that Json Becket played, and none of them did a more technical and feeling work like Perpetual Burn
@@edymbhify I agree to disagree... Don't get me wrong.. Jason is fantastic but Guthrie is in a whole different level...
@@baltazarcarlos6829 Yes, but Guthrie at Becker's age didn't have the same level and technique, a fair comparison would be if Becker was playing until today, Guthrie didn't do anything superior in technique regarding felling to be compared to Perpetual Burn until today.. .
Chris is insanely talented, but INSANELY. Love you mate
Awesome Chris! 🤘🔥
You're such an unbelievably good guy Chris. I can't believe you only have 2k subscribers. Your time in Megadeth is criminally underrated. For me, out of the entire Megadeth canon that solo from this is how the story ends, is among the greatest full stop.
I'd actually love to see Kiko try it and it seems like you'd like him. Why don't you reach out with a CZcams challenge to him? Marty might even be down for something like that, it'd be funny.
I guess some of the proceeds would go to Jason as well. I've heard recently his parents are getting frail and he needs full time care. He deserves to be celebrated and live comfortably and not wait until he's fondly remembered when he's gone.
Love ya Chris
I have one word for your playing.....RESPECT!
Love it 🔥
Esse cara é um dos monstros da guitarra
Awesome!
great!
Mon musicien préféré! Merci Mr Broderick.
Awesomeness 🤘🏻 😊 ♥️
Awesome
Spirit of jason becker at thats guitar
I like your touch on that string 👍
This Jason did it all 😁 love his album 😍🤘😁
My Dad passed away from ALS a little more than a year ago. It’s amazing anyone could live with that condition, it is horrifying. Also our medical system is very disappointing.
Done!
I always found it incredible how Chris can step into other guitarist's shoes and sound just like them.
lol no he sounds like himself
I have the Jackson Chris Broderick signature and the Chris Broderick Pick Clip all I can say is buy one their both outstanding and very good design
Yeeeea Chris!
Chris makes it look so effortless. Everything he does looks so easy to him.
Whenever I watch chris play I realize I will never be good at guitar no matter what I do. Everyone has a genetic ceiling and no amount of 10 hour a day woodshedding is gonna make me play this well. I tried for over 20 years.
Yeah you’re right. You should quit
Great
Master 🤘🏻👏🏻🇧🇷
太好听啦!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Marty friedman and you need to do the Cacophony..
Love you both..
And no one never play like you in Megadeath.
If Randy Rhoads would have lived, I could see he would have been doing things like this. Seeing him live in 82' before he died reminded me of this type of tone and feel if he would have came upon the 3 octave sweep arpeggios.
it's beginning... heartbreaking 😑😔😢💔
Master
I saw Nita Strauss playing this same song for Jason Becker in his bedroom and she played it flawlessly all the way through. I would expect that from Broderick but not from Nita
you rule, that shiz hard af
Amazing little cover. Becker is one of the GOATs
Amazing my dude! Subbed!
🤘
메가데스 멤버일때 부터 플레이를 듣고 있습니다 정말 대단합니다 당신은 엄청난 연주자 입니다
0:01 man these sweeps sound exactly like the studio version!
Looks like sweep picking to me.
💯💯💯
Nice Chris, this song is very dificulta, but Made very well 🤟
Jason is the man and damn!, Chris Broderick has a channel?? Hell yes, top one of the top 10 guitar players of all time for me 👀
Holy crap, that's impressive, even more impressive given you are playing it with a thumbpick
imagine him playing that with toothpcik
Imagine him playing that with an ice pick.
Imagine him playing that with a pick
Lol
Imagine him playing that
Had a hurricane guitar many years ago . It was a quality instrument
Had a Floyd rose on it too .
💯
Brasil Brasil
Play the end!
Killer
🖤🤘
This guy has a cool tune he did with George lynch my true guitar hero growing up
Mine too. Still love him
i agree with jonathan 2 comments below mine. super wealthy artists from all genres should help Jason and just give him the money. let him keep the guitars. it is sad how selfish people are. Jason is a true inspiration and musical genius with fantastic family...
A betcha can’t play this by Jason by Chris. Great
I prefeer jeff loomis cover. Its amazing
Chris, at your 51 you look better than me at 48. Shitte!
Must be the awesome playing that keeps you young
Top demais ,pena q só dá pra dá um like

Habla causa
Hi,你真棒!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where is the full version of the video please!!!
HEY brother could you share some insights on that type of pick for shred? I got carpal tunnel and grabbing the pic for alternate has become a tiring process. thanks!!!
Hi Chris, when will there be a new studio album of Act of Defiance?
Chris and Brandon Ellis have to do a shred tour together!!!….🤙😎🤘
is amazing to see very technical players struggling with the difficult parts. Just how good was jason back then?
Idk I see this as pretty fucking clean given the fact this is straight from the signal, no eq-ing and no effects slapped on it. Chris is a beast
This man shreds with a thumb pick.
Chris is a monster on the git-fiddle
