Most badass Goblin ever.
Yes
It’s a reasonable excuse

@@raptor2663 what he said
Imagine if the goblins took a side during the second wizardry war it would have been a game changer for any side.
Ken Peck luckily they have no reason to. In fact they have reason not to. I mean, if I was a goblin and wizards were warring with each other, I’d be sitting back and laughing my ass off as my enemies kill each other and I just keep making money off them both.

I've often wondered why goblins, being masters of metalworking, didn't turn to athmaies (magical dagers) as a loophole in the rules against them having wands.
Except for the king trying to cheat Griffindor out of the sword I actually feel bad for them but I think they should have left a disclosure if they really felt the object they sold was intended to go back to them.

Reminds me of the Silmarillion where dwarves are paid to make a jewel for the elves but decide to keep it and then act like the victims.
Wasn't that also included in the hobbit movies?
@@rc59191 That's different. The dwarves betrayed and killed the elves in the Silmarillion. In the movies Thror was being petty and insulting, but they never came to blows.

Love this and it explains why goblins look at wizards like they had spits on their faces
Haha this should get more attention.
Griphook didn't betray the trio, he did exactly what was asked and promised. We didn't know you had to perfectly word a deal with a Goblin.
Also, Harry was never going to give him the real sword in the first place because they needed it. Harry had every intention of screwing him over.

Dude, I really love your vids. I’m a really big Harry Potter and Hunger Games fan and I’ve always enjoyed watching your theories and extra info that fills in a lot of holes in those worlds. Thanks for doing all this because not only it’s entertaining, but it also helps us fans discover and learn about our favorite novels
THANK YOU so much for this!!! Very helpful for the up coming game!!!
Anybody else feel like the more we learn about wizard history, the more we see that wizards acted like a-holes toward all other magical creatures?
Yeah, wizard supremacy ideology.
Ya i mean its basically an allegory for how england has treated people for centuries. Everyone from the irish to the australians
In a way Goblin defiance is admirable. Most other magical creatures (giants, centaurs, house elves, etc) essentially submit to wizarding control because they don’t have the power, or the will to oppose Wizardkind.
But the goblins would not have it! Goblins have no problem standing up for themselves, and have they means to fight back.
That’s why in the current time period. Goblins have their own liaison office at the ministry. While none of the other magical beings have nothing of the sort.
Well yeah, it’s pretty explicit that the wizards can be extremely racist in Harry Potter
They discriminated goblins and werewolves.
"Have you ever heard the tragedy of the Goblion Rebellions? It's not a story the Wizards would tell you."
The dislike is from Godric Gryffindor.
He has been exposed

@@julzz5233 But in a community post a few months ago, he said he'd cover the life of Ron.. So.. Yeah.
Now he did Go watch out
I find it hard to believe that Godric would be ignorant of goblin customs. He just ignored them.
Where did the bit about the goblin king going back on a deal come from? Because I was always fond of the idea of conflict coming from goblins having simply a different idea of ownership, where they believed that a wizard or witch could only buy ownership of an object for their life. That it is not how we understand it, but probably should respect their customs as a trade off for a goblin made item, and wizards/witches having taken advantage of them.
It kind of feels like the continued characterisation of trying to make every good guy Griffindor, and trying to make sure Godric is made a flawless person. Rather than someone who took advantage of something and not realize it was not cool.
these videos have seriously rekindled my love of the HP series thanks for all the hard work you do to making these videos great! Nice work :)
How can someone think about so many things at the same time JK wrote about the wizarding world, the quidditch history, Goblins , Harry's past his present and 19 years later I mean I just don't understand how she is a genius ☺
Maybe its real and shes actually Hermione.
Then she ruins it with her recent retcon bs
actually, The Cursed Child shows a non-canon alternate timeline, but in the end, that timeline was erased and Delphini was imprisoned. I still don't fully approve of Delphini's conception but JK certified it canon. Nothing we can do.
@@PanamanianMan317 you can just you know consider it not cannon she didn’t write it.

The amount of information that was put into this video is incredible. I wonder just how long it took to make this!
Love this video Morgan..I always loved reading about godric's involvement in the goblin war..great to see it so well portrayed in a video :)
Thanks Dean!
I only had 2 criticism of the Harry Potter series the first was the limited use of the many magical creatures( especially the creatures with near human intelligence)in the main plot as they were used as plot convince when needed as doby helping Harry and the centurs kidnapping umbridge etc as they were used when needed and had no effect on the story when they weren’t as if they didn’t exist
second was the lack of explanation of the magical capabilities like what is possible where is the limit and what made a wizard powerful or weak which wasn’t clear and JK telling the readers who was strong and who was weak was evidence that the readers wouldn’t be able to knew it themselves as the rules wasn’t clear
I know this minor issues and kinda of nitpicking but as one of the best books ever written it’s fair to criticize the small details as the books were nearly flawless
great video dude i didn't know about a lot of the history of the goblin wars i just knew of them. thank you.
Yo ive understood so many stuff just because of you

Not really. it's not confirmed if Goblins are gay or transsexual.
U r gay

You should be more respectful i think
The good thing about the Rebellion is that it shows that both sides had good and bad reasons for doing so.
Yes the Goblins were greedy, and lied about Godric having stolen the sword, but wizards are no better in the way that they demeaned Goblins, and treated them as 2nd Class Citizens.
But even then, how hard would it be for godric to have the sword returned to them after his death?
@@goldietheswagbear8288 Depends on how much we know about Godric and whether he'd have been generous enough to give back the sword after he died.
i’d treat someone like a 2nd class citizen if they were so mean to me too💀
@@willow9216 It wasn't just about being mean though, I think these prejudices ran long before the sword incident.

Finally a video filled with content not in the main 7 books. Thank you. This is what the channel should be doing. No summarizing the story we all already know pretty damn well.
Such great lore. Thanks!

They could have threatened to expose wizarding world to muggles, since Goblins aren't unique to Britain. After all, Goblins are potentially superior to human wizards. They can use wandless magic, which is enough.

This video was so awesome!
So... wizards are terrible is what I’m getting from this
Basically. The Fountain of Magical Brethren, in the eyes of a dense human, would show that all magical beings are equals. But to anyone actually looking, it shows how humans have an inflated sense of self-worth and how they believe al other intelligent magical beings are in awe of them. Which isn't true.
Wizards are human so
Nah, because there are a lot of great wizards. Essentially like in real life, bureaucracy is BS and the enemy of the people and their liberty and freedom, and in this case magical creatures as well, since again like in real life Bureaucracy it leads to totalitarianisms, and authoritarianism which has become the Modus Operandi of the Ministry of Magic. which I think Rowling may have put more than a litter of her disdain for the authoritarian British government into when she thought it up.
Well not exactly . It actually shows that goblins re really greedy creatures. For example when that goblin who made griffindor's sword thought the the sword was his because it was he who made it but actually it belonged t griffindor because he ordered the goblin to make .
No the goblins are terrible. They started it all by lying in the first place.
I suggest a video about The Dark Days from Hunger Games!
Doichie Faskie Guadalupana Del Sol Pitt oh yeah!! That’d be awesome!!!

Its an unpopular opinion i think but for me philosopher's stone was one of if not my favourite and the best potter book and movie. Purely because i felt like i was being introduced to a new world and i could easily see myself in Harry's shoes. The other books just became less believable as they went on. ( not sure if what i said made any bit of sense really)(sorry) i mean its more believable and relatable to an extent. Except for the whole magic and genocidal sorcerer bit.
Anyway cheers mate.
