I got the PC version of this for 99 cents at Gamestop ages ago and THAT version is actually and unappreciated gem, IMHO.
Forrealz, I also only have memories of the PC version as well, and I don't remember the enemies being dumb _at all,_ that game encouraged using team tactics and punishing a "run and gun" Rambo style. Definitely liked that you weren't invincible or had a health bar, one or two hits could kill you or a team member if you fvcked up, further pushing for a more careful approach at assaults and making use of all of your limited gear.
Sure, it might be dated now compared to the AI in Arma or Stalker, but that game wasn't a disaster like the PS2 version they're playing, lmao.
9:32 was absolute gold
It's felt like a while since we got a true, iconic WGE moment and that first enemy in the doorway just shot into the top 5.
After all these terrible games, I think this is the first time one's broken them down into hysterics in the first ten minutes.
Between 9:34 and it all ending at 10:11 has to be one of the greatest moments in this series 😂😂

i thought tom clancy was alredy dead by the time this game was being produced. ubisoft just bought the naming rights and slaps his name onto anything they deem tactical.

It's the attention to detail and hardcore realism that really set the early Tom Clancy games apart.
Tom Clancy was directly involved with Red Storm which is why his name’s stamped all over their games!

The PC version of The Sum of All fears is superb. The textures are 4k resolution.
I remember playing this on PC. It uses a bunch of assets and character models from the original Ghost Recon. The thing is, Ghost Recon came out before this and had for the time really big maps so the low poly models were far more forgivable and much less noticeable. This did indeed look like crap at the time. Enemies were way more dangerous in Ghost Recon compared to this, maybe just because they also used the same AI which functioned a lot better in open environments compared to close quarters stuff where they're kinda too dumb to deal with things like doors.

While The Sum of All Fears is not the greatest of games on PC, it is far better than the console port, which has a significantly neutered AI, dumbed down in order to compensate for lack of keyboard controls, and for fears of the game killing the player too quickly and scaring off a wider audience. So you get hilarious bits like at 9:50.

@@Farlox201115 Shit man, I'm not that big of a gamer myself, so I won't be much of a help - look up Counterstrike or Tactical Ops, they're more of a shooter type of thing instead of a tactical one,. but maybe they're what you're looking for.
You should see Transformers The Game's end credits where they I shit you not horribly misspelled the name of the Arbiter himself, Keith David. They spelled it as Kieth David. Bet he's really happy about that one.

7:03 was this really only available in Europe for the PS2??? I used to have a copy of Ghost Recon for the PS2 that had a trailer for this and XIII (I’m from all the way in Ohio 😂) so it’s seems so bizarre to me that there would be a trailer for a game that I would likely never be able to buy!

Sometimes regions where a game actually wasn't released might have gotten lucky as in "This one specific store decided to import because it seemed like they would sell enough to compensate for the importing fee" and so a few copies might end up in those regions still :)

Honestly the Sum of All Fears is really a great game, if you want a bad tactical shooter I suggest you try The Regiment or even worst Take Down.
