  • Back on New Years Eve, I was headed to an Advanced route not too far from me to see if I could find and film one of their trucks with the new WM stickers on them, however on my way I noticed a whole bunch of brand new Parks cans along some of the side streets while driving through Mount Holly. I figured Advanced lost yet another contract, which wasn't a surprise, and figured they kept collection day the same as before, so being that I was there on a Friday, and collection was always on Mondays, I didn't really bet on finding anything. Little to my surprise, after going up and down a few streets, and finding lots of carts out to the street, I stumbled upon this truck. Parks is owned by Apple Valley Waste, which is based in West Virginia, and also has operations in Maryland, Virginia and the D.C. area. This truck was sent up from Apple Valley's main site in West Virginia. I'm not sure if its here to stay, or was just sent up to be borrowed, because I know Parks was renting a few trucks from Premier due to the amount of work they've been winning from Advanced. It's kind of easy to tell where this truck previously resided, as the yellow paint wearing through on the body, and unique strobes and AC unit give it away, but this is an ex San Antonio, Texas unit. I caught him right at the end of his route, and missed recycle all together, but now that I know they're in there Friday mornings, I'll definitely be back to see what else they'll send through. This also happened to be the very first day of the contract, so the driver was trying to learn the area.
Big thanks goes out the the driver for not minding me get a little video!

Nice video! Great to see where one of San Antonio’s old Pythons ended up! The red paint looks really nice too!

Nice find! That color combo looks pretty nice and the yellow arm adds something extra to it too. This particular unit sounded pretty nice as well, and i thought it was interesting that they bought Sierra’s for one stream and Otto’s for the other but they do look sharp. Wouldn’t mind another video or two from that contract!

Thank you! I found this truck by complete surprise, and had no idea they even ran here. A few companies here that buy Sierra buy Ottos for 35 gallon carts, not sure if it’s because Sierra doesn’t market their own 35 or if the 35 sierras are just junk.
