Wanted to say thanks. I had started to learn Premier almost 3 years ago, had some frustrations and never ended up successfully editing any of my accumulated content. I decided I had to finally just get a video out or I would never do it, I watched your tutorial and powered out a 11 minute multicam video in about 5 hours of editing learning it from scratch as I went. Your series here was invaluable.
This was an excellent mini series! Thank you!
I hope you have much success on your channel!
Glad to hear you found it helpful. Thanks for taking the time to let me know!
Great tuto! Thank You, helped me a lot!
I wish you would've mentioned that you need to use the Unmix function to be able to view the different angles once you open them in the timeline.
I'd love to see you do a more in depth tutorial on multicam color grading where you have more angle edits and you're showing how you really work on matching them. Lighting conditions can be so different from different angles, even after you've got the color science matched. In practice is it easier to just get a color checker card up and start there?
That right there was the comment that I needed. I have already done a mix and chopped it all up and then I wanted to adjust the colour. It was a pain because I was stuck for time I just selected each time I used that camera and adjusted it.
Great tutotrial, clear and efficient! Thnak you very much. I was wondering how can I convert a splitted audio track as you show at the end to a stereo track? We end up with one left and one right channel linked but i would like to convert then into two stereo tracks. Thank you inadvance for your reply.
I've watched about 12hrs of people explaining multi cam including black magic. You make all of them seem a little prosumer not even close to pro. Its nice to see a real pro at work. It's both inspirational & disappointing at the same time. On one hand you got so many that think they know getting 100k views just spreading the stupidity fluidly. So it makes me question if its even possible to you tube on my knowledge and get any views much like what I just viewed (I also have issues singing & dancing). On the other hand you put it out there with disregard of the outcome. Very inspirational indeed gl on your journey. I will post my 1000+ cut 3 cam video garbage before & after your influence. Be advised people if you've started your journey into multi cam edits your in good hands, if not hit reset in that brain of yours and start at Part 1 of this series...
Thanks for this, I really appreciate when someone sees what I am trying to do. I've had comments about being a "Dead Channel" because of the slow growth I have but I've always had the attiude that I would rather build the right audience slowely than the wrong audience quickly. I don't do this for acknoledgment but I am human and I do get flattered when someone like you take the time. Thank you!
Nice explanation - I"'m wondering what workflow you would use if you have 2 cameras (each with stereo audio) + 2 stereo audio tracks when it comes to multi-cam? I typically create a BUS in the original timeline and mix volumes/EQ, but when I create a multi-cam clip, the BUS mix disappears and only the original audio tracks are there.
Is there a way to have the Multiview preview on an external monitor. I can’t quiet find the right settings. Maybe you know something.
@ 7:30 you said "come back out" How do you come back out from the timeline view you were in to color grade the footage??
Yo! That node tree is insane. Usually something similar or is that an exception?
That’s a fixed node tree structure that I use on almost everything but it’s a little misleading. Firstly I’m a node per parameter kind of guy, secondly it accommodates almost any adjustment I might make but often only 4 or 5 of the nodes might only be used on a shot. I’ve graded whole projects with that tree and only used less than half of the nodes.
