Great video. I never knew there were silver threepences until recently, I only knew of the later multi sided ones. But my Mum found a bag of the old silver ones and I was amazed at how small they were. Some of the really old ones were so worn they looked like little silver tiddlywinks.
That's a trip down memory lane 😀 No idea on prices but I'd say you have got more value than the purchase price. By the time my memory started the silver thruppenny bit had disappeared & as had the farthing. My Dad used to remark that with a shilling in the late 30's you could buy a gallon of petrol or 20 Player's cigarettes: how times change.

Silver threepenny bits were put in Christmas puddings and (sweet) birthday fruit dumplings, wrapped in greaseproof paper.

In South Africa all shillings and six / three pence were 80% silver pre 1950 after only 50%
Quite interesting to hear UK silver content
The 1953 half crown has no bag marks on it , so probably came from a coin set.
They took out the remaining silver to pay back the USA for lend/lease etc. The Americans kept silver in their coinage until 1964
58 Darwen Street, Blackburn. On GSV looks like it was a William Hill bookmakers in recent times.

Just watching now and I am jealous...
Watch the 1964 and 1965 sixpences... there are two different varieties on each date, obverse 3 (rare on 1965) and obverse 4 (scarce on 1964). Look at the last A in Gratia, points to a gap in the beads on obverse 3 and to a bead on obverse 4. I'm looking at these right now so might have to do a video on them.

Depends on what a british pound is worth compaired to todays Canadian dollar you might be under value the silver content coins if you are pricing them at silver melt value
I picked up a bag of 24 pennies that are from 1909 to 1940. I will post a video on it Tuesday... but do you think they may have value?

I purchased a 1806 George III half penny and its pretty good condition for 2 pound is that worth it.. or did i loose 2 quid?
£2 is a very good price for a 1806 half penny
