Dobbs, is there anywhere to get that Suicune shirt that your avatar wears?
11:39 excuse me but where magcar-go?
11:38 what about magcargo in the generation before?
hey dobbs, you probably understand this now but, Sudowoodo is petrified tree, they are made of rock
Firstly, I know that Dobbs is kidding. Sudowoodo is rock type instead of grass type, because it has the word "sudo" (pseudo) in it's name, which means fake. So it's fake wood
Yeah and the pokedex tells us ITS A ROCK STRUCTURE PRETENDING TO BE A TREE
@@zebcraft9460 Yes
Okay...thatâs a little weird
im shocked dobbs doesnt know this
Dobbs probably is Just joking
"Torkoal should've been the first Fire-Rock type, not Carkol."
Magcargo: Am I a joke to you?
Haven't checked yet but I think macgargo is Rock-Fire not Fire-Rock but eh doesn't really matter
Lmao I thought of this as well and quickly came to see if someone said this.
Well he is a joke to mysticumbreon lol
@@dodgesabiniano5835 Carkol is Rock-Fire so that doesnât explain it, Dobbsâ knowledge of Pokemon is just very insufficient
Lol
5:30 Fun fact: in the demo for Ruby and Sapphire, Taillow was a pure flying type
I just donât understand why Taillow stayed a pure Flying type instead of being changed to a Normal and Flying type
@@carlas178 But it is Normal and Flying :)
normal-flying is not a bad combo anyways, as it still have 3 weakness as a pure flying but got one immunity to ghost
Actually, Lucario's name comes from a rearrangement of the first syllables of "orichalcum", a magical metal, in Japanese.
Dragonair: I get his points, but I'd argue for water type. The entire line is associated with water. They are even used as the mermaid part on the front of ships. Same argument for Lugia, should have been water type
i disagree. i feel like they already answer those questions with their move pools. most of the types in question have moves that cover their expected typing. it makes it so typing is deeper than what moves a pokémon can learn and that their is actually genetics involved. i like that lugia is psychic flying type that controls the seas. the psychic powers explains its ability to do so more than just simply being a water/flying type would. it being able to learn water type moves is enough to explain that technically it IS a water type within its genetics but not a water type in its overall typing.
Hecc Dragonite can learn surf
I think the type thing is screwed up too. I mean emboar a fire ground type? It would make Oshawot OP and the fire type would have a weakness to grass despite its typing. Blastoise can't be a steel type because in gen 1 steel wasn't a type and it would be too op and lose its weakness against venesaor. We all know why charizard shouldn't be a dragon type. Tyflosion could be a fire normal, but not a pure normal.
@@waspshower I'm pretty sure he was just joking about the typlosion being normal type. ( I think )He was making fun about the fact the game animators didn't animate his flames despite saying that the pokemon's flames are constantly burning in battle in ita pokedex.
@@NightScaped I know this is a joke, I'm just saying.
âLuxray learns a bunch of dark type moves naturally and via tmâ

trapinch is obviously an ant

4:44 also sudowoodo is rock type because Sudo comes of pseudo meaning fake
Dude doesn't do that much research. This is why I rarely watch his content
Sudowoodo: "Pseudo" means false, so its name means "False Wood".
Incineroar: Based on heel wrestlers, wrestlers known for dirty underhanded tactics.
Incineroar: Can destroy a Sudowoodo just by throwing it in water or something lol.
What about lucario being a steel type as its name is derived from name of a metal in Japanese
The word is probably orichalcum
Ah. Dark Fire Fighting then. I'm sure that there's a Hidden Typing like the way there's a Hidden Ability.
Eg. Bug Poison *Flying* Dustox.

Bidoof the god!
No only one is godly and that one is Arceus.
Arceus the god!
@@SubIfYouFounMyComment No. I am not your "son" and the only "god" that can exist is Arceus. Bidoof is just a weak beaver that people like for whatever reason. Welp for Sudowoodo being a rock is kinda strange but it makes sense, since itâs PokĂ©dex entry says itâs supposed to resemble a fake tree.
Edit: I realized that he already knows that and he was joking about that lol
it's petrified wood, wood that has fossilized and become rock
@@Deedoo_r wait...what? đ
The name Sudowoodo comes from âSudoâ meaning fake and âwoodoâ meaning wood so if you put it together you get âfake woodâ
Plus the name Sudowoodo is the words combination of Pseudo, which mean fake, and woodo which mean wood. So basically Sudowoodo mean FakeWood
Its a tree stand in, or psudo wood. I feel no shame for being smart.
It is good that Chansey isn't a fairy type. If Fairy typing turns a forgettable and weak pokemon like Clefable into one of the best pokemon in OU, imagine Chansey and Blessing with Fairy typings.
More weaknessess tho but gets 3 imunities
Chansey Would Be AG Tier ( I Know It Will Be Ubers If That Happens But Yeah )
Someone mentioned it, but I'm inclined to disagree. Fairy typing only adds weakness. You really want your dazzling gleam to get a STAB boost sure, but...it's a Blissey. Hits for less then a toddler on the best days anyway. It's a blubber wall that's supposed to be a blubber wall. More weaknesses make it worse.
@@darreldorigatti862 Only 2 weakness. But it will get neutrality to Fighting, resistances to dark, bug and Immunity to Dragon. Moreover, there are only 2 good physical Poison moves; Poison Jab and Gunk shot but there are not many good physical Poison mons. Steel may give it trouble but again only 1 good common Steel physical move, Iron Head. So yes, it will be a lot more problematic.
@@rfreakingd8992 What about Iron Tail or Steel Wing? Those are good physical Steel-Type moves and Iron Tail is really good despite having 75 accuracy. Pokémon*
If the left side lists their official typing, you listed parasect as a pure bug type instead of bug and grass
Doing this just for fun:
-Girafarigâs whole thing is that the two heads communicate telepathically. Other than that, itâs a normal giraffe
-Parasect is still a bug and mushrooms are more associated with grass instead of poison
-Grapploct is most likely based on octopus wrestling where a person would dive into the sea and try to wrestle an octopus out of the water. So Grapploct is a literal octopus wrestler that fights on land
-Dragonair I guess could work but itâs more associated with water
-Heliolisk should have been a part dragon or ground type but I suppose solar panels are pretty normal in everyday life
-Blastoise should of been steel. Especially the mega
-Nosepass and Probopass should have been a rock-electric type in my opinion it works with an Easter island rock compass
-Slowpoke I would not call stupid more so unfocused and dazed out. Itâs psychic powers are too powerful to hold in its mind thus itâs always thinking
-Chansey could get fairy but healing is pretty normal already
-Aside from the edgy design and move pool, Luxray is just a x-ray lynx. Dark would be cool but Iâm fine with pure electric
-Sudowodoâs whole gimmick is that itâs a rock disguised like a tree to avoid water
-Emboar should of been a dark type in my opinion. Pigs are know for being gluttonous but fire ground can work too
-Agree Samurott should of been the fighting type
-This one is tricky because making Xerneas a grass type would balance out with Yveltal but Xerneas represents the gift of life rather than nature
-Swellow should of been pure flying
-Wait those are Pokémon?
-Itâs not like we have so many other bug flying types anyway so whatâs the big deal đ
-That would be great too. Ice rock mega glalie plz
-Hawaiians believed that the sun was made out of molten steel instead of fire but in my opinion it should of been a fire psychic type with steel attributes regardless
-Spearow and Fearow do look a lot more territorial that the pidgey line so it could work.
-Florges and itâs line are supposed to be supporters of the grass type and nature rather than purely being one. This mimics stereotypical fairies
- CharweezaRd I suppose was flying because a dragon type starter would be too confusing in the first generation
-Pumpkaboo and Gourgiest are parallels to the Trevenent line and are based of of Halloween. Grass Ghost works.
-Arceus is only normal because it can change into every other type. A god PokĂ©mon with no strengths doesnât sit right with me personally
-Incineroar is based off of heel wrestlers. People often shown as bad guys that fight dirty and for being rebellious punks.
-Psyduck should of been part Psychic the only excuse was that there were so many other water/psychic Pokémon in gen 1
-I also agree with this. Ghost type can also work here since Ninetails is known for cursing spirits
-I donât like how in PokĂ©mon mushrooms are associated with the grass type instead of poison so I agree here
-Wow I always thought Shelmet was part steel type what the heck?
-Celebi is known for traveling across time but fairy can work too
-Arbok can work as a dark type especially how there is NO NATIVE DARK TYPE POKĂMON IN KANTO
- Noctowl can be psychic type but it overlaps with Xatu and Lugia
-Yes itâs mean but itâs a BUG it can maybe have dark coverage or a new ability like the dark type instead of being one
-I guess porygonâs line is normal because itâs not digital converting but when it is it has to be electric type. Normal electric is my best idea
-Grass fairy or Grass Fighting. Gardena can be either
-So you need to tell me that a Pokémon based on a bug, looks like a bug, and has a unique evolutionary cycle like a bug is NOT bug. Poor flygon now garchomp outclasses it. Flygon needs to have the bug typing to stand out.
-The only reason I can think of torkoal being pure fire is that being fire rock can butcher its competitive usage
-Yeah (man whatâs up with Gamefreak hating on dark/bug types)
-Lickylicky is supposed to be a chameleon with a human-like tongue as well as gluttonous people. Fairy could work but eating is normal
- Man what even is dunsparce? Itâs a flat snake yo-Kai as well as a literal bee-snake. Poison/ground is my best bet
-Aura could be seen as a combination between electromagnetic receptions and fighting spirit. I think Lucario is fine
-Solrock should of been rock/fire and lunatone should of been rock/fairy (the moonlight is associated with fairyâs all throughout mythos) enough said
-Jirachi looks metallic enough for me but fairy can work too
-Gengarâs line are based of of poisonous gasses being possessed by ghosts. The poison typing makes sense
- Misdreavus and Mismagius should have been ghost/fairy types.
-Yes Cresselia has heavy emphasis with the full moon which empowers fae creatures so fairy/psychic
-The Dark/Fairy type can be seen as a good yin-yang symposium which Absol is all about
-naw bro Iâm sticking with omanyte Iâm a Christian man :)
Took me a good hour to write this up if you read this thank you.
Solrock and lunatone not being psychic type would really cause problems for tate and liza.
I think the reason they didn't give Glalie rock typing was so it wouldn't become even weaker than it already is because of the ice typing
Ice and Rock is literally the worst type combination
About Girafarig.. the difect translation of its name in Japanese is "giraffe telekinesis'... and it's also a palindrome. So that too. And its not just Hawaiians believing that the sun is made of molten steel... Stars in general are more metal then fire, so.. Solgaleo having steel type, Jirachi too. Arceus is normal type because normal is the placeholder type. All moves that change their type are normal type.

Incineroar is a dark type because itâs based on the mexico boxing sport , basically thereâs like a âdark sideâ that breaks the rules while fighting , ik it has to do with fighting but yeah

Mexican boxing sport? Lucha Libre is more wrestling. You should watch Mucha Lucha or Nacho Libre

blastoise really couldnt be a steel type for 2 reasons (at least in gen 1):
a) steel is weak to fire, removing blastoise's fire resistance.
b) steel didnt exist in gen 1.
charizard can't be a dragon in gen 1, either because that would remove it's weakness to water.
also steel would negate blastoises weakness to venusaur. empoleon managed to pull off the water/steel combo successfully because torterra is grass/ground.

Dobbs: "Volbeat and Illumise should *DEFINETLY* be Bug and Flying types."
No, Dobbs. Volbeat and Illumise should be Bug and Electric types. They know Electric type moves, and they're based on fireflies.
That's a really good point! Thanks for changing my mind
I think it would have been cool to have one be electric (lightning bug) and the other be fire (firefly). It would have been a pretty unique combination, especially in that generation đ

@@dayandere2669 cause it gains wings but drapion still looks like big even Aaron a bug type Elite four uses drapion as his ace
hold on scorpions are arachnids too so still should be bug just like galvantula
You might want to look up what arthropods are.......that's a very broad term. It includes insects, arachnids, crustaceans, etc.
And also...bug has a few definitions. The scientific definition I believe just included insects. So going off of that....lots of bug type Pokemon shouldn't be bugs.
But the more common use of the word usually included anything that's similar to an insect. "creepy crawlies" if you know what I mean. So arachnids, worms, centipedes, etc. Including insects as well.
Also, Scorpions are arachnids. If you consider spiders to be bugs, then scorpions are also bugs
I'm a little disappointed that Gyarados and Pinchurchin weren't mentioned. Both are prime candidates for this list considering just how many moves they get from other typings. Heck, it took Gyarados 7 generations to get a decent Flying type move in Hurricane
I actually had the idea that Heliolisk should've been an electric ground type seeing how they are found in a deserty area along with hippopotas and sandile in the XY games. and they're seen in another dry spot in sword and shield just before you reach the fourth gym.
12:32 I disagree, there are 3 reasons why Lucario is probably a steel type. 1. The way it senses aura is like an insulator sort of like a steel rod that takes in electricity 2. The name Lucario is derived from Orichalcum, a mythical metal 3. The spikes are most likely made of steel
Thank you
Was gonna comment this myself.
@Dobbs I hope you read these, man

The idea of Arceus, and it's ripoff Silvally for that matter, being Normal type is that they're essentially pure blank slates. The ??? typing was kind of on it's way out at that point, being retired completely in Gen V, with the only acknowledgement it got being an unused Arceus form, so Normal is just fine with them. But I know this video is mostly played for laughs, I at least agree Porygon shouldn't be Normal since it's literally a mechanical creation

This guy cherry-picks info from Bulbapedia and does little to no research, at least from what I got in this video. Doesn't surprise me he made a mistake like this
Luxray should be the opposite of dark type. It's basically associated with light being able to see through walls, along with both "lux" and "ray" being directly associated with light
Incineroar being a Fighting type because it's in Smash is no excuse, as Greninja and Mewtwo are playable too.
0:21 how dare you insult ma boi
Love the vid but soudowoodo is perfectly normal being rock typ because sudo means fake so itâs name is fake wood

4:49 I 100% agree with you on this. It really did not need fighting in it
I can see why some of these should be different, but also thinking bout the balancing, like Blastoise as water steel, would make it netrual to charizard and not resist
But other that kinda thought, nice work
Gen 4 starters all have strengths and weaknesses against each other
@@vaporterra No they don't. Empoleon doesn't gain any advantage over Torterra. Torterra just gains an advantage over it's secondary Steel Typing once it loses it's advantage since Steel resists Grass, which would make it's Grass typing neutral. Meanwhile, neither of Empoleon's types are ever super effective against Torterra's evolutionary line at all, while Infernape gains an advantage over Empoleon as well due to it's Fighting type. Meaning that in the end, Empoleon is weak to both the other two starters, while only being able to counter one without going outside it's brown typing with TMs.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince they do fighting (infernape) beat empoleonand torterra (ground) beats infernape it also beats empoleon tho but empoleon gets nothing

Then Venusaur would be litterally useless both would be nuetral or resist
Lugia and Charizard pretty much always gets misunderstood

It wouldn't exactly be far fetched since well. Ninetales are base off kitsunes which are basically spiritual foxes. However I'm not sure whether Ninetales in the pokemon game/show is classified as dead in any of its Pokedex.
ya i remember watching the typing just get weirder and more out of control and it always confused me why they didnt just change them instead of leaving them like that just because
With the Cresselia type change, for the longest time I assumed Darkrai was Dark/Ghost, because I mean look at it. Does that not scream ghost? These new typings would make it so either of them was effective against the other.

8:28 I've always thought Psyduck and Golduck were water psychic type for the longest time it's in the name psy duck psychic duck. 12:08 for lickylicki should be at least maybe a rock type cause lickitung needs to learn rollout in order to evolve it
if you think of normal type not as "average, common, dull" but more as "neutral, no element, typeless", arceus and porygon make way more sense. other normal types fit this "neutral element" description too. like ditto. is a transforming blob common or average? no. does it fit into any specific elemental category? no. or like eevee. is a fluffy feline-canine-vulpine thing that can change its dna common or average? no. does it fit into any specific elemental category? no. this is how i always interpreted the type.
That would make Normal dual types hard to justify
To me, porygon still doesnât make sense to normal type seeing as it literally made of code which is made of electricity
It's so funny that most people don't know about the sarcasm in this video đ
A lot of people got whooshed
The only reason Charizard is Fire/Flying is so water could still be weak against it. The dragon type would neutralize fireâs water weakness, unbalancing the starterâs strength and weakness table.
Arceus is Normal type because it can change types depending on the plate it's holding. And also, normal is also known as "the basic type". Normal type is the BASIC form of Arceus.
To this day. Im still confused on Drapion's typing. Sometime I thought it has Ground type for some reason lol
You're not the only one, I can never get a super effective hit on it lol

It's poison/dark because its poisonous and super aggressive, thus the dark(evil) typing. It is one of the few Pokémon whom it could be argued for three types.

I really think every cute mythological tiny Pokémon should have gained the fairy type to cut down the insane amount of psychic legendaries we have.
- Mew (Fairy/Psychic)
- Celebi (Fairy/Grass)
- Jirachi (Fairy/Steel)
- Manaphy (Fairy/Water)
- Victini (Fairy/Fire)
- Marshadow (Fairy/Ghost)
I don't disagree, but doing that would mean we'd have an insane amount of Fairy legendaries instead.
According to Bogleech, when reviewing flabebe and it's evolutions, he explains that they are not made of plants.
Started pokemon can't have the same secondary type, I decide samurott should have rock type.
Psychic typing for the cosmog family is due to connections with galaxy.
Starter Pokemon can't have their type changed. I think about the fire/dark type for Thyplosion.
Both flygon and lurantis are false bugs.
While I understand Charizard as a dragon makes sense, don't you think it would have made the starter way overpowered? Why pick either other starter when you can have a dragon right off the bat? I understand why it's not a dragon even if it kind of sucks that it's not
Heliolisk should be Electric/Ground because it's found in desert areas. Although pure Electric can also work.

"Swellow should have been the first pure flying type"
Pidgeot: "Am I a joke to you?"
You mean the Normal/Flying type of gen 1?
I found so much wrong with this video hereâs what I found, also a blanket statement for this entire thing, just because a Pokemon learns a type of move, doesnât automatically that type. By that logic, Scyther should be pure Normal in Gen I, then add the Flying type on in Yellow. Anyway, hereâs the list:
Pumpkaboo - Jack o Lanterns are lit up by a candle, they donât just spontaneously combust and (nitpick)
Solgaleo - This is such a leap in logic, and magic is also Psychic, Necrozma (the other alchemy Pokemon) is also Psychic, Fairy/Steel is such an amazing typing, just take a look at Zacian, itâs AG on Pokemon Showdown.
Arceus - ??? type is supposed to be a type that was invented for Curse and used for Shadow Pokemon in Colosseum/XD and wasnât resisted by anything or super effective on anything. How OP would it be for the Pokemon with the highest BST that you can have to not be able to be hit super effectively without giving it a Plate
Incineroar - Its Smash appearance was a year after the release of SM and was announced less than a month (20 days) before USUM came out, also another Fire/Fighting type, I feel like Game Freak wanted to avoid backlash, also, once again, game balancing.
Psyduck/Golduck - I agree here
Ninetales - It would be way to OP in Gen I, do you really want another Alakazam in Gen I OU? Why not make it Ghost? Ghosts are known for cursing people, not psychics. Also, itâs based on a kitsune, a spirit, also called a ghost. Not only would the typing be more balanced, you would get another Ghost for Gen I.
Shroomish - Way too many Grass/Poison types, and not all mushrooms are poisonous.
Shelmet - I don't necessarily agree, but not going to tear into this one.
Celebi - Psychic suits it better, as it time travels, also it was based on the Kokopelli from Native American culture, not Navi.
Slowpoke - Being smart doesnât make you a psychic, the smartest person in the world is not a psychic
Porygon - I could see it being Electric, but not Steel. Itâs computer code. Not the computer itself. I prefer pure Normal, but thatâs just me
Tsareena - kicking doesnât make something fighting, by that logic
Flygon - It wouldnât have been the perfect one, it is fitting, but Yanma/Yanmega would have been better, they're dragonflies. Trapinch would have more made sense.
Lugia - it's supposed to be the âMaster of the Birdsâ also, that would have thrown the balance completely out of whack with Ho-oh. Also, just because you guard the sea doesnât make you a Water type
Torkoal - Macargo, you know, exists, also coal is moreso a ground thing, and even it was, it burns the coal, meaning no more rocks
Spinarak/Ariados - Wait, you said Ninjask would be the first. Plus spiders are more venomous than evil.
Lickilicky - I hope this is a joke
Dunsparce - I donât disagree, but I donât agree either
Lucario - Aura is exclusive to the anime, the last time they made something big based on the anime, it was Pokemon Yellow, which came out over 24 years ago (in Japan), and itâs name is based upon a orichalcum, a mythical metal
Solrock - A rock based on the sun. Not a rock which is the sun
Jirachi - Fairy/Steel would have made more sense, but once again, balance. It gets the Steel from the shooting star, like you said. Fairy donât grant wishes, generally speaking, genies do. And the only Genies on Pokemon as of Gen VI were Flying type, meaning, by your logic, Jirachi should be Psychic/Flying
Mega Gengar - Game balancing is important, and the Poison type helps it against the Fairy type, that would make it be worse than regular Gengar because itâs now weak to Fairy meaning itâs screwed because of the dominance of Fairy types
Misdreavus/Mismagius - So if fairies are mischievous, why did you say Chansey should also be fairy because fairies are helpful.
Charizard - that would destroy balancing, it would quad resist Venusaur and be neutral Blastoise, meaning it has no starter weakness, making it the objectively best Gen I starter
Dragonair - The manga. Yellow arc. If you read it youâd understand. Also, it can only learn Water HMs across all Gens, meaning it would make more sense as a Dragon/Water type by your logic, which would mean it would have no weakness in Gen I, so balancing
Cresselia - Itâs kept in check by Darkrai because itâs too good of a support otherwise, as its exclusive move, Lunar Dsnce, is a suicide with the next Pokemon sent out being fully restored, PP included
Furret - This is opinionated, I get that this would never be completely free from bias, but I could say in retaliation âBidoof should be God typeâ because it may not be legendary but it is a legends
Blastoise - It would be neutral to Charizard and be completely immune to Venusaurâs secondary typing, that would be terrible for balancing
Volbeat - It should be part electric or part fire because firefly, but I agree on Illumise
Parasect - I guess, but I think Bug/Grass type. Also, nitpick, Parasect is Bug/Grass, not pure Bug
Typhlosion - this better be a joke (it probably is)
Grappaloct - Poliwrath is just better. Also same thing as Lugia just because it came from or is heavily related towards the ocean does not mean it should be water type.
Chansey - vise versa of Misdreavus/Mismagius
Heliolisk - itâs also also based off of the Frilled Lizard, which is very common, meaning, by your logic, gives it the Normal type.
Ninjask - you based many Dark typings on being evil, ninjas are necessarily evil, meaning by your logic, it shouldnât have that typing. Also Ninjask does not really fight in shadows necessarily and its typing would often get confused with Shedinja
Drapion - itâs portrayed as being evil. By your logic, itâs Dark type. Also, Bug/Poison is kinda generic for this not very generic Pokemon. While Skroupi is Bug/Poison, I just think Poison/Dark is a better typing for it because of its personality and design. (Iâm getting the personality from the Pokedex, which is brought up in multiple times)
Girafarig - Why are you bringing up itâs beta design? Itâs not what you're talking about, itâs just a former design of it, not the final design, so you canât really make a call based on what the beta design is like. Thatâs like me saying I donât like this completed game because the early stage beta is a bit glitchy
Florges - I agree
Xerneas - If you can understand Flabebe and Floette not being part Grass, why canât Xerneas also be pure Fairy when itâs not the tree, when it could be part Grass
Arbok - snakes arenât evil, theyâre only portrayed as evil in the Old Testament because of the temptation of Adam and Eve. Also, once again, Yellow was the last time the anime was majorly referenced in the games
Emboar - itâs based off Zhang Fei from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, who is a warrior, meaning Fighting type
Glalie - balancing, it doesnât have the stats to pull off Ice/Rock at all, granted Moody, but that was introduced two Gens after it was introduced and was the only fully evolved pure Ice type that wasnât a legendary, of a form of Castform, at the time
Sudowoodo - itâs a fake tree, not a real tree( I know its probably a joke)
Luxray - it wouldnât get that much off a boost from being Dark type, and only Dark from its design, nothing else also many pokemon do learn moves like bite and crunch for example trapinch
Nosepass - while I donât agree with your reasoning, I do agree it should be part Steel
Samurott - that would destroy the balancing of the starters in Gen V
Taillow/Swellow - Fighting/Flying wouldâve made more sense because itâs said to be highly aggressive
Spearow/Fearow - nothingâs really screaming Dark type, and itâs better than Pidgeot in Gen I especially as it actually learns Flying moves before Level 28, assuming itâs a Pidgey when it learns Wing Attack, which is 35 Base Power in Gen I, before then, only Normal moves, also, itâs stats are more offensive than Pidgeot
Noctowl - Xatu does the job better, also it is a more unique regional bird than most others because of its focus of Special Defense
Mega Absol - I donât see the Fairy, if anything it would be Dark/Flying, but even then, just leave it as is.
If you like this video that is fine this is just my opinion
Why did I write this all out? I have way too much time on my hands!
4:40. the reason for this rock typing is because sudowoodo is based on pseudo wood a type of wood that looks like wood but actually itâs stone
so yeah
He said he was joking btw
I disagree: Furret should be the Walk type!
Great video, agree with most but for Incineror makes sense the typing because he is a wrestler and some wrestlers play dirty, and are not really experienced fighters, so it makes sense that they are dark type instead of fighting.
Emboar makes sense the fighting type because he is basead of a style of fighting similar to sumo if im not mistaken. Anyways it is a style of combat so fighting type makes sense.
Florges is not grass type because the ideia of the line is that they are fairies that live in gardens and disquise as the plants. So basically they are fake flowers. The same ideia for Fomantis and his line, but with other typing.
Drapion also makes sense. Because first scorpions are not bugs (i know that many pokemon are not bugs but have that typing, like galvantula that is a tarantula, but if you gonna remove a typing to give it other I think bug is the best choice here since scorpions are more poison then bug) and second because he is literally the ogre scorpion and ogres are bad creatures and his pokedex even states that he is vicious (Dark type). Dark type makes a ton of sense here.
Porygon and Arceus are normal types because they are basically a "blank slate" and become anything (Arceus is god that can have all types and Porygon is a computer virus or code that can modify itself to get anywhere through the virtual world). Also Porygon is the virtual thing not the machine itself so makes no sense to be eletric and steel.
Flygon is not even a bug so it doesn't make sense for him to be dragon. His prevolutions makes a little sense that typing since they are basead in a ant-lion (maybe the name is wrong because im translating from what i know it in my language, but it a burrowing insect so the ground type already makes sense) and a dragonfly (which has dragon in thr name. Can not be more on the nose with that) but he is a full dragon (flygon is basead around the trope that certain animals when they reach certain conditions turn into dragons or mythical creatures, the same ideia for Gyarados)
Spinarak makes sense the Dark type but not by removing poison type

Magcargo: :/
Is the misspelling for torkoal and Carkol on purpose or?
@@OneMoreTenTimes nope just didn't bother to look it up and since it had coal in the name I assumed it would be spelt the same
Magcargo would like to have a word with you, about being the first Fire/Rock Pokemon to exist.
Anyone notice how at the end of the Arceus section, it cuts when Arceus looks to the right where the Bidoof sprite is? If this was intentional, well done; if not, then it's a nice little coincidence.
Glad you noticed! †It was intentional!!
Lucario's name is also a play on aurichalcum (or orichalcum), an older metal written about by people like Plato
Love your videos Dobbs! Really miss seeing your content on Dobbs Gaming too!
Voltrob and Electrode is Not Pokeball Type biggest mistake.
Modern Pokéballs work through electronic circuitry, thus the typing.
Sudowoodo is based on a petrified tree log. In other words it's a tree that turned into a rock. Alternatively because it's name is a pun of Pesudo which means fake so its name literally means fake wood so it is a rock pretending to be a tree. I would love a regional variant of Sudowoodo that is grass type meaning it is made of genuine wood
Dobbs: "Sudowoodo should be Grass type"
*You have alerted the horde*
Trueeee

Dobbs I don't know how you manage to make those short animations always amazing and entertaining but you do so keep it going.
Another reason for xearnes being fairy-grass is fairy is super effective against dark and flying is super effective against grass
Xearnes and yveltal are super effective against each other and weak against each other
actually slowpokes very smart. its just unable to use its intellect well or something.
I love how most of your suggested pokemons typing make me goes "wait, it wasn't?"
8:21 By Dobbsâs logic, Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Jigglypuff, Pichu, and Mewtwo should also be Fighting types.
first of all, thyplosion learns fire type moves, judge the inside, not the outside
second of all, thyplosions come from a natural born fire type starters, if they get pure normal, they wouldn't deserve to be called a fire type final evo
With the Xerneas logic Yveltal should be a bug type because it turns into a cacoon
I think the reason Lucario is Steel/Fighting is because a) its courage is as strong as Steel, similar to Cobalion's reason for being Steel and b) aura, at least within pop culture, is a pretty powerful fighting spirit thing...so in Lucario's case its attunement for aura is that strong that it can sense others' aura.
We can all agree that Dobbs never disappoints us with his content

Magnemite was pure electric in generation 1 and got the steel type in generation two along with magneton, the ralts line the cleffa line the igglybuff line and even more got the fairy type in generation 6 so old mons can gain new types when they get introduced
magnemite and magneton??
Luxray should be Electric Dark.
4:43 in one pokemon dex entry ir said something similar to children can recognize pseudowudo (sorry i dont know to spell that) from a normal tree because its surface feels rocky.......for some reason
The reason why most water type starters isn't part steel type is because it distrups the type triangle of the starters because water is suppose to be waek to grass and steel resist grass so it just won't work. And they only got around this with Empollian by giving Torterra the ground type to counter Empollian's steel typing. And Venusaur already has a secondary type one that steel takes no damage from so it just wouldn't work.
