Apple basically took all the 2021 iMac M1 machines and switched out the chips!

My honest prediction as to why Apple didn't update the Mac accessories to USB-C is because new displays are on the way next year (WWDC at the earliest.)
Apple may be working on a completely new redesign for the Magic Mouse with USB-C with hopefully the charge port being placed in the front of the mouse like the Logi tech mouse and keep the same design of the Magic Keyboard and track pad but with USB-C.
So, I honestly think that Apple may be planning to announce updated Mac Accessories alongside brand-new displays (Pro XDR / Studio Displays) in WWDC 2024.
With that being said, after the WWDC event next year, Apple could quietly start shipping the new 24-inch iMac with M3 that got announced yesterday, with the new USB-C Accessories just like how Apple introduced the AirPods Pro 2nd Generation last year and updated them this year to USB-C

Why would u prefer a type-c cable over lightning cable to charge your mouse and keyboard. They are bulky and tough unlike most of the lightning cables. I'm using anker silicon lightning cables and they are great, been using for 2 years. Flexible and easy to keep unlike most of my thunderbolt/usb-c cable.

They say these are faster than the machines with Intel processors, but I find it hard to compare these colored iMacs (M3 / 24 GB of ram) to my 27 inch iMac with i9 / 64 GB of ram! I teach a media class and next year we are moving to a new building so they want new equipment in that building-- not sure if should just vouch for the Mac Studio because these colored macs with a fraction of the amount of GB on Ram of my current ones SEEMS like a downgrade (not to mention losing screen space), if I should argue with my district to let me TRANSFER my current units, OR just accept that they say these are "faster than the Intel iMacs"-- faster than the Intel units that even had 64 GB of ram?! I find it hard to believe. Anyone have insight?

Really sad AAPL are milking it with nothing but a processor upgrade to show. Especially bad when 27" iMacs are no longer supported. But oh ... those colours, LOL.

But these "processor upgrades" is what changed the entire industry.

It’s only 2 times faster, I rather stick with my current iMac, I don’t edit much either

@@Gadgetsix Hey, I get that. However it’s a game changer for me. Considering I still have the 2019 21.5 inch iMac.

It works as a design so why change it? Would have been nice for them to do a black one like they did for the MacBook but eh
