- As of the day this video goes up, AC Mirage has now been out for 6 months. I can't believe it's already been half a year, but now that we've had plenty of time to digest the game, and now that the hype has faded how does AC Mirage feel 6 months later?

I still think it felt like a chunk of the game was missing, like there was supposed to be more.
Tbf it's a standalone from Valhalla so yes there is alot missing. They also took those things away n reworked in items from the old formula, still they didn't do enough to warrant the feeling of it being a full game
I belive it was originally supposed to be Valhalla dlc which makes sense, it’s about Basim and he’s from that game and the whole ending stuff, but they then got a little more budget to make it a standalone. But even then it feels incomplete, too short, and 90% of the cast are just not interesting, there’s 4 good characters, and one of them is a figment of Basims imagination. Idk in a lot of bad ways this game doesn’t live up to the standard that every game has set imo
I bought it last Friday, and I have only played for maybe 8-10 hours(?)
I have only done the first Main Target (the one that precedes the gameplay trailer cutscene) yet my PS5 progress percentage says I'm about 60% into the main game.
It does feel a bit 'short'.
His assassin story felt rush, he goes from being hunted to training to be an assassin, so we dont get a back story, or a conflict on how he felt after escaping his home and apparently assassins welcome anyone in huh🤨, even though the master literally told basim to mind his business,
@@RealTezzueyeah they didn’t connect none of it together its a lot of continuity issues honestly they could’ve done better 6 months more prep
To me, it's just a 7/10 game. Nothing groundbreaking. Just another addition to the franchise.

Mirage is definitely my favorite Assassin's Creed game in a long, long time. Origins is the only game in recent history that comes close, but for me, Mirage captures just enough of that classic gameplay loop nostalgia to beat it.
Plus, the refocusing on parkour (even with its imperfections and shortcomings) was something I desperately needed in my life, so that really won me over.
So u don’t know what ac is if ur saying this story boring, character 🤢, weapons joke, map horrible, nothing was nostalgic about this garbage go to play the real assassins creed like black flag

Yea ac origins was the best one of the prior trilogy as it was a very simple yet powerful story with good combat system as well as it contained some ac factors
A bow would be great in AC Red and will mostly be there, I think you would be happy with that :)
I like cross bows more I just love getting kills with it. It is just so satisfying for some reason idk why
When you said that it gave you this feeling you didnt feel in almost ten years, and I remembered that unity went out in 2014...
I feel so old

Syndicate was better than unity
@@JamesSmith-ny2gb I'm not gonna say which one is better cuz its everyone's diffrent opinion but you cant deny that unity was the revolution among others
@@JamesSmith-ny2gbI love syndicate's combat but everything about the parkour feels too easy because of the zipline. Unity is by far has the best parkour system in the series.
This game's setting is one of my favourite historical periods, and it does a superb job capturing it. For that alone, I adore this game.
Just beat this game on Wednesday, gotta say it’s nice to feel like an assassin again. Let this studio make another game!
Haven’t played mainly cuz the teleportation just threw me off
@@Jc-ly6pe at first I didn’t really like it either but if you use it for movement more then like a get out of jail free card it’s a lot more fun, I hope they make it more like the fear takedowns from Arkham Knight in AC Red

@@Jc-ly6pe I didn't played the game yet, but when I will I do not plan to use that teleportation feature at all. It's the only one thing I don't like in the game so far I see.
Not once during the story did I use the transportation assassination. I kind of forgot about and never needed it. It was only the forced training and for trophy after I finished.
Also I really hope they carry over the eavesdropping function. It was 10x better than the tailing missions in the past AC games and it actually works with lore.
I'm so in love with the music of this game.
Its so good 🔥
Mirage is one of my favorite Assassins Creed game, Baghdad is a beautiful City, and the stealth is so good in every aspect Mirage is the game we needed and Bordeux is the Studio we needed
Hopefully Bordeaux get a chance to make a proper AC game withought being held back by higher ups in the future
So far Origins is the best recent AC game I have played which is sad considering there were 2 whole AC's after that one and they were huge.
I have been skeptic and absorbed as many critics about AC Mirage and with this new video you've made, I'm willing to finally try it, hoping for the best.
Origins is simply amazing
@@CITYZEN50 well said
@@CITYZEN50 incredible

Returning after mirage to origins again made me appreciate why origins is indeed my favorite
Mirage is just exactly what people would expect to get when they are buying a video game about being an Assassin. Nothing more, nothing less. It is neatly done. A good game.
Should I get the base game for $25 or master assassin edition for $45?
@lsdxm get the base game, the master edition just has useless cosmetics
@@lsdxm Always check what is the difference between the version's i'tll make it easier to decide for yourself based on what you think is worth it or not. Some value cosmetics and pay extra for it as others like me don't give a damn and will pick the base game or the version with extension (which i think mirage doesnt have)
funny that this guy never adressed the fact that the AI in this game is basically braindead, making the stealth that he preaises simply pointless.
It is less.
Less than anything made before Origins.
This is still my go to AC game, I think it's because the city and the feeling of being an assassin, I really really like it!
AC lore fits perfectly with middle eastern backdrop since it’s source material is the Hashashins 🤷🏻♂️
Its sad that we've gotten to the point where the newest game in a franchise being seen as a "go to game" is a compliment.
The newest release in a series being the "go to game" is quite literally the absolute bare minimum a studio should strive to accomplish.
@@closelaugh185 Not really, this franchise has a lot of variety, so your "go to" game can be any one of them, Mirage won't be your "go to" if you want a Pirate experience, or an RPG experience, i said Mirage is my "go to" Assassin's Creed, but if i ever want a Pirate experience, Black Flag is my "go to"

I played it the month it dropped and I was so disappointed. Mirage felt nothing like a traditional AC game other than the setting. They just stripped the RPG elements leaving behind the terrible parkour and making the combat worse. The narrative dropped off a cliff halfway through and they kept the annoying mission structure. It’s a step in the right direction and better than Valhalla at least.
6 months wow it's crazy btw you are a legendary assassin in ac games and amazing video too brother i love the stealth in ac mirage alot take care bud 😊😊

I just started playing Mirage recently and am loving it so far. Basim seems like a cool protagonist, and it's been neat watching him become the Assassin we know from Valhalla. I'm not a fan of the combat, although I do understand stealth should be the main way of playing. So far, I am having a great time with the game overall.
Honestly both should have been focus on cause when assassins fight they fight like it’s an art not w.e Ubisoft was trying do just can’t with niggas no more

this game was amazing, one of my favorites actually. I would love to see a game that’s based off the assassins creed movie with aguilar. He was so badass in the movie and i want to see more of him considering the minor scenes we got to actually see of him as the movie was heavily on the modern day aspect and focused more on abstergo and the templars
Great vid dude
i just cant get over the reveal trailer when they said "we've taken the game back to its roots.."
*adds teleportation*
Except they gave a canonical explanation for it that fits both the modern day lore, and the historical lore, so calling it teleportation when it wasn't is idiotic
It's still teleportion, regardless of how they dress it.
Adding a "play the game for me" button is weird because the point of stealth games is to figure it out case by case

Personally I just want an AC game with Odyssey variety, Syndicate combat, Origin tools, Unity Stealth & Parkour and Valhalla’s Map

syndicates combat was awful
valhallas map was awful a AC game
why having such a great parkour system on the worst map to parkour on ?

Once I customized all of my controller bindings to run more like older AC games, this game was an awesome nice step in the right direction 🔥
I wish we had gotten a bit more backstory for basim.
Like to see how he lost his father or how/when he started seeing nehal.
We don't really know much about his early life and i think that it would help the story a bit more
It’s a solid game 7/10 the story and writing are my only complaints
Yeah, the story, characters and writing were mid af
100% agreed here
Damn lol.if those are bad, the gameplay is ugly (in my opinion) , cutscenes are not good, parkor is not it...with all that said....i cant play it 🥲 lol
Sounds like a Assassins Creed game.
Solid A tier and definitely a step in the right direction for assassins creed. The only things keeping it from being A+ or potentially S is the length and potentially the Valhalla tie in holding back its parkour. While Baghdad was an amazing city and Bordeaux did a fantastic job with what they had, I wonder how much more it couldve been elevated if they had the old parkour system and weren’t held back by Valhalla’s mechanics.
Ask Ubisoft they’ll give u a good answer
Had a lot of fun with it , & it contained a lot of the things I needed unlike the previous 2 AC games
- stealth
- good story with conspiracies
- parkour ?
- stealth again
A nice call back to the OG days of AC that a lot of us started with. A very solid 8/10 for me. Just wanted more, you can easily beat it in 20 hours.
Solid 7.5/10
why do reviewers always say” no the game isn’t perfect, but….” very few games are perfect, let’s stop thinking we need a perfect game all the time
Great AC game in a long time, great value and length, extremely fun stealth mechanics. Obviously we have chain assassinations now, but I really miss double assassinations.
As a die hard fan of the OG games, Mirage was definitely a step back in the right direction.
I’m watching this while doing the NG+, Permadeath, hardest difficulty run.
So far so good.
Also, in my opinion I think this game was really good and has been one of the best ac games in a LOONNNGGGGG while
Pushing it best ac game is odyssey did Mirage get nominated in the game award last year nope cause odyssey did in 2018 sooooo that speak voluming gang

One of my biggest suggestion for a issue ive had is in the parkour i want a designated jump and 360 grab to come back the parkour would be perfect imo if they added that i cant tell you how many times ive been on a banister and needed to go straight up but couldbt do so and more diverse weapon choices
This is actually one of the best ac games. I spent a lot of the Christmas break playing it
It’s crazy I thought that this game would top, AC ORIGINS. Boy was I wrong. I almost regret buying it. I don’t even play it anymore and still haven’t finished it.😕

Just got this on sale and I am really enjoying it so far.
Great video 👍🏽
Honestly every AC game is dumb because all NPCs have the same climbing ability you do, effectively dismantling the entire point of training to become, or operating as, an assassin.
Not all of them I don’t think?
Not all of them. Just the recent ones.
Dude in previous game like ezio even the regular thief do park our😂😂 have you even play the game no npc climb in mirage only the antagonist and they are assassins too😂😂😂 and even if that was the case you dont have to be trained to climb basim before training cant even kill or do leap of faith! In previous game the character know how to do leap of faith withought knowing the assassins exist😂😂 tf you taking about
For real I thought I was the only one who noticed they need to have different animations for the npc’s maybe slower and clumsy parkour
@@user-um2yd5vq3m so,if ezio wasnt an assassin, how you explain the eagle vision,or desmond,of course they are assassins,is in their blood,
5/10 game at absolute best case
Only things I liked about it is Timeline and where it’s set, Middle East especially during Medieval time is perfect setting for an AC game but that’s all they did good, Basim as a protagonist is bland af, most side characters are forgettable, dialogues and Voice acting is abysmal, facial features especially during cutscenes is even worse than voice acting, combat is very basic, not enough weapons, Parkour is decent that I would give them
As someone who only recently finished his first playthrough, I can say this: It was like 3.6 Roentgen. Not great, but not terrible.
The whole game itself didn't feel like a full AC game. It felt like what Liberation was to AC3 and Freedom Cry was to Black Flag: a companion game. It took assets that were already there and made a few changes, but nothing spectacular.
Speaking of things not spectacular, I agree with you in that parkour system was definitely lacking. Basim's moves felt slow and clunky, and the idea to have the sprint button be the left stick like this was CoD was stupid. Assassins either move at full speed with the left stick, or they go into high profile action with RT.
The combat system was absolute ass. The indicator for light or heavy attacks didn't come until a frame before they attacked, and I was taking damage because I tried to parry a heavy. Eventually, I just gave up on parrying altogether and just treated it like Dark Souls. Dodge and attack until they die. And the few times I did parry, I'd parry one guy, and the guy next to him attacked half a second later, and I got damaged by him because Basim didn't reset in time. Ubisoft needs to bring back the Brotherhood--Rogue combat with kill streaks and counters, all of which made you feel like an unstoppable god of war. And get rid of the stupid stamina bar thing! Basim can endlessly sprint, climb, and swim across the whole of Baghdad--why on earth would he suddenly have cardio issues when fighting?
I found the outfits to be uninspired and unappealing, with the only one I actually liked being Basim's base outfit, the Initiate of Alamut. There was a sleekness to it yet a comfortable bulk that belayed the physique of a man that was light on his feet but heavy in his hits. The Master outfit made Basim look skinny, and the rest were ugly. The dyes were also boring, with many of them making the outfits even less appealing. However, I see the white Mentor Rahan and the black Initiate outfit herein, and am wondering if those are mods or available in-game as NG+ rewards.
The talismans were also a wasted opportunity. Instead of giving unique perks, they just dangle and look weird in certain cutscenes.
Speaking of cutscenes, they sucked. Looked like someone was using strings to manipulate plastic dolls.
Another criticism is the lack of enthusiasm regarding main targets. Previous games had huge build ups and stories surrounding the targets, and really created the feel that you were gearing up to deliver justice. In Mirage, the main targets felt as important as any other NPC. Just go here and kill them. The lack of oomph surrounding the main targets is another reason why the game felt more like a companion to AC:V than its own installment.
There were also some gameplay mechanics I didn't like, though these are standard for me regarding RPGs. I think exp and skill points are a stupid way to progress, especially in a franchise like Assassin's Creed. Why can I only have more gadgets on my toolbelt if I buy the skill? Shouldn't tools be included in Alamut basic training? Upgrading by having to spend resources is also dumb. Just give weapons with set states like the previous titles. In short, I don't like RPG mechanics in my Assassin's Creed. Didn't like them in Unity, don't like them now.
All right, that's everything I didn't like, now for the things I did like. I loved the approach to stealth in the game. Crouching, rolling, and gadgets, all fantastic stuff. The Assassin Focus didn't make any sense lore or gameplay wise, but I think that can be fixed if Ubisoft did it in the same way Rocksteady did Batman's Fear Multi Takedown from Arkham Knight. Instead of Basim teleporting around, the game actually shows him moving at high speeds across the terrain to assassinate targets. Baghdad was also beautiful and easy to traverse despite the shoddy parkour, and the environment was rich with history. Loved reading about Baghdad's history.
I'm still confused about Basim. I thought he was the villain, the reincarnation of Loki that spent all of Valhalla trying to kill Sigurd and Eivor, whose current motivations are unknown because he's certainly not a real member of the Brotherhood anymore. I thought.
Overall, though, this game actually felt like Assassin's Creed again, so that was a plus.
Lets go another vid of my bro
what hype ?
I’ve played every AC game multiple times and I can honestly say that Mirage will be the first one that I will never play again. The only part I enjoyed about this game was how you had to take out certain guards before you could use your bird. That bit was an interesting addition.

I just started 4 days ago to. Lovin it. Be that Origins is my fav I felt the vibes immediately. Sarah B. did a great job. This was a breathe of fresh air
Master, i would love if you make a video talking about the manual jump mod that they made for mirage, Ahmedanubis the guy that posted about the side-ejects on reddit also made a post for tha manual jump, he made 3 posts in the last 3 months to promote the mod and is trying to get Bordeaux attetion.
I dont know if they saw the post, but if you make a video talking about it and showcasing the mod(theres is vídeos on CZcams)is very possible that we might get this as an official update on the game, and even if they ignore or dont add anything, it still is a really good addition to the game that people that liked mirage need to see.
Outside the city everything was boring for me
Overpriced dlc not a full game.
I hope this a game in the series I end up really liking. I've played all 12 of the previous main AC games and would like to play Mirage before Codename Red comes out.
This is what I wanted from the new engine. RPG elements while still holding true and feeling like an assassin. The combat could definitely use some work, even going back to the old style that wasn’t hard, but was entertaining. I played ac for the feeling of being an assassin. While Valhalla was a great Viking game, it never felt like an ac game to me. I hope they continue to build from this game and improve to bring us the best version of ac we will see. I even forgot about so many little elements like pulling posters off to lower notoriety because we haven’t had them in such a long time. Overall it definitely wasn’t the best ac game made, but compared to the previous 3, it was definitely a good blast to the past with a touch of modernism.
Mirage is worse than Origins
I don’t understand how you can be satisfied with a game that’s nothing but a copy paste from the last 10 years. We are talking about a game that looks worse graphically than black flag on PS3
Copy Paste is just simply untrue, but okay
Also looks worse than black flag lmao? Sure okay keep spewing the same talking points your favorite gaming “journalists” because it’s really showing all of us how much of a true individual you are
You are absolutely delusional if you think Black Flag looks better in any way, shape, or form. I just played both and while I love Black Flag, the Anvil Engine looks WORLDS better in Mirage. Also, this game was based on the core code of Valhalla, yet they managed to do significantly better with this game than with Valhalla.
These comments helped me make my decision. I havent enjoyed ac games since Unity! Im more of a AC1&2 type player so to hear this game(Mirage) gives that same feel...im buyin rn while its on sale😎Thanks for the content
Really good game overall, the stealth is so much fun and good parkour as well
I'm a big AC purist and I've been craving a return to the series roots for a long time. They claimed Mirage would be that, but it turns out to be a very half-assed attempt with so many missed opportunities.
This is one of my best AC! The parkour is not Unity master piece but... exploring Bagdad? 100 hours for me! Bravo Bordeaux!
Funny I just got the game 😂 love assassin's creed been a big fan since the first one with Altair. Cool to see that this game brings back the roots of the original Game. Good review 💯 love your videos and vibes stay up man.🥂
Haven’t bought a AC game since unity. This game brought me back to the franchise. I liked it.
It was the game we needed, finally. Of course I need more of these lol
It’s frigin great after beating it I been working on getting every achievement, doing every side quest and collectibles and trying to beat it on permadeath mode. Origins, odyssey and Valhalla were great games (minus Valhalla) but after beating the story and dlc I was too burnt out to play them anymore
its nice to think that big studios are starting to recognise that the best way to sell games is to make good games
I played at launch and pretty much stopped playing after I beat it minus getting the last few skill points from the book collectible quest there wasn’t much repeatability after that but after watching this and knowing they’ve add all of that I’m absolutely gonna give it another play through
Played the game for the first time recently and I had a really good time, being able to play the game almost entirely without fighting once, on Master Assassin difficulty. It is an Assassin’s Creed.
Now they just need to add the manual jump, manual climb leap, and take away the stamina mechanic. And when safely free running down the side of a structure, they need to speed up how fast Basim climbs down.
😂🤣 the stamina mechanic was my main reason I wanted to commit genocide on Ubisoft it took away all the fun my whole walkthrough on Valhalla I was mad as hell
Back and side ejects on only pc though right?
I just started playing it last week, and I love it. I do like the newer games' more combat-heavy style, but my playstyle within those games has still been more stealth-oriented, so Mirage is exactly what I like. I'm not ready to say if I like Mirage more than Origins, Unity, Revelations or Odyssey yet, but I do like it more than Valhalla, Black Flag, III, Brotherhood, Rogue & Syndicate. and I *really* like BF & Syndicate. I like the size of the game too. it's not too big and not too small, and the setting is a very a welcome changeup. I'd like more games set in Asia, Africa and Central/South America. I play games to experience new worlds, and I love the AC series for choosing interesting time periods. we have had enough games set in the US and Western Europe. it's for this reason that I'm very curious about AC Jade.
I just started playing AC Origins again. Such a great open world game like all the other Assassin Creeds
For AC I keep on imagining a future where there is just one place Animus where people can access and play all of human history with overtime adding new cities, perhaps even same cities during different time periods. Including going back to the very beginning, ie. the First Civilization. Not playing it as a game but as a world to live in as multiple characters in the same setting.
I platinum Mirage i enjoyed the game play and i liked how they focused on the assassination part of it.
I'm interested to see how Basim's presence in the modern-day affects the new Ubisoft games, especially now that he's a fun and popular character. Everyone loves a good anti-hero, and I'm interested to see where Ubisoft takes that following Basim's modern-day moments in Valhalla, especially now that he has the staff of Hermes.
It was my favorite AC since Unity and Syndicate. Great addition to the series
I really can't point at what it is, but Ubisoft made something that this game made me feel after many years later, and Basim as a person was something I was not expecting, after Valhalla where he is seroius but focus on his mission, I really hope Ubisoft makes another game with him, they can even use the elements of Valhalla if they don't want to start from scratch, they can make a game focus on Basim during Valhalla, meeting more people that Eivor didn't or redo more places where the parkour is possible
I love Mirage so much ❤
For me I felt like Mirage is a good sweetspot between the control of movement from origins to the style of Unity. I Just wish they had more time to develop the parkour and cutscenes, but im quite happy with what I got and have been playing Mirage since it’s launch. Also, Assassin’s creed was made for middle eastern settings, my god how I love Baghdad
