The game was definitely a step in the right direction. It felt like an Assassin's Creed game. Odyssey and Valhalla were not AC games by any means so i see Mirage as a win.

I see far too many people not understanding that combat is supposed to be hard and unwieldy to encourage stealth and implementing stealth gadgets like a true assassin. Since odyssey, you’ve been able to ignore stealth and run in swords blazing without caring about stealth in the slightest. This game changes that and I love it. Combat is satisfying when dealing with few opponents but not when you’re in an enemy base and quickly get surrounded. This makes stealth and not getting caught at the front of people’s priorities which I love and is a totally understandable and great compromise for the RPG style. This game was amazing from head to toe definitely replaying it again soon.
I agree mostly, the combat should be hard, but it should be rewarding. The problem with the combat isn’t that it’s difficult, it’s that it’s lazy. It’s unsatisfying, awful animations, and clearly not the focus of the game. Luckily it doesn’t need to be, but they need to improve it because it makes anything but stealth unplayable.

I just got my Mirage on a Black Friday sale. And I’m someone who it doesn’t take that much to be entertained, especially when it comes to AC games so I’ll probably end up enjoying it too

Origins and odyssey better
It may not be the greatest or the most memorable, but it certainly was a very much needed welcome back to the franchise’s old roots.

The way Basim was haunted by the djinn felt different than the way Evior interacted with Odin. Basim had BOTH Nehal and the djinn in him whereas Eivor only had Odin. Also, the way basim experienced it felt more like multiple personality disorder where they end up with gaps in their memory. His past self wasn't truly Loki, that was just Eivor's interpretation due to his culture.
I think that Nehal and the djinn are NOT the same. The djinn is his past self whereas Nehal is an alter caused by multiple personality. Basim has both a mental illness and reincarnation going SIMULTANEOUSLY.

I think i was wrong about the cultural interpretation now. It's still partly true, like how yggdrasil was a machine, not a tree, but valhalla and eden and Atlantis were all real places, those were their real names.

I find the teleport a hard thing to judge about on one side its very unrealistic but on the other side its very fun and handy in some situations... but a smoke bomb could also work in cases like that

It has its issues but is a step in the right direction and I did enjoy the game just the characters and combat really do lack substance tho. Especially combat but they wanted to focus on stealth more so I get it. But they need to take AC3 combat, AC unity parkour and this game stealth and make a game like that.

I Can get behind this. I enjoyed the game thoroughly and I don’t even know why. The story was awesome for me, I really like Basim, and the stealth and chains I’ve seen people pull off are crazy. I like luring out this enemy I don’t remember the name of and fighting them. They only come out when you reach peak notoriety.
I don’t know why people hate the teleportation ability. I know it’s unrealistic but it’s still very satisfying and cool.

Honestly I enjoyed unity parkour more then Mirage It felt more smooth and it did what I wanted and didn’t force me follow a path as much

Parkour is a tiny step in the right direction. Unity and even syndicate still has this game beaten by lightyears.
And before anyone says "unity was clunky" imagine they would've improved on this system year after year instead of throwing the concept of fun traversal out, the second origins came out.
This is why I find it difficult to put any defense to Ubisoft.
Unity had a nightmare of a launch, yet rather than take what little improvements they made in Unity and improve upon it, they instead decided to chase the trend started by Witcher 3 at the time. Now we have Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla which are clearly their attempts at trying to imitate Witcher 3's success.
i actually liked the stealth and special abilities it really made me feel slick and badass and i feel its stealth makes up for other subpar stuff.

Odyssey and Valhalla are slow, I even went and tested it and parkour in Mirage is a hell of a lot faster. It’s not perfect of course, but it’s a really good improvement

This game is great. I don’t love it but there are some mechanics that made this game enjoyable. The stealth is fun and challenging. The setting is beautiful. As an Arab I truly felt immersed. I just wished the combat is better. And don’t get me started on the NPC’s. 😂

If you're a die hard AC fan. Buy this game. I play'd and finished it and yes the story is lackluster. But you get a better understanding of Basim than you got in Valhalla. But go in knowing that this is a prequel with all the best stuff technical wise to date. I feel like this game is AC rouge done right. Hopefully the next game is a continuation for the series and that we can get out of the animus and freaken learn more about what's going on because this game left me dry on that part.

It might be subjective, but objectively you have to pay real money for clothes, combat feels clonky and if you “yo this is a new style” it might be but do say we’re coming back to the roots, the graphics are good , at least they’re not buggy as hell, story is boring, is incomparable with ac 1-3 (Ezio finale), at this point we don’t know if it is a reboot or what, overall is subjective, but if you compare to others games, I dunno man they can do better not a copy paste from another game.

Bro I didn’t know you can teleport until after I beat the game and saw clips. Good thing I didn’t do it, because it was basically like older assassins games. Having to rely on smoke bombs, throwing knifes, and darts to get around. Not to mention the pickpocketing was fun as well. I’m so glad I didn’t know of the teleport move. Beat the game without it.

Tbh the teleport ability is not an ability that saves you easily. You still have to plan how you’re going to execute the chain assassination or you risk getting seen by other enemies and getting killed (happened to me a few times). I think the fact you still have to plan it properly makes it okay, but I can see why people wouldn’t want to use it. Also, just wanted to point out that Ubisoft originally meant for Mirage to be a Valhalla DLC which is why it’s only 15 hours long. Regarding your last comment, I’m assuming you didn’t play Valhalla because Mirage is a prequel to Basim’s role in Valhalla. If you want to know what happens to Basim later in his story, you can watch or play Valhalla’s storyline. I don’t want to spoil.

I played the mirage trial version and I really like how it starts.. I will buy it soon and hope for a good story line
the parkour was a bit clunky at times. and it felt a little lifeless but it was the best we have seen in years.
I just finished the game after 23 hours of gaming. Gameplay: 8/10, Environment graphic: 10/10, character graphic: 5/10, story is confusing so 6/10, Ending: 8/10 and I am still waiting for a true ending, as who went through Basim's story. Parkour: 7/10. Overall, I enjoyed the game and I would love to see what happens to Basim and assassins.

FACTS, no AC game has beaten Unity's graphics to this day which is crazy considering the game was released in 2014 💀

Parkour is very good , unity is better but bugged so I prefer Mirage’s parkour.
Special abilities is fun if it was a fantasy game but with rpg trilogy it already is a fantasy saga (from Odyssey)
Definition of perfection - Unity.
Now it is, but it was terrible at launch. It was considered the worst game back then and everyone hated it to guts.
That aside, can you really say that Unity had a good story though?

@@guts1952you have no idea what you’re talking about😂 it’s literally COMPLETELY different from Valhalla. It’s a smaller world, stealth based game with a focus on the assassins. That’s the exact opposite of Valhalla.

@guts1952 those are moot points. Using the Valhalla engine doesn't make it a Valhalla clone. Sure some elements are similar to Valhalla but what'd you expect from cut Valhalla dlc. Combat is more restrictive in mirage than Valhalla. You can't rush in head first like you can in Valhalla.

Honestly, I liked Mirage, for the stealth, the parkour, the story, a bit of everything, some things I appreciated more, others less
Unity/Syndicate were peak parkour
The only good thing is the animations because the system is totally broken.
Graphics could have been a bit better. Felt like a graphics downgrade from Valhalla but other than that this review was basically spot on
