Because the CEO's and execs call the shots from their safe plush offices. They are the ones who gave the orders to open that well..... AGAINST the advice of those who were there. They were told that the cement job did not hold and that there was gas (H2S) detected in the well. They didn't listen and gave the order to open the well anyways. As soon as the gas hit the atmosphere it exploded. And the CEO of BP made countless MILLIONS in the aftermath.

You want reality ? The NWO controls everything including the poisonous vaccines fool line up for. They control all governments including China/North Korea, Russia/Iran & of course the bully of the world the UK/US/Israel empire. Up next the 4 Horsemen which are Famine, Disease, WW3 & FEMA Death camps. The Bible says the Great Tribulation will be like no other time in the history of the world so expect to see stuff you've never seen before. The elite have bones from Nephilim giants so they can clone new ones & cross hybridize them with reptiles, wolves & other animals just like in the Island of Dr Moreau which was written by a Satanist named HG Wells who also wrote War of the Worlds. The elite are supposedly from the Cain bloodline. They believe they are descendants of Cain who they believe was fathered by Satan in Eden. Is Cain Vladimir the Impaler aka Dracula ? Prince Charles says he is a descendant of Vlad & he owns homes in Transylvania. Are they real life vampires ? Yes I think they are but not like the ones in the fictional movies. They can have children, they can go out in the daylight, they can't shapeshift & off course they do have have a reflection. Have they been alive for thousands of years stepping on & off the world stage ? Have they controlled all of the empires including the 8th which is the US ? David Rockefeller said "All we need is the right crisis & the nations will accept the NWO. The last 4 presidents including the current puppet Obama have used the term NWO !!! Obama is not a Muslim he is one of the oligarchy bloodline of Satanist families.
If you think the Supernatural is not real then you haven't done the research. Why is it that almost every music star mentions the Devil in at least one of their songs ? Oh yes, they made deals with the Devil just as Faust did.
The Good News is eventually Jehovah will give Jesus aka the Archangel the command to return for Armageddon. YES JESUS CHRIST IS MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL THE FIRST BORN OF ALL CREATION & SATAN HATES HIM ! Is Cain the Antichrist ?
The TRUTH is stranger than fiction so keep your stupid tin foil hat comments to yourself :)
All the world's a stage & all of the men & women in the public eye are role players for Lucifer aka Satan aka Allah.
Things will get horrific & only those with true faith will remain faithful.
Jehovah God Almighty & his first born of all creation are watching & judging......The question is do you have real faith or are you a coward ?

In an irony fit for the big screen, executives were onboard Deepwater on 20 April when the explosions wracked the vessel, celebrating seven straight years without serious accidents. However, US federal data revealed that "three of every four incidents that triggered federal investigations into safety and other problems on deepwater drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico since 2008 have been on rigs operated by Transocean."
Mike Williams, an electronics technician (and Wahlberg's character in the cinematic take on the events) later testified he had raised concerns about safety.
The resulting oil spill saw around 780,000 cubic meters of oil gush into the waters, impacting 180,000 square kilometers of ocean. The sludge spread, affecting beaches, wetlands, and wildlife.
Oil gushed out of the well for a staggering 87 days, as repeated attempts to plug the hole failed. Other efforts to control the spill included controlled burns, setting the seas on fire, while skipper ships attempted to scoop the oil out of the water. The leak was plugged on July 15 and eventually, on September 19 the well was declared "officially dead" by US Coast Guard admiral Thad Allen, after cement was pumped in through a relief well.
The final report into the Deepwater disaster found BP was most to blame, though also held Transocean and contractor Halliburton to account - the latter for laying faulty cement in the well to begin with.
However, it ultimately determined BP made "a series of decisions that complicated cementing operations, added risk, and may have contributed to the ultimate failure of the cement job", which in turn allowed such a catastrophic volume of oil to flood the ocean. Darkly, BP's shares actually rose after the report, reportedly based on the fact it wasn't solely responsible for the disaster.
The impact of the spill is still being felt, though. The Deepwater Horizon incident ended up being the largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, and recent studies have found the pollution has lead to deformities in fish stocks in the area. The ecosystem is expected to take years to recover.

This was pretty much completely BP's fault and they haven't imprisoned one single executive. BP has been fined but they've written off a lot of it in taxes, so the taxpayer is footing the bill for their crimes. The single largest unrecovered oil spill in the history of mankind.

I just saw this at TIFF and I have to say that in my opinion they do an incredible job of explaining exactly why it happened, actually the entire build up to the disaster focuses on the pressure for the team to meet their schedule from BP and how they (BP) were trying to find ways around the tests they were meant to carry out to ensure safety, when the workers on the rig did not agree. It does not paint BP in a pretty light at all.

Either BP paid for this entire film, or Summit Entertainment would have had to have had permission to make the film. If the latter is the case, obviously BP gave it to them. Do you really think they allowed it without acquiring a percentage? You know EXACTLY what this movie is? BP is trying to show the world that they only hire hard working family men who are all kind hearted heroes. They're also going to show that what happened on the rig was purely inevitable, could have happened to anybody, and wasn't completely their fault. Thus providing BP a ground to rebuild from. Do I blame them? Of course not.

No, they admitted to it being preventable...miss, please, don't be so accusatory. Justice has been served to BP and now its stuck in our history as a film, and as well, a piece of time. Its unchangeable, and if they make a film about it, why complain!? Its educating the younger and future generations to come, of the mistakes we made as people. Is it not? BP took responsibility, and even say what they did not do to allow this to occur. ON THEIR SITE. They are not hiding it, they are letting it out. Accusing something without any evidence or reinforcement is a stupid, stupid thing to do.

Damn, that's what I call a really good trailer ! Not too long, simple and efficient. I juste love when trailer work good like that ! impatient for this movie !

I hope the plot twist is that the dinosaurs aren't just a metaphor and Wahlberg will have to fight an actual dinosaur at the end of the film I mean flick.

Lol that's exactly what I was thinking. When it was just oil that busted through I was disappointed. Nobody cares about some drama/action movie about an oil rig catching fire. The writers for Armageddon figured it out. Put the oil rig on an asteroid with a Nuke and a deadline along with humanity's existence on the line lol. They should rethink this and go with dragons or dinosaurs :-P
