Who else agrees with me that Need For Speed High Stakes has amazing looking cars?
It did have some pretty well-detailed car models. A lot more detailed than Gran Turismo 1 & 2. Although it probably put more load on the PS1 since High Stakes had a pretty terrible frame rate compared to GT.
I don't even agree about that but i agree that it was the best NFS ever created.

Probably the last memory I had with my grandmother, playing splitscreen on Dophine cove on ps1. She passed away due to cancer a short while after.
She was the only one that would ever play a game with me in my family. I miss her.

When I listen to this music and see them graphics😭 my whole childhood is based on this game. And my interests in cars till today, its unbelievable. Btw I was 3-4 years old when my dad gave me that game on a burned disc back in 2000-2001. this is stunning me fr🤯

I remember having played this in multiplayer mode, High Stakes, with my best friend. I lost my McLaren and it was transferred to his Memory Card.

Very easy to beat if you ask me, the other ones were unplayable mess. High Stakes was by far the best developed ones of the PS1 ports.

buggat absolutely! The music made this game stand out from the rest. Rom Di Prisco has numerous tracks on this and NFS 3 that just made this game memorable! We might not even notice it (the music) but it just combines with the driving and atmosphere of the game to elevate the experience that I have not seen replicated to date!
We used to play this game with my cousin until the morning. Unfortunately, my cousin is not among us now. The soundtrack of the play takes me to my childhood :(
1:14 I just bought need for speed 2015, when I was in the garage tuning my car and this song played, I just froze, and the joy mixed with nostalgia took me by surprise. it was mind blowing.

this games were like drugs i never ever felt the same as the first time playing ps1 or older consoles, this is one of my fav games for ps1 but they were tons of great games back then like test drive 6, gran turismo, need for speed porsche unleashed and many more ea had something special the music the production was top notch and i remember searching for cheatcodes lol like the hotroad one or phantom good times indeed
1999, me 7 year old sitting in the front of my TV and playing this game on PS1. The best time in my life.
Its been so long where i forgot that the helicopter was a playable vehicle.
I had this on PS, then seen it on the shelf at Walmart, for the PC. I instantly jumped on that. Everything was so much better and you could select what type of headlights you wanted. I miss cruising in a realistic manner in a black corvette at night in Canada. Using my turn signals, switching from hi-beam to low-beam. Switching on the hazards and just being amazed at the graphics and sounds of the game.
I remember getting all cars upgraded and all the gold trophies! What a rush it was!
This was/is a GAME - Legendary!

this game single handedly made me a fan of the mclaren f1. the longtail version to be exact. it wasnt until later that i found out there were two version of the F1, which is why the normal "short" tail version always looked wrong to me at first. now i have both versions in 1:18 form lol

I noticed lots of the car models have aged well in this game and are now seen as modern classics; some considered better looking than their modern counterparts. e39 M5, 993 Porsche, clk gtr, 550 maranello, mclaren ft GTR long tail, etc.

This was my favorite nfs of all time. I remember starting career mode with the bmw Z3. The mercedes clk gtr was my fav. Good Memories and the best racing soundtracks ever.
My favorite car was the basic Z3 in blue, I always stayed in the show room looking at it before playing.

Australian pal version has some more cars, like the Holden HSV and Ford falcon XR8. Also a V8 supercar style HSV. Cool vid but man love this game
