There's something about the menus of this game that I absolutely adore. As a kid I used to stay in the menus browsing the cars and listening to the fantastic music just as much as I played the races.
You hit the memory central, just like drugs hit the dopamine, rofl. Same, man. Back when developers thoroughly cared about their games overall quality. There are no tracks to skip. Almost every original PlayStation game soundtracks were carefully crafted and designed. We, 90's kids are blessed with these. Bought my first PlayStation back in '98, reminiscing the fuck out of it till to this day.
I feel the same way. The way the menu is designed in this version of NFS:HS is very simplistic yet professional, and gives off a mysterious vibe; a surreal showroom of cars with car manufacture slowly displaying itself on the screen as the car, with its lights on, lights up into view from pitch black rotating slowly. This is what I call giving the players just the right amount of information.
I remember how hard was this for me in the psx (12 years ago). But when I finally beat nemesis and bullit in this championship I felt realized for an entire month, the best achievement in my life (those times)
bring back my childhood memories.. my fav racing game beside granturismo saga. it was the most realistic with damage to car and environtment, gorgeous showroom, incredible soundtrack and the sound FX was very nice for ps1. i was fed up to race with mclaren on last championship, because it's a fast car and the AI getting stronger. what a memory!
I remember when I was like 6 years old and i could not race this car, always crashing into the walls and stuff. Now I play this game on psx and I race the f1 gtr longtail like a boss. nice video man.
I miss this game so damn much. Instead of the controller, I had a steering wheel and gas/brake pedal combo system when I was younger, did pretty damn well with it. 😭
It seems that you didnt played NFS1 and 2 on PS1. They are both way more harder than this, both for the AI and the clunky controls. Bad track design doesnt help either.
@@sebastiankulche I just beat NFS 1 & 2 on ps1, never struggled harder to beat a race or tournament than his right here, pretty sure it's because I got by playing on automatic instead of manual all the way until this tournament. It's going to force me to play manual
@@scottdecowski4913 Or you just have so much free time or you dont remember how the game was. I literally spend hours to win a single race in both games. In comparison the 3do version i can win the three races in hard difficulty without too much effort.
This was my favorite race out of all. Listening to electro optik knowing this was the last race and if you don't finish first then what a crappy way to end the tournament.

I remember racing against this car in this game with, I believe a porsche 911 turbo. And lose consistently. I think I was like 7 or 8 at the time. But I finally beat it one day in single player. I thought would get the car but I didn't and it pissed me off. But this game made me fall in love with the McLaren F1 GTR. I hope they put it in GT sport. Hope.

worst *EVER* made is crazy, back in the day this McLaren was absolutely dominanting racetracks, Other teams had actually began investigating because they thought McLaren was using parts that weren't regulated for the races, but nope, all race-legal power. Not to mention, it looks cool.
I remember the PC version being pretty boring imo, I remember specifically the cars looking god-awful though, they made the cars look like toy hotwheels which did not fit the sim-cade racing vibe that I assume they were going for.

Need For Speed High Stakes and Gran Turismo 2 both these racing games hold a special place in my heart!

Top tip for passing this brutal final test: Cockpit cam. Helps you take the corners way better.
