The best race game ever.... I still play it in my phone with PS1 emulator for android
Pure nostalgia, 11 yrld me loved playing this game on my ps1 over weekends and school holidays in the 2000s 🥹 used to get so frustrated and restart some races sometimes, lol! Finished the game more times than I can remember.
its impressive how well done and polished this game was made, beatifull visuals and places!!!!!! I use to race while hearing Helloween!

I think High Stakes was what Hot Pursuit wanted to be but with more time development and less of a fictional take on the overall design of the game. High Stakes was like a more serious version of Hot Pursuit without the jumpy and fictional aesthetic to it.
The police used to terrify me when I was a kid when they shows up from nowhere 😂. And it really difficult to win
I used to play the France track a lot and set the group to all M5's, the chaos that ensued was hilarious, the computer cars bottlenecked in one section so that bad that it launched the grey-blue M5 into the air and it landed sideways clipping my rear trunk.
favorite map was the one with the light house in the evening. i remember beating this back in the day.

This was my first NFS back around 1999 or 2000. Feels weird seeing the American version, always been used to the Australian version.

Why are the car models in the PS1 better than the PC version? Anyway, still enjoyed the crap out of this game growing up.

I rember that game very well , the damage you was taking during race made you try to not just win the race but do it relatively cleanly or no damage at all since cost of repairs sometimes covered prize money and last race of CLK vs McLaren was mentally difficult , i even put it on description in one of my vids after beating Sigrun in God of War that out of many games where final boss was a struggle , NFS high stakes last event was equivalent of Sigrun...tries tries tries ...fails fails fails...when you finally beat last race you go Wooooo-Hoooo !!! 😂
P.s i had a glitch , collided with porshe 911 with oncoming traffic and it went in the skies for around 30 seconds spinning like a yo-yo , it came down eventually with 100% damage taken 😁
