    Hello,
    Thanks for the tutorial.
    I used your method and it works fine for my polo.

    Thank you again good sir. I had this very question as I plan on doing this very same job this spring when it gets a bit warmer up here in Canada.
    Keep up the good work!

    just bought myself a golf r estate mk7 im guessing it would be the same just pull them off?? thought about going black as the car is in tornado red. i think it would sit nicely.

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 2 lety

      Hope it does. I heard starting from the MK7.5, the tips are fixed. You will need to fact check me but good luck. Wish we had the estate here, definitely need the extra space!! Good luck and enjoy your R!

    Is this possible on a 7.5?

    I have a 2015 s3 and want to get black covers also. Are they the same size? And jus to double check do you know the measurements of the tips?

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 2 lety

      I believe they also can come off, but I don't own an S3. Maybe check the forums just to make sure if anybody else has done it.

    Does it make it look bigger

    MK7.5R has the tips welded on, can’t just slip them off like on the MK7R

    The black does look nice, but to be honest the only way they will stay in nice shape is if you send them out to be powder coated. Spray paint just won't last longer term.

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 4 lety

      Yeah I agree with you in terms of powder-coating them. However I went for the cost efficient route - and so far, so good. I don't doubt you though - I have a feeling it won't be long-term and might require some touching up.

    Anyone any idea were I can purchase replacement ones? Mine are black and I want the original ones again

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 3 lety

      Probably need to source it out from OEM catback - or possibly contact your dealership?

  • @Herbotis
    @Herbotis Před 4 lety +1

    I ended up taking a hammer and hitting the rear lip to get these off. I tried wiggling it out but mine were in there pretty tightly. Probably because all those rocks!

    • @ilimit

    How did you clean the chrome exhaust tips ? Mine just go black because of the carbon accumulation and I can't get them shiny... Do you use any products ?

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 2 lety +1

      Someone from the forums recommended Bar Keepers Friend. It definitely works. Make sure to use a damp cloth to fully wipe away the residue. Hope it works!

    Could tell me the size of these tips

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 4 lety +1

      Joseph - these are stock exhaust tips from the golf R. Not sure about the size. They are oval shaped, so maybe 3.25 -3.50" horizontal. Don't quote me

    The sound of your exhaust now is much better?

    • @ilimit
      @ilimit  Před 4 lety

      It's the same. A bit more sound after removing the stock resonator. Need an aftermarket system 🤔
