I think Willem Dafoe, more than any other actor I've seen interviews of, is really geniune and gives you an open door to a glimpse of what his thought process is and what he's trying to accomplish as an actor. Very few artists show the kind of openness and vulnerability that he does.

@Leo Peridot I've watched many actors interviews; many of them, in fact, done by James Lipton on INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO. Willem just strikes me as very candid and open with his processes. Real. Not saying other actors are faking it or keep alot more filters up. It's just a vibe I get that seems different. Listening to him is as entertaining as looking at him. It must be his life on the theater that has granted him so fine a control over his tone. Willem, is up there with some other greats like Hopkins in his ability to use more than just his physicality to bring a character to life.

My father was both. He passed away a few years ago & at his funeral we had dozens of photos of him displayed with a couple photos of Willem Dafoe mixed in for yuks. Many of his closest friends & family didn't even noticed until they were let in on the joke.
