- A third of the ways to die in Space Quest I: The Sarien Encoutner.
Not much to say here except that this concludes my work on the Space Quest Series. If you wish to see the deaths for the original look for "Roger Wilco Dies A Lot in Space Quest." - Zábava
Those death messages are some of the most creative things I've seen. I wish modern games would do more of that.
"Buckle up for safety, buckle up." Ha-ha, this is brilliant.
The instant replay death is priceless.
Roger Wilco's Goofy Holler is the best. Nevermind how we heard it in a vacuum.
Death at 1:40 is just horrifying to me. The concept, the picture, the damn death tune, everything
It'd make a good reaction image though.
Funny, I find it hilarious.
1:40
When you bust but she keeps sucking.
@@Willllow When you take a nut cracker figuratively:
MrWhitman, I wanted to thank you. I never heard of Space Quest before, but after randomly watching this video I bought the collection on Steam. I just hope I didn't spoil too much by watching a few minutes of this.
2:21 Who knew Roger could scream like Goofy?
2:20
when i was a little kid, i played this and didnt understand English at all. i got all of death scenes and quited when i went to the Mars. my memorable death scene is going to the space without a space suit and explosion, what a funny. thats my first time to learn about the space and vacuum. thank you MrWhitman
2:20 XDDDDDDDDDDD I LOVE THIS GOOFY SCREAM! XDDDDDDDDD
Aaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaahaaaahaaaahooooooeyyyyyyy!
I love the music that plays while you're in the escape pod (and not having pressed the Auto Nav button). Love the music in the Orat cave too!
It's funny how Roger's outfit is different in the death message matching what he was wearing at that time, when the Grim Reaper is holding him in his bony hand.
Heh, old habits die hard - I found myself clicking on the dialog boxes a couple of times when I had finished reading. =)
Thanks for posting this!
4:14 = You'll just float along on inertia with no control of your attitude or destination.
Running out of fuel must make him a crabby little dude!
Starvation sucks!
To be fair, the ship IS going to crash on a planet. I'd imagine crashing with no seat belt on going 10 times faster than a car is going to turn anyone into road pizza.
That death sound effect + music is hilarious
You know, the strange thing is after playing Space Quest 4 and 6, I keep imagining Gary Owens doing the voice of the narrators. Even when there IS no voice. He was that good. :D
1:42 AKSHAULLY your skin is strong enough to hold you in, you would however lose all the air in your lungs, your food from your gut and anything from any other orrafice, it’s pretty gross but you would have 10 seconds or so of being awake before you pass out and suffocate.
Charmed him suffocating has the same effect so why not be accurate
Oh god that's even _worse_ than just expanding and popping
"Bad news travel fast - especially when it's in the form of a shock wave." - Drill Instructor
Roger: *Proceeds to drive without a seat belt.*
The Grim Reaper: *jumpscares*
Buckle up, kids!
4:14 I know the feeling. I too have no control over my attitude when my car runs out of fuel - and thus can never be a spaceship pilot.
can picture just some fellow geeks having a blast writing and programming this stuff
Ah man, I used to watch these videos all the time in like...2009-10? I was probably a little too young to watch the brutal deaths that were common with Sierra games, but eh.
Poor Wilco
Cursed by the hands of MrWhitman xD
Good videos
Keep going
How-He-Blew-It Cam(tm) was the greatest thing ever.
That instant replay is awesome. Now I want to play these games again. Good thing I got the Space Quest collection on Steam when it was on sale!
2:20 GOOFY HOLLER
this game is genius
lol the ending ... so funny ! xD
at 2:20 is that scream goofy's? lol
2:56 "Man, hyperspace always look so freaky" XD
8:23 GOOFY HOLLER
That final one was seriously too funny for it to be good. xD
The vacuum death is actually a myth which, we have evidence which shows that in said event all the air would be sucked out. Fortunately you don't explode but it's most certainly an uncomfortable experience having the air sucked from your lungs.
I remember owning the original game of this... such fun times :D it was one of the first games I remember playing as a wee lad.
that last death was freaking hilarious
lol at him screaming at 8:23 :P
2:46 JOLLY, CANDY-LIKE BUTTON!
WILL HE HOLD OUT, FOLKS???
*CAN* HE HOLD OUT???
8:27
gotta love how the game sits there saying somthing along the lines of "why did you do that, you fucking idiot!" for around a muinute.
8:27
EXACTLY a minute.
Whats with the 2 guys from Andromeda being there?
It's all of them.
don't worry too much. i decided to start narrating some of these and i'll be sure to bring back that classic moment for everyone to relish, myself included ;)
Can't believe this video is almost 12 years old now...
I credit this to discovering my love for humourous video game deaths.
These deaths are so brutal
I got it over ten years ago. It didn't even have Space Quest VI.
I like the little icons when you die,it's like the 5 version of 3 ones.
Wait... what? The game killed you for not buckling up or did I just miss something there?
As a matter of fact, the game did.
8:43: sadly, that applies today, considering how many old franchises are getting shat upon.
They're Mike Crowe and Scott Murphy, the Two Guys from Andromida and the creators of the Space Quest series.
If you want to see the deaths in the original Space Quest 1 see: Roger Wilco Dies a Lot in Space Quest 1 .
I'm amazed they could use the Goofy yell at 2:19 without getting sued by Disney. Probably a public domain sound.
Terran Empire symbol at 1:35
@Rainbowdragon2 It's the shock that does you in. Plus you'd likely pass out from the pain and then death would come in one way or another.
I said OVER ten years ago. I had to buy Space Quest IV seperately. It's obvious that the one you got wasn't the one that I got.
Of course, it's not like you were missing much.
Oh-HO!!
The reason for that "the lawyers come out to feed" remark is that Sierra HAS been sued a few times for copyright and/or trademark infringement by the various companies that they lampooned in the "Space Quest" series. Just two of the companies that had sued Sierra:
Radio Shack for Sierra's inclusion of Radio Shock (which had to be renamed "Hz So Good") in Space Quest 4
Toys -R- Us for Sierra's inclusion of Droids -R- Us (renamed Droids -B- Us) in the original Space Quest 1
I've watched the death scenes too, I found those scary too!
@Anthip If the impact doesn't kill you first, the intense speed can.
Comment removed by Scott and Mark's lawyers
Instant Replay!
I miss the narrator from SQ IV.
@thomas007 Does that artificial gravity do the job, or what?
Darned if I remember. I think it was just Space Quest Collection.
I don't know... That was under somewhat different circumstances. After all, that was a malfunctioning spacesuit, while the example in the game is with no spacesuit at all. I think a malfunctioning spacesuit would expose you to the vacuum of space gradualy, unlike just walking in and getting the vacuum all at once.
Then again, I'm not sure going from an air to an airless area with no spacesuit would make you explode. Expand due to lack of air pressure, maybe. but explode? Probably not.
the remakes don't look so bad
8:20 onwards - Funniest stuff ever. :P
8:23
Now, here's the thing. I don't understand why this is a "death."
Sure, by game design standards, it would be a death, but generally speaking... Roger didn't enter the acid. It looked like he dipped his fingers into it, and somehow, his entire hand was burnt off.
Even if he lost his right hand, he would still be able to function, just not as efficiently.
I ment that in a good way, guys. Just so you know.
Funny death scenes: 1:23, 1:41, 2:08, 2:22, 5:02, 7:08, 8:16, and 9:28.
I found the game but my hypercam doesn't record it very well as it leaves out messages and the commands. Is there another free service you think I could use?
@somedaythewave Your failer to buckle up when the ship lunch you where lunch with it out the window!
Good job hero....
Same thing happens to me...
He was a damn good narrator
2:45-3:59.....
Amazing
2:20: Seems like Goofy went to the place where once no one could hear screams lol.
6:45 You’ve been turned into a basketball. And also, you’re dead. 😂
Sierra is the undisputed KING of these games!
1:40 death so terrifying
It didn't come with the collection that I bought years ago.
Unfortunately no, I don't have the original.
Lol I was wondering the same thing!
Those are the Two Guys From Andromeda.
2:55 trippy colors be like
What? There's a Space Quest 0? Where?
2:20 Goofy Holler
2:42 Give me a break!!!
No, it's not Roger. I think it's an alien mortician.
jtd786 who?
Mommy!!!!
Well a person would probably not want to die , but that is better than being in a relationship with an untrustworthy person .
I know it's late to answer this but don't you die trying to play the cassette in the Arcada like it did in the original?
SRHinckley No, in this game you just can't do it. For one reason or another, the programmers took it out of the remake.
Is it possible for you to upload the death scenes from the Tex Murphy series?
Where can I get the games?
MrWhitman You can get them on Steam or GOG, I've just bought them on Steam last night. :)
I suppose so, it won't be until next year though.
Thanks.
2:19
Goofy has a twin?
8:04 I've seen enough hentai to know what's happening next...
i'd like it better if they actually played up to that part, instead of stopping you right then and there
Sierra folk were very cruel :P
Wow! And I thought the Crash Bandicoot games had the funniest deaths in video games!
And chalkboard!
3:11 3:12 3:13 3:14 did we just end up in daventry from kings quest
why does this look ALOT like space quest IV?
It was built using the Space Quest 4 engine
Um what time travel
5:25 - I hate this little guy.
7:09 Excuse me?
@Akriloth2160 That depends on when you last saved. If you saved on the screen just before you die, you go back only that far. If you didn't save at all, then you go back to the beginning of the game.
