Never in a million years have I thought I wanted a prius, but now? You better believe I want this thing.
same here. holy.
I like it but I think the name Prius has a bad reputation for being an ugly boring car. They could have given it a different name
Took you a while 🤡
I still don't want one, but I can't argue the fuel economy be wild 😭
Good CZcamsr salesmen can sell anything - even a Prius 😀.
After Toyota proved they could make an AWD hybrid Rav4 that gets to 60 in under 8 seconds and can get 40MPG, there was no reason for the Prius to be as slow as it was. This is finally a no-compromises Prius.
100% agree, the camry was doing the same mpg in le form, for the same money.
Rav4 prime did it in 5.6 seconds lol
Why not just get a Honda Civic SI and still get 40mpg .____. After seeing how efficient and fun a Civic SI can be I dont think I can ever go back to a Hybrid, not even this one. The average from multiple reviews has been 44mpg or so. Barely more than an SI with less power and less fun. Makes no sense.
@@TheWhisperingPenis Because a Civic SI is tiny compared to a Rav4 Hybrid, a SI is manual only, not everyone cares to "have fun" with their car but rather simply to get from Point A to Point B in comfort. You're comparing completely different types of cars.
Why get a Honda Civic SI when you can have a Tesla Model 3, it does everything better than a SI and is fun and more efficient, I don't think I can ever go back to a manual gas car....etc.
The more I look at the interior the more I actually like its simplicity. So many new cars are so busy and complicated and this has what you need, and nothing more. Having the display up high like that actually makes it usable and safer, you don't have to look down and take your eyes so far off the road.
The styling is actually really cool for a Prius and a modern Toyota. I think the best next move should be a mini pickup like the Maverick. I'd probably honestly take that over a Maverick.
All the Hyundais are like that, all busy and complicated.
@@Pepe-dq2ib even on the outside. The front ends of the new Hyundai have way too much going on. It's like a clash of too many design elements.
@@SerPurple51 the kids love it though. I think they got shit taste, but it's just my opinion.
i was just saying that to my wife. and it has knobs! dont need to look to adjust the audio or heat!!!
TBH, I really liked the old interior as well, you even see more of the road ahead and behind you + if you had a HUD, you did not have to get eyes off the road (no HUD option for the new one).
I can't wait to get my hands on PHV 2023 variant, but I feel it will be more of a sidegrade in a lot of aspects - bit bigger boot, more power, a bit more range, a ton more tire noise with 19" compared to older 15", higher power consumption for electric part etc.
I am really curious to see the new PHV, because even if Prius HEV looks really nice, it will pretty much live in the shadow of Corolla and Civic, that have pretty much the same power, same consumption, but are cheaper. Likewise, I am not even surprise Toyota won't sell Prius HEV in Europe, does not really make a sense, sales would be pretty abysmal.
I’m glad manufacturing have woken up to the fact that exterior styling is important
Wow, this is extremely impressive. 198HP and AWD, with a very stylized body. Toyota finally made the prius a nice vehicle.
Hell yeah! I never thought I would actually consider getting one 😂
The Prius has always been a well-engineered and highly durable vehicle, but now it has looks and power! I'm constantly searching for a reason to get rid of my 2012 Prius but it refuses to give me one. Didn't even have to get new brake pads until over 100k. Such a reliable and cost effective vehicle, probably the best engineered that Toyota sells in our market. Only gripe with mine is the seats aren't comfy enough for long trips.
The 2nd Gen is great too
Give your old prius to me
I’m gonna replace my dying 2007 Prius with this - that said 16 years is damn good, was well worth the money.
I would take care of your 2012 Prius
That’s reliability right there!
This has to be the best car out there all things considered. Good price, nice looks, beautiful interior, good driving dynamics, extremely efficient, AWD, spacious, and bomb-proof reliability.
Amazing. It has all what he should have. MPG, appearance, power, functionality, all perfect. I would say that it is the best car launched by Toyota in 2023.
I hate to admit this, but this is how the Prius should have been from the beginning. Toyota is taking that "no more boring cars" statement to heart, which is awesome to see.
Can't wait to be on the 5 year waiting list to get one of these
No joke. Here I am a year later, finding one on the lot that's not marked up 2-6K is proving to be basically impossible, and getting on a waitlist for one is measured in multiple months.
I've had a lot of Prius from traveling and renting cars. It's amazing how long a tank of gas lasts with city driving. Hybrid is the way to go.
Wow! The God Car.🧜♀️👩🤩💝🥰🥰🙋♀️
Faster 0-60 than the Integra
new civic hybrid is faster 0-60
check carwow review
@@Moonlight-hq3gi they don’t get the civic hybrid in the states, I don’t think…
@@Moonlight-hq3gi not the prime pruis
Rav 4 Prime 0-60 faster🤣
@@Newyen6MT 😂😂 prime rav4 flip over when you accelerate hard at corner
Dude, you are the best. Love how you focus on the things that matter and not on the glitz and glamour. Such as wheel size, 17" are better for road comfort and tire availability. No other reviews are this practical. Thank you!
Exactly, he tells us what we need to know without all the PR hype.
Alex on autos is also worth a look.
@@joshua9073 yup, he is good 👍
Toyota hit it out of the park with the exterior design of this car. It is very, very good looking.
... I like it. Not something I'd expect to say about a Prius.
It's so funny how I've never wanted a Prius, but now I'm actually very seriously wanting to buy one.
I bought one.
@@jackrose5077Hey congrats 🎉👏🏼👏🏼 How's it going?
You hands down have the best 2023 Prius review video ever you’re awesome 👏🏼
I am bouncing back and forth between the AWD and the Prime. Thanks for the drive around time. The sound was excellent in the video as well.
owned a Prius prime. It is only worth it if you drive over 100 miles round trip per day to work because the Prius gets good MPG as is. You have to factor in what you are saving in gas price vrs the extra money for prime
Man I love your car reviews...A+ style
Now this is what I call Prius envy.
I've looked at about 20 new 2023 Prius reviews and this is by far the best I've seen. I put money down on one this week and now waiting 4 to 6 months (at least) for delivery. I was able to find an LE AWD at MSRP.
My dealer also told me 4 to 6 months for delivery and then called two weeks later and told me they had the allotment for my car and it was being built. I should have it in two months.
How do you like it?
Great review as always. I find it interesting how you and TH have completely different opinions on the audio system.
Who is TH?
this is the 2023 ive been waiting for . way better than all the 4 years previous models.
Might be a weird thing to point out, but I found it so damn satisfying seeing you knock your shoes together before getting into the vehicle. I do the exact same thing. Lol
Also, never thought I'd say this... but... this new Prius is actually pretty cool.
Yup, I do it too I learned it from him a few years ago
I learned the ritual from him too. We’re basically grown into a little cult now😂
@@RealNameNeverUsed Welcome to the family 👪
AmmoNYC taught millions to knock your shoes before entering!
5:55 Might not want to get dust in the new prius I see.
Its a damn shame they stopped selling Prius in Australia with this generation! They finally made a desireable one :(
Great video. I'm loving your channel man. You get right to the driving and mention good details.
My favorite hybrid sedan!! Terrific job bro.
Thanks for the video. Wow. This car looks so beautiful and stylish.
I love the new redesign Prius and the interior looks great along with the exterior of the vehicle. Can’t wait to purchase one.😊
Del Mar! You’re in my neck of the woods!
Nice car! Very Impressive redesign. Thanks for a great review!
✌🏻😉✌🏻
best perspective ever!!! thanks!!!
Toyota's hybrid tech has come a long way.
Can’t wait for the Prius prime and your review and Always appreciate your audio review .
Honestly looks super cool. Great review too.
So far I have enjoyed your video the most of the many I have seen on this new Platform.
It's insane how good they made this latest generation look. I just wish we could get it in the yellow they showed in promotional pictures.
My father has a 2012 Prius he got brand new and hasnt had to do a single trip to the shop besides regular maintenance. Really tempted to get this one!
Thank you for the deep review. 👍🏼
I have a red one AWD, black interior and love it. I drive 90 miles a day very smooth drive. Very good video.
Chris, I want to see this excellent new drivetrain and suspension in a new Prius V. The 16 mpg penalty that comes with the Corolla Cross Hybrid is massive .
Or Toyota could bring the Corolla hybrid wagon to the US.
Can you please explain to a german man what you mean by 16 mpg penality?
@@stayphun6188 Im guessing you get 16 less MPG than the Prius
@@stevep4236 oh, that makes sense. Thanks
@@stayphun6188 54 miles per US gallon for the Prius with AWD vs 38 for the Corolla Cross or 4.36 litres per 100 km vs 6.19 😁
nice speedy bro!" and thanks for the POV review!
I am on a waiting list for one of these, wish me luck!
I like the design, the interior looks functional and unpretentious, the exterior looks sporty but not to aggressive, a great daily drive.
Toyota is still delivering quality.
the back finally looks good
Wow this car is beautiful!!!! Great review
Great to see you in San Diego man! Would have loved to take you out for a bite and pick your brain over how your channel has grown since winding road magazine.
Had my buddy in sales put me on the list for the Prime as soon as I saw it. Can't wait to get one.
Thanks to my job as a Toyota tech I've had lots of experience with these things. They finally got rid of most of the things I didn't like lmao
i use your driving videos to help me sleep at night as my white noise
Awesome powertrain and interior for the price, exterior styling is fantastic... man Toyota nailed this new generation. I might be picking one of these up used in a few years, wow!
Me too, if I can get hold of one as they wont sell this model in Sweden. Weird.
I just got the Prius Limited, sadly I couldn't get the AWD, but it's a fabulous car and I'm in love
now, this is a good looking prius!
Only when you see this in person do you really appreciate the styling
I have a total of 11 vehicles from the age of 18 until today. I have owned all aggressive german models and American models. In fact, one of my vehicles had 568 hp. A custom made Mustang!
But my job changed and then I needed an economy car. I bought a Prius in 2020. I became a long haul delivery courier. I just changed the oil, water and wheels of the vehicle and now my vehicle has 290 thousand miles. In my opinion, a car should be a model that saves money while costing the least amount of money. that's why the prius is sweet!
I guess hell just froze over. I would actually consider this car. It looks like a car finally. I would not be embarrassed to park one in my driveway.
Nice job Toyota.
Seeing one of these in person in traffic was love at first sight
Hi, thanks for this video ! I've got a CH'R and it's a pleasure to drive everyday. I think that Toyota have a big thing with this new Prius. I can't wait to see this car in real :-)
Thanks for the video very nice
You "bump your feets together" before entering a vehicle , that makes you my homeboy .
We have a celica and what I love about it is when your in the back seat your head is under the back glass.
You passed the gas station I go to to get a soda after work. :) Enjoy San Diego :)
I love your super fast 'twenty-twenty-three'
I had that special tire size situation, where they cost 50% more than common tires, with my little Subaru Justy which cost around $7,300 in 1990 and was a popular car and one of the cheapest but most highly rated sub-compacts at the time. But if I had the over $30,000 to spend on a car that the baseline model 2023 Prius costs, I might consider it anyway, because it is otherwise so good looking and well built, probably. It's funny how much I liked stylish cars as a kid, but when I learned to drive myself, because i learned on my mother's VW Beetle, I got used to small, cheap, efficient cars and the idea of style, well, that's for people with more money.
Styling reminds me of the Honda CRZ. Great review
I want a Prius. I never thought I would say those words.
it looks cool, I like this one
Finally no more annoying beeping sound when you put it in reverse!!!
already put my order in
I love so much about this car. Just a bummer that the rear headroom and cargo capacity is reduced. The previous model was surprisingly roomy and that was always fun to work with.
i test drove it and the entire car was a blind spot. so uncomfy driving it. it was what i came in wanting! i got the camry :))
Already put a deposit down on one. Can’t wait for them to arrive
I really am going to order one.
This is awesome
I have a 2010 prius and I want this car!
Me: "It doesn't beep obnoxiously when it goes in reverse! That's a good enough reason to buy the new one!"
Yeah but now it has Lane keep and other intrusive "safety" features right?
@@RennieAsh Sure, but at least you could disable the stuff... maybe... right...? Lol
Glad to see the Topher’s opinion on this car. Kind of weird that the door mirrors no longer have integrated turn signal indicators…
Very nice. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 About time they hit the nail on the head! 😉
I'm definitely get this car. 🚗
i got a camaro 2ss 1le but i will for sure try to buy this as my winter daily
wow such power
I want one now
5:56 I do that shoes tap whenever I go into my cars as well. Lol
I listened to your video with my AirPods and Apple TV. I got close to the big screen and loved your point of view video, especially when you turn the radio on with the AirPods terrific sound! How tall are you?
Never thought I’d say I want a Prius, I’d wait for the prime tho.
Get ready for 4-5 figure mark-ups. Toyota only expects to sell around 35K annually, which is only slightly more than the outgoing model sold in 2021. My guess is that they won't produce a lot of them, creating a "shortage." Stealerships will take advantage of that.
I hope they are smart enough to adjust the production line based on demand. The Toyota Crown will not sell in my opinion so they can cut production of that and ramp up production on this. Even the "Bore-olla" should lose sales to the new Prius and if that happens I would like to see them cut production on the Corolla Hybrid as well.
Fortunately I've been on a list for a Camry Hybrid XSE for almost a year that the dealers haven't been able to provide so I think that moves me near the top of the list for any Prius. Hell I asked to get on that list before my dealer realized there was a new Prius coming.
@@TomTom-gn9mp Yeah I don't see the point of a Corolla hybrid when this is available.
its been a long tim since i liked the inside of a toyota.
Me when I was 12: I want an LFA!!
Me at 24: I want a Prius..
Life comes at you fast 😂
I wanted a 2002 Prius when I was 16. Now I have one...
What a good looking car
You do excellent videos thank you!
I actually quite want this prius, its good looking, has a futuristic feel to me it looks way better than the old gens, this is the one hybrid i'd honestly get. Its good as a daily id say, toyota has done out them selves, this is an actually good vehicle to drive honestly id say get this than the old gens.
BELLISSIMA
“Thirty grand out the door” 🤣🤣🤣 yeah okay
I LOVE This Car.
Can’t wait for the gr version!
damn i want this!
Toyota needs to make a Prius Crossover and Suv. It makes me want to get one
I drove one and it is like a magic carpet that is quick and tight and gets 57 mpg
Toyota's hybrids are the place to be right now. They made a great leap last generation and they're getting even better.
Topher, doing some 0 to 60 dragy runs in your reviews would be great!
Where are you? It almost looks like San Francisco. Beautiful view wherever you are. Nice car too.
Wow, nice prius
LOOK DAD ITS A FUTURE CAR
