      Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I love having a ton of buttons. The closer my interior looks to a fighter jet cockpit, the happier I am. I really like Teslas in a lot of ways, for example, but I cannot stand the emptiness of the Model 3 interior.

    I bought the supersonic red Limited a week ago. About 300 miles of mixed city and Highway driving. Loving the car and features. My only complaint is the head ducking needed to get into the seat. I had to change style of getting in: butt first, duck head and swing in legs. It gets some attention on the street.

    I enjoyed your review, thank you.
    We have a 2024 Prius Prime SE. I believe it's the equivalent to the LE sold in The US. Not sure if it's due to different markets (US vs Canada), or, if it's because this is a Prime version, but the SE here has standard equipment the LE lacks. For instance, our rear seat has an armrest, we have heated seats, steering wheel, and, automatic headlights. However, like your car the LED dash strip is missing and, I suspect, like with yours, the hatch lip lacks illumination.
    This is our first PHEV but third Prius. Our first two were almost flawless over 16 years and we feel confident the new one will be the same. Love the thing so far. Here in Canada we qualified for a $ 5,000 rebate, making the Prime the same cost as the regular model. In some provinces you'd get $ 8,500 in rebates !
    We wanted a Prime because gas here is $6.75 a gallon but hydro is only .1325kwh. After 6,000Km (3,750m), we have used less than 1.5 tanks of fuel. The car is rated for 44 miles (70.4Km), in EV Mode, but we are getting 90+Km. This morning, the computer estimated a 96Km range. The only highway trip so far returned 62mpg. And with its 223hp the thing is quick, 60 in 6.48.
    Hope you enjoy yours for many years.

    I really like your review, you have things in here that are not anywhere else. Just a little tidbits that come from carefully considering the features on the car. I am definitely considering getting the new Prius. I think I will go for the front wheel drive Limited it seems like the best way to get one is to buy one use with 4 to 6000 miles on it then you don’t have the long wait. I don’t know I would have to compare how much it would cost to buy it new compared to that way. I have not actually driven on one yet. I am wondering how easy it will be to get in for someone that is 6 foot tall and a large frame. @@Losttouchjs well I've noticed that when I opened the back seat just to look at it and closed it again that after getting where I was going it popped up a warning to check the seats. And the passenger side instead seems to have a red buckle up sign when I put my work gear on it even though I didn't open that door.

    17" rims make it look so small. I plan to add 18" rims on mine with about the same diameter as the OEM 19" rims and tires. My little experiment to see if the tire sensors will still work right at that size. Also to prove my point that 18" looks better than the 17" or 19".

      I hate large diameter rims. The roads destroy them, tires are super expensive and the car rides like a train.

      @@pittss2c601 In addition to this, if the wheels are larger, they weigh more and make the car agile and consume more fuel.

      I mean you can get the larger wheels on the higher end models, personally I prefer smaller wheels. I mean, bigger wheels only exist because they look cooler, otherwise they ride rougher, are more likely to get damaged, have more expensive tires, and consume more fuel. I mean Toyota's own estimate shows a loss of around 4-5mpg just from the bigger wheels. It actually has more impact than the AWD model does.

    So is that one the gas and electric, this is one of the best looking prius I actually like! I think the next gens should have a little button to push the tachometer and prop it up just enough to either bring it forward to see it underneath the steering wheel or push it back to put it above the steering wheel for taller people! That would be the way to go! Well Done Toyota!
    The side tray buy the console is for holding/charging your phone! :)

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 Před rokem +1

      It's only a wireless charger on the higher end models. For the LE the "#sidetray" is just a reminder you don't have the fancy model.
      And it's just a normal hybrid. There is a Prius Prime which is a plug in hybrid, but from what Toyota said to investors, they don't tend to make many of those. In theory if you only drive short distances a Prius Prime would allow nearly full EV driving. Downside is the plug in will get worse fuel economy if you do use gas.
      Still even if you can find the Prime, it's hard recommendation. I mean you will now need a place to charge it and it will take a long time to make up the extra cost. Honestly unless your state has an incentive for buying a plug in, it's not a great deal. It is $5K more so you'd have to drive over 80K miles on electric only to make up the price. It's a pretty poor deal.
      And if you really wanted the electric savings, you can get a Model 3 for only slightly more. The Prius Prime is $32,250, a Model 3 right now is about $36,500 after the tax credit. Downside to that is gas at least will give you the fast stop and fill up and longer range, but it is a close option.

    dealer told the you cant get a smart key in the LE. This is a base LE with no additional packages right? I just dont want to have to get out keys to get into car or start it. They really acted like you would have to use the fob to gain entry.

    Agreed, I don’t like leather/fake leather seats either and prefer cloth seats. It’s too bad all “higher” trims of Toyota vehicles upgrade you to leather.

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 Před rokem +1

      I personally got the lower end model about 2 weeks ago, more got it as the higher end models get low profile tires. My state has horrific roads so no matter what, not interested. Honestly I think fabric seats are more comfortable anyways and being in a temperate climate, leather seats are guaranteed to crack. Just a shame nobody makes vented fabric seats.
