  • We covered it all in this 48-minute generation 2.0 Tesla Model X Long Range review, from what went wrong with our older Model X P100Ds, the incentives that Tesla/Government gave to help make the purchase happen, performance launches on both, interior and exterior analysis and we discuss and demonstrate how good FSD has gotten.
    But that's not all-join us as we welcome Chris Rembolt @remboldt to share his thoughts and draw comparisons with the 2018 Tesla Model X P100D. In this 48:00 minute review and comparison, we covered it all truly exploring the evolution of Tesla's flagship SUV over the years.
    In the realm of electric vehicles, Tesla has been the pioneer, pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance. The 2023 Model X Long Range stands as a testament to Tesla's commitment to redefining electric mobility. From its futuristic design to unparalleled range capabilities, this SUV is a force to be reckoned with. In this review, we'll dissect its features, performance, and advancements, all while drawing insightful comparisons with its predecessor, the 2018 Model X P100D.
    The 2023 Model X Long Range, finished in the new striking Ultra Red, is a visual marvel. Join us as we explore the design evolution from the 2018 P100D to the present day. From the sleek lines and panoramic windshield to the distinctive Falcon Wing doors, every aspect of the exterior is meticulously examined. How has Tesla refined its design language, and does the Ultra Red color option add a new dimension to the Model X's aesthetic appeal? We also discuss the "hand built" build quality between the older cars and the quality of the ones rolling off the line today.
    Strap in as we delve into the heart of the matter-the performance and range of the 2023 Model X Long Range. With its advanced dual-motor electric powertrain, the Model X boasts an impressive range that challenges the limits of what electric vehicles can achieve. We'll conduct real-world performance tests, compare acceleration between the LR and P100D, and discuss the technological advancements that contribute to the Model X's exceptional performance. Chris and I were shocked at how well performance-wise it stacked up against the 2018 P100D in terms of speed, efficiency, and overall driving experience.
    Step inside the cabin, and you'll be greeted by Tesla's commitment to creating a futuristic and comfortable driving environment. We'll explore the Gen 2.0 changes in interior design, materials, and layout between the 2018 P100D and the 2023 Long Range. From the expansive touchscreen interface to the innovative features like Autopilot and Full Self-Driving capabilities, discover how Tesla has continued to raise the bar for in-car technology. We did discuss FSD, and it's absolutely incredible in this latest model. It literally drove us 72 miles without me having to take over once and this was on so very back roads as well.
    Our review wouldn't be complete without a detailed comparison between the 2023 Model X Long Range and its predecessor, the 2018 Model X P100D. We'll examine key aspects such as battery technology, charging capabilities, interior upgrades, and overall driving dynamics. How has Tesla refined its flagship SUV, and what lessons from the past have influenced the evolution of the Model X.
    We'll discuss how color impacts the overall perception of the vehicle, the maintenance considerations for each hue, and the personal preferences that come into play when choosing between these distinctive colors. Does the Ultra Red bring a new level of sophistication to the Model X, or does the timeless White retain its allure?
    Beyond the specs and performance, owning a Tesla is an experience in itself. We'll share insights into the ownership experience, from issues that went wrong with our used Model X P100Ds, charging infrastructure, and road trips, and software updates. How has Tesla addressed user feedback, and what improvements have been made to enhance the overall satisfaction of Model X owners.
    The 2023 Tesla Model X Long Range in Ultra Red is a testament to Tesla's unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric mobility, and our comparison with the 2018 Model X P100D provides valuable insights into the evolution of Tesla's flagship SUV.
    Join us in the comments section to share your thoughts, experiences, and what you'd like to see next on Driven Productions. Until next time, stay charged and stay driven!

      It was a promotion Tesla emailed/texted me, if I took delivery of the car by September. I told them late August I could not take delivery by then but would order if they extended it. A week later Tesla announced they extended the promotion to take delivery by end of year, and I completed the order in time to get one in 2023. Transferred the day I picked it up.

    Keeping your suspension at LOW creates the camber that allows for a more performance centric handling. The older Model Xs have a way to set your suspension levels. I had mine set to STANDARD until it hits 80mph then have it go to LOW.

    Great job on the video! I really enjoyed the comparison. I owned a 2016 Tesla Model X 90D, and let me tell you, that car gave me the blues with all the costly out-of-warranty repairs. From the mirror motor to the squeaky front suspension caused by not enough factory grease, and even the wheel fairing separating from the car in a car wash - it was one thing after another. The falcon door sensor misbehaving and needing a reset, and the center glass between the falcon doors blowing off on the highway without me knowing until I got home - it was quite the adventure. Not to mention the AC compressor going bad and the fact that cracked two ‘22 wheels at a whopping $2100 per wheel, not to mention needing new tires. Phew!
    Surprise! I still really miss my Model X, even though I sold it and bought an ‘18 BMW Alpina and added a ‘22 Ford F150 Raptor to my car collection. I miss my Tesla so much that I went for a test drive of the Model S two days ago, and confirmed I am still a Model X guy.
    I'm ready to get another X. Your comparison review has convinced me - it's time to plan for a 2023-24 Model X again. Also, watching the improvements and changes to the newer 2023 Model X was really exciting. Thanks for the great video!

    - Don’t like the wood grain look

      Well, you have the option to NOT BUY a model X! But then again, you likely can’t afford one anyway

    Stop blaming hand assembling.. a Rolls-Royce is hand assembled

    • @Driven-Productions
      @Driven-Productions  Před 3 měsíci +1

      True, but a Rolls ain’t mass produced. For every Rolls that was hand built back in the day, Tesla hobbled together 50 Model X’s if not more. Frankly, considering they invented their entire EV tech and car from scratch, it’s commendable build quality.

      Well context was the Titan truck driving in front of us with a human was far worse than FSD navigating that road. Maybe they were looking at their phone or just a bad driver who knows. Remember FSD is always driving 100% dialed looking at everything, and it will force you to take over if it can’t make the right call in the moment. Version 12 is scary good, you just have to experience it to get what I’m saying.

    Tesla X - 2 hours of driving and then 30-40 mins of charging - that's dismaying experience...
    No fast acceleration feature will compensate for such large losses of time while traveling.
    So the battery will degrade quickly. Inconvenient 2nd row door. In essence: expensive car of low resale value - 🤷‍♂
    EDIT - If buying Tesla, I would go for Y.

    • @Driven-Productions
      @Driven-Productions  Před 2 měsíci

      Well low resale value now due to sky high rates, but during Covid these held up well. The X is a way exotic car and bit more luxury, and frankly for what they cost today I just don’t see why anyone would buy the Y. I mean shoot you can get low mileage X’s for less than a Model Y now pretty easily.
