    What did Tesla change in the new refreshed 2022 Tesla Model X? Well we compare one to last years model and you would be surprised how much has changed. But is it worth waiting a year for one?

    Nicely done, good level of detail. You ignored the drive train, but I assume everyone knows about that or can see the changes in the Tesla specs on their web site. Personally, I would be reluctant to use the yoke. But even more important, I object to removing the control stalks. So if I wanted an X, I would try to find a good used one.
    The other factor, though, is the ride, noise, and audio, all of which are supposedly much better in the refreshed Models S and X. From what i have read, almost everyone agrees that the improved suspension and better noise control are significant improvements. The X I drove once (a loaner I had for 3 days) was pretty noisy. That might push me towards the new model if I could wait and could afford it.

    Like the refresh and we take delivery of our 2022 refresh plaid in a week. Although there are some differences between the 2 versions i don't believe either one is a bad choice.. We just went for the new one seeing the yoke was different. What we really wanted was the better visibility of the instrument cluster and the ease of getting in with a smaller steering wheel. Whether or not we will really like that once we take delivery is TBD, but for no very excited to get our new X in. This will be our first time going completely electric for all our vehicles (which are tesla TVs) so excited to see where the adventure goes and if we stick electric from hear on out...

    Since I have a 2017 with free charging, and both computers have been updated, I'm thinking to stay with the 2017 for now. However, my biggest question is whether I can put my golf clubs in the Frunk, which important to me. Also, I know that a prior upgrade softened the ride versus my 2017. That is important too.

    Keep in mind that the refresh started shipping in October as a 2021 and is exactly the vehicle your reviewed as the refresh. There were a few Xs of the last generation made in January 2021 that are also called 2021. There's NOT place that you can just decide to buy a brand new 2021. Tesla doesn't take orders for the previous generation and there aren't any inventory cars from Tesla that are new previous generation Xs. Maybe what you meant was that you can buy a used pre refresh whenever you want and you'll likely spend more than if you just order a new X and wait for it.

    Generally, I like the updates to the Model X Refresh. They're what I was waiting for before I got rid of my 2016 Model X. I'm a little disappointed in the smaller frunk. I'm very disappointed in the lighting changes. (I may have to do some investigation into changing them if the aftermarket doesn't come up with something soon.) The one thing I definitely do not like on the 2022 is the front door handles. The older ones were so convenient to use. But I guess you can't have everything.

    • @theadventureinsider
      @theadventureinsider Před 2 lety

      All door handles are electronic so button just makes far more sense IMO. I really didn;t like the old handles because they were positioned right at the corner and the amount of torque you could possibly apply to that thick handle was annoyingly less than the torque you could apply to a normal interior handle.

    In the Netherlands I can buy a second hand very nice (100D 417 hp) Tesla X for half of the new price. Seeing the small difference and to be fair, the differences are clearly motivated by to elements; 1. Feedback of customers and 2 production optimization. The small changes on the customers sides are very minor. Yes having a coat hanging is nice…. As for the production optimization I see the original version as the more luxe model than the new one... So to buy a new one, versus the older model (with around 100k km) for half the price (knowing a Tesla X is proving to drive 500.000km) is a easy choice for me…

  • @Andi_ch
    @Andi_ch Před rokem

    nice review.
    just took ownership of my plaid and had a few days to compare the differences...
    most annoying:
    - the rear lid for the second compartment in the back now is just a simple board, no way to fix or align it. feels very cheap.
    - the front dash/display is looking awesome but can't be customized. No album covers, no trip info, no tire pressure... come on Tesla... it's just software
    - no more key fob. Yes, you can buy after POS or pair the phone. But it's not as efficient and reliable as a real key.
    - the new center display is great, but you cannot see (at least from my driving position) what is on the left bottom corner, since the yoke is in view of sight
    - cruise control distance is now buried in the software
    - I cannot release the charging cable manually anymore (only with the app or UI)
    basically I would wish , that Tesla is paying a bit more software attention to S and X and use the advantage for the front display. I'm aware it's all in for 3 and Y, but it I think they upset many owners by this strategy.
    Final Disclaimer 🙂: The car is awesome, efficiency is unbelievable, build and drive quality massively improved and I wouldn't trade it for another EV.

  • @BartekBartosiak
    @BartekBartosiak Před rokem +1

    Personal opinion, granted but:
    1. yoke sterring wheel is definitely something I'd opt out of - annoyance of a century by design and functionality. fail 😅
    2. Landscape centre screen, not for me either. UX fail. You are supposed to be able to reach all functions on the screen with ease, which worked well on the portrait screen. If it works, why change it?
    3. Air vents change. Seems like a downgrade of functionality.
    3. Redesign of the interior door. Why? X was always different and for that reason cool. It's now just as any other tesla 3 or Y, so downgraded in my eyes.
    I'd prefer a low mileage older much cooler version, than overpriced (now) refreshed-downgraded new version.
    Shame that it's gone backwards.

    The old front trunk can hold a set of golf clubs (barely). The new one can’t because they made it smaller. Functionally worthless. I won’t buy it.

    Sorry. I want a real steering wheel. And turn stalk and wiper stalk. Not everything Elon dreams of is 'the best'.

    I don’t support Tezlab after Ben Sullins completely trashed his reputation with the Tesla community first only being successful because of them and then trash talking community. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.. DONT SUPPORT Tezlab. Try Teslafi instead

    Your zooming in too much. We cant even see the thing your mentioning because you have the camera cropped so tight up on you. This is painfully apparent in the breakdown of the rear.... Back the shot up please. We appreciate the videos but we are reviewing the tesla not you 😊

    Almost gave a thumb down. Your review is very superficial. You left so many things out. Your very long self advertising in the middle was annoying.
