i have overspray on a new paint job does this work with both clear & not clearcoated cuz i'm not sure mine was clear coated.

I ran over a oil spray can it popped and now there is red oil paint all on the side of my car. Specs all down the side and on the hubcaps as well. Toyota Corolla hybrid . How can i remove it without damaging the clear coat.
Tell me one thing that I have sprayed on my bike visor and it already sprayed slidely on side guards... This problem has been almost 4months earlier.... So how I remove that side guards spray paint...... It's black paint on it..... Tell me the solution...
Is this applicable towards black plastic on fenders?
If the plastic has texture too it, the clay bar would probably just make a mess. It's really more for very smooth surfaces like clear coat or glass.

That’s just because the overspray is from many passes and it isn’t bonded together. It worked on mine

as long as you wash the area before starting, use plenty of spray and rub gently this method shouldn't leave any scratches.

can i use soapy water to lub the clay bar?
I've used that in a pinch before and from what I've heard it's not uncommon to do so. I used a soap made for washing cars though since they tend not to dry out the paint as much as a dish soap would for example. Also, I made sure the ratio of soap and water was nice and slick. No matter what you use just make sure the car is as clean of dirt and dust as possible before starting and it's not likely it would cause any problems.
Also whats the distance overspray can travel? Whats the safe distance to spray paint from?
A long fucking way, I was color matching my mirrors had everything taped up with news paper on one side of my truck and it somehow managed to travel in the wind to the other side :(
Exactly. It can travel way farther than I first imagined. Which is how my car ended up covered in it.
If your painting one side of the vehicle it can reach over the hood roof trunk rims etc etc especially if you are in an enclosed area
I'm late to answer but I can tell you that shit will go a hell of alot further then the other side of your car my coworker sprayed our shop and got it on 5 vehicles located about 50 yards away... I just painted a large sign to big to fit in the paint booth and it went around or over the shop and got all over a 70000 gmc parked in the damn parking lot

Just sand it with 1000 grit, clean with PRECLEAN (found in a paint shop) and clear coat it. Slowly, about 7 inches away from the car

Absolutely! Just follow the same guidelines of making sure the windows are clean before you start like you would with the painted surface so there's minimal risk of any dirt scratching the glass. Everytime I clay bar my paint I do my windows too. 😁👍
What detailing spray did you use sir?
I used chemical guys brand, but any brand should work fine

How long did the overspray sit on there? Mines been on for 3 months
Mine was on for a year at least. Maybe even two. The car was being stored long term in my garage and I didn't bother removing the over spray until I got it running again.
@@TheBudgetMindedMotoristmine has been for about 2 years in the Sun daily and it was harsh paint not water based like industrial paint hopefully it works

Sometimes the solvents in car wax can help soften the over spray with a little elbow grease depending on the type of paint it's from. But If neither of these methods removes the over spray, I'd probably consider having a paint and body tech see what they can do. I'm sure it can be removed but it might require some more aggressive methods that are probably best left to a professional. Clear coat is pretty tough in many ways but can also be easily damaged by the wrong technique.

Should be. I've used clay bars on my lights several times without issues

I am a detailer and there is different types of techniques to get any sort of overpay. I have used all techniques but I know the claybar has not picked up after 4 times of repeated up down left right motions soft and medium pressure and the result was very slim to none to take off ² by² inch area. There is another method to verifies of paint materials. This is the longest I have done verifies on any car and I have only the front bumper. Time is money and I have never been more than 4 hours on a car taking off overspray even on an entire vehicle if over spray. You have any times other than clay bar and polishing...
What is the process you suggest?

The dust came when i was driving in 120 KM and there was a sand storm
If the dust damaged the glass this might not help. A clay bar should remove what is stuck to the glass , but it won't fix pitting or other damage. I used a clay by to clean my windows when I detail my cars and it works pretty well at getting the glass clean.
Thoughts on the rubber clay?
