  • In this battlefield research video we show you some interesting war relics that we found in our last visit on the eastern front. Most interesting was the MP40 with full equipment that was buried and left behind in the woods by the soldier himself.
    Greetings from Holland.

    Hi Draven, this was our first MP40, but we already did find 2 MP44 a few years back. On the first 2 days of this search we didn't find a thing, later we got lucky and found the MP40, just never give up and continue searching.

    Hi Xred2, that 98K of yours is a real Leningrad relic. And a lot of Germans hunt for relics themselves, some collect, others sell them on ebay. We found 2 Stg's, one in the water, one in the Ardennes.

    Wow, great finds. I was lucky enough to have shot a Kar98 that was "Liberated" from the western front and made it's way to the states. It had a zeiss scope I think it was on the rifle and there was ammo from the same gun, and a sold buch, I think it was called, etc,. Anyway, it was very humbling to see this rifle that was purchased along with other things from a WW2 vet. I guess this vet said they didn't take SS prisoners. So, we used the original ammo and rifle that the ammo came with from the same German I was told. It was sighted in by my calculations for about 700 yards. It was very cool to shoot this rifle which was in excellent shape and one can only imagine what it had been thru and where it had been, etc,. History rocks! Thank you guys for this history and video's. Regards from the US / Indiana.. USA

    Dankje. In principe kun je overal zoeken, maar voor de omgeving Arnhem-Oosterbeek geldt nog steeds een detectorverbod volgens mij. Het is daarom af te raden daar wat te doen, zoekt ook erg vervelend als je steeds moet opletten.

  • @AlphaChinoz
    @AlphaChinoz Před 9 lety +6

    The word "Machine Gun" is so misused... The MP40 is a submachine gun/machine pistol and a machine gun is much bigger, like and M60 or an MG-42!

    • @PaltryPete
      @PaltryPete Před 9 lety +4

      Hence the names. MP40 = Maschinenpistole 40 (Maschinen = machine. Pistole = pistol) Easy enough.
      And of course MG42 = Maschinengewehr 42 (Gewehr = gun).

    Hi Will, probably the story of a single Luftwaffe soldier who was on the run for the Russians. On his way he somewhere had picked up a ZF39 sniper scope to use as a binoclar. During his run he burried his equipment ( after making it useless for the enemy ) but kept his pistol and water bottle. Hours before he already had thrown away his helmet and was he....
