Probably was a soldier who got shot . Most times guns were left with ammo in it. The alive soldiers didn't pickup dead soldiers weapons very much.

@@Jo_Wardy they actually did pick up guns from dead soldiers. if you ran out of ammo, you took ammo from ur dead fellow war partner.......but the mp40 was there left on the ground but no bones, which means, he ran for the allies. so he dropped the mp40 and ran for his life probably, he either survived, or got shot few meters away while trying to run

My Uncle here in the States has a MP40, we took it to a indoor range and the owner of the range was really on edge but told us if we keep it to short burst he would be fine with it. Was pretty cool shooting it, really wanted to go full auto lol

Amazing.. I wouldn't be surprised if the soldier who was sat with it was carrying that.. died or fled from right there in that spot.. why else would the gun be ready to use with the stock folded out and with extra ammo.. fascinating stuff, great video.. Subscribed.

It's a truely fascinating story indeed. Maybe the soldier was fed up with the war and threw away his gun? Maybe he was hiding in that dug out and got captured? I guess we can forever wonder what exactly happened there. Thanks for watching and subbing!

This is rare, since, most soldiers would disassemble their weapon and just buried it under so that, if the enemy happens to found the weapon, it will at-least take some time for them to figure out to assemble the weapon and fire it again.
Anyway, where did you guys found this weapon at? It would be interesting to know the location since it tells many stories!
