I had pneumonia a year and a half ago. Since then, after speaking a short time my vocal chords would always clog up and I would need to clear my throat constantly. Recently, I started taking vitamin C increasing the dose at 1 gram (1,000 mg) increments. At 2 grams an inflamed tooth healed. At 5 grams my vocal chords cleared up significantly, but still had congestion half way up the windpipe. Now at 8 grams all congestion has disappeared.
I started taking vitamin C for a completely different reason. This was a pleasant side effect. I weight 195 lb or 88 kg, so you can dose according to your weight.

So I tried 2cups boiling half of a small onion with ginger and lemon juice to make a tea. I then saw something about cayenne pepper, tumeric, and honey, so I added those in. The result after drinking was my body telling me I killed every pathogen in it at the risk to my own health. I felt the euphoria of death and healing at the same time. I would not advise drinking this concoction but I can assure you it works. Definitely painful so if you're a masochist you may enjoy it. Next time I'm going to add Thyme if I make it to my 45th birthday...I am currently 40 but I'm certain significant years were stripped off my life from that drink.

I used to add Eucalyptus oil to a bowl of steaming water, put a towel over my head and the bowl and breath it in slowly as tolerated to help break up chest and airway congestion...just make sure you're not allergic to Eucalyptus or you don't burn yourself. You can even use leaves from a Eucalyptus tree but wash them off first before using them in a bowl of steaming water...break them up with your hands to get more oil from them. Works for me.

Chronic coughing is painful and irritating. I have/had asthma since I was below 10, now I'm 31. It seemed to be gone when I started practicing sports seriously, that's when I was around 13, then I kept practicing sports casually until early 20 then I stopped completely. The asthma I had, kept recurring once or twice a year til today. It's not as worse as it was like when I was a kid, like, almost impossible to breathe at all and making wheezing sound all the time. Now It's ok to breathe but I'll wake up with mucus clogged my throat, spit it out and I'll find my voice's changed, plus this sort of itchy feeling deep in the chest, and of course coughing and spitting mucus all day. When you cough, you tighten your muscles, most noticeably at the abdomen, and you can feel the pressure up in the head. Within an hour of coughing every few minutes you'll feeling like the blood vessels in your head are going to explode, you get a deep pain at abdomen, and sore throat with scratchy/itchy feeling. I feel like I want to cut open my chest and use my hand to squeeze all the mucus from the lungs and wind tube or whatsoever, I know it doesn't work that way but, god, this is so painful and irritating.

Sarawut Saidonfag I hope you are well. I believed that I had asthma over a period of approx. 7 yrs. I couldn't extend my lungs to full capacity as I would cough and splutter. Wheezing. Out of breath just climbing a few steps. Typical me though I just thought Im mid 40's... Im getting old and just deal with it. I stumbled on to something whilst researching something to help a loved one who I wanted to help with drainage of the lymph nodes. I bought a supplement called Nascent Iodine. I researched it...read books etc and it said it was used in the past for a number of issues...one being lung disease. I don't think I had lung disease but I want to share with anyone suffering like I did that in just a day my breathing is perfect. No more constant clearing of throat of phlegm. Breath full lungfuls without obstruction. Because of this I can exercise. Im very sceptical by nature and have never felt any benefit from taking vitamin supplements but truly Im amazed.I think my over production of phlegm was thyroid related because thyroid needs iodine for health. Im not saying take it. Thats up to you but I was trult convinced I would spend gge rest of my life wheezing and out of breathe. Just 3 drops in water drunk 2 or 3 times a day has given me my life back. Definately look into it. If you see a benefit within a couple of days them great. I hate to think of people suffering if they dont have to. I talked to my dr and he had no idea about iodine helping. V important...NASCENT iodine...not the iodine you use on skin.

If I use for daily use cuz I used it at the hospital in April and it worked for a couple days. But it felt clearer when I breathed! So I’m willing to try that for now and keep using my inhaler. Then maybe get tests next year. 😊

Taking hot showers is counterproductive since chlorine and fluoride irritate the nasal passages and bronchial tubes, which causes your body to create more mucus. I have found that coffee helps you expel mucus really well. It was used before as a bronchodilator before asthma inhalers were introduced. It is as effective! The coffee will irritate your throat though, so you may want to gargle with olive oil before hand or use olive oil in the coffee. Lemon and APV also help expel mucus. Frolov device is another cheap but long approach to improvement.

I did my Septoplasty a year back but since then the amount of mucus coming out of my nose and in my throat is reduced considerably but I still cant do without a handkerchief by my side! When i have cold almost the entire day, i blow my nose and my nose gets choked! I blow my nose about maybe 200 times a day, ive taken medication but it just improves it but loses its effect later on and once medication course is done, its back to Square one blowing my nose and mucus blows out either thin or thick! Can anyone have help me out or give me some suggestions regarding this. When you can rarely breathe, it can cause a lot of problems, ive been suffering this for 7 years. I have not breathe properly even for a day without blowing my nose or having troubles! I am thinking of doing a Rhinoplasty, would be that a good idea for this sinus or cold issue! I have totally stopped cold drinks, smoking but its still existing! Its very difficult to concentrate or think when you have such a problem, its basically hell trying to live and breathe like this! People think its a cold but for 7 years, i dont think so! Anti allergic medication just helps for the time being! I have observed that Sweet Corn Chicken soup helps a loooot, it reduces it considerably. So i am making a habit of that but i cant have Chicken soup all my life for living either, i just want to be normal!

      Amit Mahajan
I am not a doc Amit, but first see your doc to see if your lungs are ok (Xray), mucus can slo come from sinuses i.e. post nasal drip which can be treated with Nasobec etc if you have a virus if \im not mistaken, remember that GERD/acid reflux can come up and go into your lungs and may be causing this, so check to see if you may have sliding hiatal hernia a this will keep the L.E.S. open and acid will reflux up and burn the esophagus, the way to try to fix this without drugs or operation is to lose weight to your ideal weight, exercise also is good - general exercise such as walking or jogging but also specific hiatal hernia exercises and stretches, massaging the hiatal hernia area down daily, you can also take supplements and herbs to help like slippery elm and licorice to protect teh esophagus but also try to tighten the LES by using Calcium citrate, magnesium glycinate and a herb called meadowseet, also going on a low carb type diet may help, relaxing during the day is good and practise abdominal breathing to bring the diaphragm down, use braces to pull up your trousers instead of belt, and of course avoid acids ike vinegar and tomatoes, alchohol, smoking, fizzy drinks, chillies, caffeine, choclate, mint, etc which cause acid reflux.

I lived in a room with black mold for several months...all day everyday I'm constantly coughing up mucus of all different textures and hues. I have to use an inhaler now, something I haven't needed to do in over 10 years (I used to be asthmatic, but my doctor in middle school found no trace of it). I feel like a disgusting monster and I don't know what to do. I guess I need to see a doctor.

I see a little if ignorant comments.if you have mucus or sneezing/coughing. It can be allergies and asthma. You can develop allergies at any time. My father and sister never had bad allergies and as they got older it got bad. If you have yellow or green mucus its an infection ( bronchitis) that may or may not require meds. Go to the doctor if you are wheezing. That's asthma.
