Something he’ll testify to later. I told each and everyone of the guys in South America I was never committed to helping them in their wars and had other priorities, what they did was up to them. It isn't depressing. It's sad, tragic, but far from depressing. It's encouraging on a cosmic scale. It may not be the kind of story where the Good triumphs. But it's the kind of story where the Good is. There may be the spiteful Vinland, the manipulative Gran Colombia, the heartless Aragon, the cowardly Dual Monarchy, yes. But there have also been the loyal Qingqiu, the determined Spain, and, of course, the resolute Plantagenia. You look at these little men struggle. You pity them. Pity is not what they deserve. It's admiration. In a world of Evil and treachery they dared to avoid such things. Their sole existence warms my heart. May their deed be repeated over and over, echoing into the future, inspiring more heroes.

    I really love how you can see the contours of a bromance story between the two Generals: Liao Tien and Philippe- Joseph de Rouille. They are like a reflection of the two players. I especially love the moment at 18:11 where Qingqiu's troops break through the Vinlandic troops to reach their allies (though I just noticed they where lead by another general).

    Infamy transfers feel like they break diplomacy. It makes it almost impossible to predict who will come into a war since the major power doesn't have a strategic reason, they're just being paid essentially. Anyone can bring in potentially any major player if they offer up infamy

    • @tokigart

    • @ducky8075
      @ducky8075 Před 3 lety

      @@tokigart not really, since the taker doesn’t even need to fight, just take it for three seconds. It doesn’t make sense in the wider scheme of things. In my games I disallow infamy transfers because they’re just really dumb.

    The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
    Lots of players in this game have allowed themselves to be played by their enemies believing the promises that would never be held. DM made me think of Neville Chamberlain coming back with his signed letter from Aragon-Italy. South America throws away every chance to break from the chains of GC.

  • @andreaswidham3607

    The campaign that General Philippe-Joseph de Rouille led down the eastern coast, finally ending in complete destruction after the battle of Sainte Eleanor is worthy of song. It's equal with Napoleon's final defense of Paris in 1814, except Rouille didn't give up even after the lose of his army. He simply built a new one (though I guess Napoleon did the same, it just took him almost a year).

    The aragon-italy player is such a fool he got stackwiped so many times for nothing,if he would have sided with you and destroyed aragon, he could have even helped you against Gran Columbia and would have gotten a good ally.
    He chosed the worst action possible and will probably suffer by it.
    Meanwhile Gran Colombia reigns over everything now, like I said previously he is truly a great antagonist and a great strategic player.
