      @@gabadiamond Absolutely, KCD is a middle finger to the popular conception of "The Dark Ages" being...well... I think we've all seen a movie or two here... to disrespect the people who helped build the foundation for modern civilization in the way that modern people do, being so snobby and judgemental, is cultural hubris.
      And the game refutes that by just being honest

      @@kmote1053 You may laugh, my son does just that: plays Fortnite (actually quite good), watches TikTok. But at the same time we both totally love KCD. After playing part 1, we often talked about the bigger historical context and we even have been physically there, looking up the places and ruins in today's Bohemia. Yep, we went through the ancient gate of Rataje, which is still there, and were both totally excited. There are still kids who appreciate history.

      I believe one of the devs said that the entirety of Rattay is comparable to just one of the streets in Kuttenberg in terms of size. Looking back, Rattay and Sasau aren't really that big to begin with. More like a castle/monastery with a somewhat extensive village attached. Kuttenberg is gonna be a proper medieval city, which is dope.

    Thanks Martin! Together with my son I am a total fan of KCD and we actually went to Czechia in 2023 to see all the places of the game. It is stunning to know what the landscape will look like after the next hill without ever having been there, except 600 virtual years before. So for 2025 it is for us definitely a must-go to see Kuttenberg and Český ráj. And just as a secondary effect I learned a lot about your country and history. So if you have fun doing a short walkthrough the actual history of the city (apart from the game), it would be my pleasure to watch and educate myself. :-)

    You mentioned it at the end, but I’m still asking: is it confirmed that Sedlec monastery is included in the game? Both churches in the monastery, Mary’s and J. the Baptist’s and the All Saints’ Chapel, existed in 1403, even though the ossuary as we know it today didn’t exist at all, only the graveyard.
    I hope there will be some mission where you have to unbury someone from Sedlec and do something “decorative” with the bones 😂😂😂.
    Moc hezká práce, těším se na další video!

    • @Kuttenberger_Martin
      @Kuttenberger_Martin  Před 19 dny +4

      I think it's practically confirmed. We se Sedlec monastery from a distance at a couple of views. But most importantly the first distance view of Kuttenberg we could see was from Sedlec direction And the All Saints' Chapel was there on a left. (I have it on my Instagram right as a first post :) )
      Btw. there was a third church of St Philip and St James, right between the All Saints' chapel and the cathedral. Today there is just an Eastern wall left, but it was firt mentioned 1267, so it should be there in 1403 :)

A pak nejsem moc schopný rozklíčovat co se děje na dolním městě, a z této části města jsme myslím ještě nic neviděli. Takhle to bylo myšlené. :)

    • @Kuttenberger_Martin
      @Kuttenberger_Martin  Před 18 dny +5

      Long story short: It was rebuilt to Royal Mint (in 1300) as a part of reforms orchestrated by Italians.
      Long story: At the end of 13th century was the mining and minting a real chaos. And with huge silver mines in Kutná Hora the king Wenceslaus II. decided to put some order and stability into it. So he gave the task to the lawyer Gozzio from Orvieto (from Italy).
      This whole reform of mining and minting was put in place in year 1300 and it had several pillars:
      - New mining law - Ius Reagle Montanorum
      - Centralized minting - all the mints from the kingdom were moved to Italian court (which was reconstructed/upgraded to that purpose)
      - New coin - Prague Groshen (despite the name minted in Kutná Hora), quality coin, that became a cornerstone of a monetary policy of the kingdom in the next centuries

    1. Super že si včas naskočil na tu správnou vlnu a rozhodně bych se nebál udělat nějaká delší videa o jednotlivých budovách a jejich historii :):)
    2. Anglické titulky... je super že je tam máš ... možná bych přidal i české v případě že menší hráči kteří nejsou schopni mluvit/rozumět anglicky by tohle jistě ocenili
    3. informačně je to dobře naládované na to že to je jen stručně :)
    ted si dovolím mínusy :) ale je to myšleno v dobrým a snad pro zlepšení tvého kanálu.
    1 scénář... trošku mě mrzí absence scénáře. mluvíš prakticky hala bala ,sem tam se zasekneš a ne vždy je to uplně srozumitelný .. chvilkama to vypadá že chceš ještě něco doplnit ale pak si řekenš meh prdím na to :) je mi jasný že to není jednoduchý... něco chceš říct ..do toho to chceš říct krátce + si to přeložit do angličtiny a říct to ... tady by ti právě mohl pomoct scénař ..měl bys pevně daný co a jak cheš říct čímž bys eliminoval zadrahávání :) :)
    2. Minimální edit ...myslím že v pruběhu mluvení o těch jednotlivých kostelech a budovách si mohl třeba vložit nějaké obrazky .. jen pár aby člověk měl představu ...
    To je všechno :) ještě rad bych znovu zduraznil že to není myšleno jako kritika ale spíš jako takové informace jak bys to mohl zlepšit pokud bys samozřejmě chtěl :) těším se na další videa !!! :) :)
