It makes sence! You will be booked out for months!
I really enjoy watching until the end, just in case you put in a little something extra ; makes my day! Thanks
I would like a one day overnight class at your place, I wanted to do a class at your training school for the 3 day weekend thing but that’s to long for me to be away. I’m not retired yet. So I would be in with that.
I would be good to go on the classes, anytime ... anywhere!
We have ample space and facilities in Southern Virginia and we can easily get 20 to 30 people together and have a blast!
Tôi thích công việc và phong cách của bạn. Tôi rất thích và rất thích
The perfect warm up before I leave for the woods in couple hours. 2 nighter here I come!
And then he was never heard from again...
PS: Be safe dude.
@ Robert Pereira
I'll be doing @ least a 6 to 7 day thing towards the end of this month.
Some folks I know are putting on a 3 day long primarily.outdoir heavy metal, rock & punk show known as RPMfest & I'm on the set up crew.
It usually only goes for 3 & 1/2 days but if you're on set up, it's about 6 to 7 depending on what you're involved in for the set up.
For me, stages on Wednesday 8/31, followed by other set up Thursday 9/2 & then the show from 9/2 to 9/4, leave Labor Day morning 9/5.
Not sure if you like the styles of music that'd be featured but
www.rpmfest.org if you want to check it out for info.
Have fun and enjoy it for the rest of us!!!!
Leaving for my first solo trip on Tuesday for three days. My first non carcamp camp in 53 years. Super nervous but stoked at the same time.
I'll be watching this wild camping in 6 days
GARLIC SHRIMP SCAMPI??? Talk dirty to me, baby!!🤣 Way to go, brother!! 🇮🇹 🇺🇸 🧄 🍤 🔥 🏕
Man has the best attention to detail and aesthetics for his campsites than anybody on CZcams.
It's nice to see someone taking a problem and solving it with real basic and cheap materials. People want to spend big bucks on fancy equipment instead of learning skills to do it with what you can get. Thanks Cpl Kelly for teaching us the basics of old school life. Me and my daughter love your channel.
You know its Sunday when Corporal’s around. Another great video. Happy Sunday.
I never realized this was my childhood dream until watching Corporal live it out by building these cool things outdoors.
My man took living the dream to the next level. He lives the childhood fort dream for a living you can’t beat it. It’s still earning a living but damn the man is doing it.
yours was the clearest explanation on howto make a fire bow =)
A lot of people could benefit from your teachings, many don't know a thing about survival in hard times.
Time to watch another excellent video.
Another FANTASTIC overnighter thanks again Corporal
What you were saying about keeping things simple makes a lot of sense, and the part about the likelihood of remembering 250 knots reminded me of a Bruce quote.
"I fear not the man who has practised 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practised one kick 10,000 times."
980 Baby! We’re almost to 1 million. Outstanding!
I like the idea of the weekend classes
These basic videos are the best. A few months ago Corporal asked for opinions on his doing a video with Canadian Steve Wallis. What happened with that?
Simply amazing!! Overcome, adapt, comprimise....create. AWESOME!!! TY!!
Hell yeah im a single mom of one and I really want to teach him some survival skills. I think the camping survival training would be awesome to learn!
Let me get my coffee and watch some Corporals Corner
IT JUST ISN'T SUNDAY WITHOUT IT
A minor story (Apologes) 63 years ago when I was 7 y.o, I was scrounging the dump site at the top of the hill behind my parent's house, and found a double-bit axe with a shattered handle. I took it home, figured out how he wedge held it, drove out he wedge and broken handle, made a new handle out of locust, sharpened the axe head, and have had it and used it since then. The kind of skill you have with a shovel, I have with -that- axe, so i tend to think of how to make things with it as my primary tool. "When all you have is a hammer..." I would have notched the bed crossbars, to take stress off the cordage. Just my personal take.
Watching corporals videos feels like home.
Yes, I would jump at the opportunity for joining you on an hands on campout.
Thank You Corporal. I think your idea about hosting a camp and doing some Bushcraft/Survival Classes is a great Idea. I'll bet you would have a good chance of Succeeding and the Attendees would love it. What is the downside, try one and see how it goes. I see that you are getting close to a million subs... nicely done. Thank You Corporal
I became a fan during your complex builds last year but these simple builds you’ve been doing lately just make sense and look dope af too
United State Naval Sea Cadet Corps taught me every sailor knot imaginable... 90% of them I've forgotten in the last 36 years.
Keep It Simple is one of my motto's for life... but then other people always screw that up for me... so keep it as simple as you can
Mulling it over…I have physical limitations so I modify as much as I can to meet the task, but I wouldn’t want to hold anyone else back. My Dad was a Marine and he always taught my sister and I to adapt and overcome any situation. It’s why I watch your videos because I can learn the skill and adapt it to my physical abilities. I’ve saved this video for sure and I would love many more of the same, I’ve never seen such a simple, easily followed example of a bow kit. Thank you again!!
Group overnighter is a great idea. Good learning experience. Thx
One of the best step-by-step instructions I've seen of yours on creating fire with a bow drill. This shelter build was extremely educative as well. A totally different twist. Awesome tattoo btw. As for a group training event in the woods, being a medical instructor for a couple decades, large groups with just one instructor isn't ideal- given your experience you already know that. But I will say this- an outdoor class should have at least one place protected from the elements where a class of 20 or 30 students won't get interrupted by the weather given how unpredictable the weather can be. Then you have to consider the frequency of giving classes. Given your knowledge and teaching style I don't think you'll have any issue finding students.
I'm getting the feeling he's just clearing his land the fun way, one campsite at a time!😂👍🏻🍻
The day classes and overnight classes are a great idea.
Whaaaaaaat!!!! Overnighter bushcraft classes with the Corporal? Sounds good but like many I'm cash shy and reside in the southwest. You should be able to round up two dozen midwestern boys for an outing though. If it happens Shawn - videos (instruction and a CZcams) might work well. Always enjoy your work!
Really enjoy this one, Corp. It was simple and seemed to be well protected and comfy too. Another outstanding one for the books. Thanks man.
Count me in on the camping/overnighters. I'ld be surprised if any other NCO, in your troop, would not want to.
Loved the KISS Principle Last Thought. In honor of said principle, start close to home and see how it grows from there. When Pathfinder classes move you around the country, well, there you are. Tack on some overnighters in the area. Seems that will depend depend on how often you need to get back home and would the intake be worth the output.
I have not seen a bad video that you have done , I enjoyed your cabin & your hunt stand , you have the personality for making it a learning experience
I think that mini courses are a good idea. They'll give you and some of your followers to meet and greet. I think it would be great if you recorded some of it and added the highlights as a separate... call it a mini-series... or a Corporals Special... or whatever. Just something new and fun to let the rest of us that can't make it enjoy a bit, too.
yet *another* most excellent video!
It's always interesting to see how creative you can be when improvising a shelter for the evening.
I like the way you not only demonstrated how to make and use a bow-drill set to start a fire, but also provided close-up shots of what you were doing as well as a good detailed verbal explanation.
Based upon what I've seen in your CZcams video presentations, I'd say you're a good teacher with a sizeable body of knowledge to share along with an ability to explain things in easy-going, easy-to-understand manner. Any students who take an outdoors course with you will definitely walk away better for the experience.
it would be cool to see Cpl Kelly running all across North America w/ Les Stroud, one giant road trip where they build shelters, talk survival and life skills, and philosophy while spending some time in every state or province of the U.S.A. and Canada.
KISS, simplicity is what I have always promoted. thanks for your video. I don't what I'd do without having this to watch at the beginning of each week. thank you.
I have an idea for you, travel around a little. If someone has some land to host, do an overnight there with subscribers in that area. Donations for CC could be given on site. Just a thought
Alright, camping with steve just hit a million subscribers and another one of my favorites is the corporals channel and its at 980,000, lets get him to one million subs. We are here with you corporal, lets do it.
I watched this last Sunday but was worth watching again. How to do the bow drill is the best demo by far I've seen on CZcams. And just by observing what is around you to utilize is only limited by your imagination. Those are key lessons.
Thanks for the extremely informative video. It was great. I would love to join you for a class. That sounds awesome.
Excellent work as always. I love this one. Loads of info. To the day training/campout thing; yes!! That would be amazing!! I think I live about an hour from you, so that wouldn't be bad on the travel side of things if you were to choose to do it near your property.
Got to admit, the little nugget about pre-prepping that shrimp dish and freezing it before you head out was worth the price of admission...
Oh yeah, the bed was cool AF as well.
Awesome! Love the K.I.S.S. principle approach and the beauty of this setup is that one could improvise with drum liners, some cordage, and a cheapo tarp or even a sheet of plastic if the budget is too tight for the canvas bed and oil cloth tarp. As always, good stuff! 🙂
The short courses sound like a great idea. I would go do that.
Thanks for all your efforts. I found your channel a few weeks ago and have been binging since. I love learning all you have to offer. Can't wait to get out in the woods with my boy and utilize some of this! You make it all look so easy.
Old School Rules. Simple efficient & effective. Adapt, improvise and overcome that the way to have fun.
Great suspended bed and great bow & drill tutorial. Thanks Shawn!
Simplicity is the way. U can use your mind for every single thing. Thank you for the lessons Shawn. One more great video. Btw notification came right away!!!
same here, im getn notifications regularly now. was busy w my kidos yesterday but able to watch this morning first thing.. Start my week off great w an CC video by golly
I love the idea on day classes and over nighters. Think it would awesome!! Even moving around a bit place to place to include a larger area. Excellent video and very cool shelter idea kept super simple !!! Well sir the verdict on this one is in!!!!….. OUTSTANDING AF!!!!
Waiting on the next installment!!! (Took a minute for me to get to this one lol been busy as a one legged man in a kicking contest!!)
I'd forgotten how calming your vids are. That set-up looks comfy as all get out. Stay safe and healthy out there! Thank you for sharing a part of your day with us!
Cpl Kelly you are like a big brother to all of us. Keep up the great work.
Hit like if you think the Corporal deserves his Sergeant stripes by now.
Corporal is a proud rank in and of itself. Cpl. Rutledge USMC 1967-1971
I think it'd be a really cool idea to have subscribers and fans come out and get to meet you and get to camp with you I'm 20 years old I don't have a lot of money I found the love of my life high school sweetheart we're having a kid together work things like that wanting to go to school having a hard time with affording school also wanting to pursue Pathfinder school but financials are really difficult for a 20 year old in America and I've always wanted to meet people like you and like Dave Canterbury big dream of mine that's why I want to go to school but it's really hard to find the budget for all those things so I think an overnight at school would be amazing I would love to attend for that
Same.
"Dumb it down...." That's exactly right. And I'm glad somebody finally said it. That mentality has never failed me. Thanks for thought processes!
I thought this was a great idea that had options for various idea's. Once again Corp Kelly you did it again. Earlier you mentioned day camp or overnighter's. Believe that would be a wonderful opportunity for people who enjoy the outdoors to get together with other like minded individuals.
My son “ what’s he making “
Me “ not sure yet “
My son” betcha he makes something cool af”
Me “lol”
Loved the video
The Corporal always turns nothing into something. Better than Motel Six. And I don’t want the light on.
a lot of the off grid home builders have a meet up where they meet the fans and teach skills (butcher a hog, butcher chickens, canning food, etc.). Maybe something like this where you invite fans to a meet up where they get to spend the day and night doing a simple build, in the woods, and spend the night. You coach them on their build for their problem (fallen tree, y-branches, off ground frame, etc.) . You charge for this a couple hundred dollars per person. Which covers the location, your time, and the experience.
Yes to the overnight training idea.
Awesome day. Church, fajitas, a great cigar and Corporal AF.....ahhhhh
So close to a million subs! I’m rooting for you!!
Your ability to remember all the Correct knots and what their applications are critical for all of your builds I think it is imperative that everyone knows what those notes are that you’re using and that you will be required to use them in order to make this build function you’re a great teacher please keep up the great work STEVE JONES
I would be interested in attending one of your campout classes. I introduced my 11 yr. old grandson to your channel. He watches and would be interested as well.
Um…. Hell yeah on the classes!!!!
Good Sunday today. Got my Corporals Corner fix and now I am off to see Metallica. Cheers to health and Happiness.
Love the short and sweet comments at the end. Love it!
I have my Suburban fixed into a camper so next week I am headed to the mountains for a few weeks. I can hardly wait.
That's what I like, simple. Life is and can be complicated, your approach to a dry, heated, overnight sleeping area is the way it should be. Thank you sir, a great video AF, as always.
Love the video, love your idea for group training. Thanks sir.
I really like the Idea of short camping/learning classes & outing. Would be easier to learn with several there and your expertise. Just do it like you've been doing for so many years
I think your idea of doing an overnight class is fantastic! The boy scouts organization is pretty much null. It also would make a great father/ son outing for father's that dont have the skills but want to teach his son or daughter these skills.
Another nice set up. It actually looked comfortable. I like the idea of the camp ground class.
I loved the final thought of this episode! Thanks for the wisdom @Corporals Corner
Yes sign me up for an overnighter
I love it! Two tarps, one folded over on itself over the long poles and another as fly.. Nice set up!
Jesus Christ. Your camping set ups are phenomenal. That is the first bed I wouldn’t mind sleeping on. Well done.
2nd channel idea: Corporal's Cooking Corner
A series of meals solely cooked over a camp fire.
I'm a city guy my whole life, thanks for your video's, information, and sharing experience.i have to try one night in the woods.moved update NY 6 years ago and it's time.thanks again, continued success and safety to you.
Fire making the old fashioned way, perfect
Well Sean I must say you always step it up a notch. My friend called me, to talk about your suggestion about an overnighter. I think it's you setting the bar above the rest. Thanks for that. I think your plan is a great idea!
Always bringing new ideas and content everyweek. Best bushcraft channel on YT
Practiced the quick Ridgeline shelter today with bowling, truckers hitch and prusik knot. Worked cool AF!.
That class would be freaking awesome!!!
Having the opportunity to get together with a group of people, learn a little something, shoot to breeze and camp out would be awesome. Count me in...
Every Sunday I watch your channel I learn something new every time thank you and keep up the amazing content.
Good to see you expanded the palate beyond bacon!
Another good use of an available natural feature. 3 knots, a cot, shelter and a hot meal, that is about as easy as it gets. Thanks as always!
Corporal,
Thank you yet once again for making these great tutorials!
No BS!!! You are knocking these outta the park, Brother!
Knots, even more suspended beds, FIRE!
Don’t forget to Whip It Real Good!

Love the idea of a single night outing. A lot easier to budget for, I would imagine.
I've been considering a mobile bushcraft school. Basically a box trailer loaded with basic packs for people to learn the skills, but they'd be able to do it on their land or in their area so that they could learn with what is readily available to them. At the end they could purchase the pack or return it.
Outstanding video Cpl. You are 100% correct about K.I.S.S.
If I had the time n money I'd really enjoy learning from the master. Sadly I don't. Thanks for your efforts Hard Corps!
Another great video in the woods. You have a GOD sent imagination on how to build these survival camps.Keep up the great work 👍🙏🙏🙏
Love the simplicity!
Thank you for the simple way to have a great night outside 👍.
Greetings from lower Frankonia, Germany
Yes! A Camping with Corporal class would be awesome!
We need to push to get you to a million here soon. You deserve it.
Totally agree 👍🏼 👏 👌
Thank you Shawn for another great video. This does look really simple. 👍👊🏻.
Can I ask you a question? Have you ever thought about doing a book? Basing each chapter on building the shelter. From the type of knots and how to tie them. What material is going to be needed. The tools that you are going to need. Put it up on your site and then let it sell. I watch your CZcams videos on phone but having the actual guide for building it would be much better.
Absolutely perfect idea! Especially if the logistics and sites work out across the country! I'm all for it my guy! I think you are definitely on to something!
Thanks for the bow drill lesson, I want to give that a try soon. Thanks also for telling how to take perishables into the bush. That's pretty smart, I was actually about to ask but then you explained. Lastly thanks as always for another great video. I look forward to em every week. Have a blessed one brother, I'll see you next time.
