Hey yet again Shawn! A question, I saw somebody using some style of wire instead of the usual rope to fasten things to tree poles including a non grommeted tarp.
I don't know if you ever tried this or would?
My feeling is, where the wire got poked through the tarp in order to "tie off", even though it'd be a small hole, it's a hole nonetheless that might ruin the structural integrity of the tarp. Am wondering though if I'm right or wrong on my belief?

And, you could combine the 2 somehow even during a game!
Of course, you'd have to cook up the bacon & whatnot before anything gets televised.
Imagine though, if somehow bacon WAS integrated into football? I mean, they call the ball "pigskin" & well, technically, what is bacon?
What would be the combined name afterwards? Footbacon (nope, wouldn't catch on well!) Or, Bacon Ball? ( definitely more potential to take off!)

Hello! I'm almost 76 yrs. old now and for the past 40 yrs. lived in the Arizona deserts outside of Phoenix. I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and brought up in the suburbs with swatches of wooden lands. 12 months out of each year I played in those wooded areas pretending to be a hunter, mountain man or soldier. Watching your channel brings me back to my childhood experiences and memories! 2016 I had at least 6 strokes that left me with a weak left side of my body, no vision on my left side and a short term memory. Watching your episodes have brought back all those memories. Most of what do I remember doing , on my own, but with much different materials and no tools except maybe a home made knife and hatchet which I had to hide from my parents and brothers and sister. I learned how to track animals and my friends through the woods, how to make shelters and how to hunt( even before I was in my 20's and on my own and able to buy a bow and shot gun. I like your different shelter making videos. Some I remembered I had made but with other materials. I did have string and some wire to work with. The woods supplied the rest. Around where I lived the water table was high so if you dug down 2 1/2 foot or three foot you wood have a hole full of water by morning. But lean-to's and A-frame, teepee and wikky-ups were the norm. I learned tracking and stealth movement in dry, wet, rainy and snowing woodlands. SORRY! ..I got carried away here. Please keep making your videos!! They are great and informative!! So many can learn from your info and get out and enjoy and or survive in the outdoors! THANK YOU SIR!!!

Now, that trash bag tarp was excellent. Watching your videos has forced me to once again practice the adage of "Improvise, adapt, overcome." I once did something similar with plastic drop-cloths. I believe you've also used something similar. It's nice because they are larger, and you can double them up if you need more strength.

Kelly, thank you for this week’s post.
Staying with the basics (practicing them with different media) and keeping it simple is what keeps me coming back.
I really liked the choice of retaining the drum liner’s configuration, while using them for a tarp - great example of thinking outside and ahead of the box.
Nice hook demo, another example of situational awareness and resources on hand meets need.
Nice on the fly dinner. A great and cheap retake on previous dishes.
    Hobo rocks!
I don’t know much about the matter to discussed at the end. It ain’t really my business. I will say this; that you took the time to prudently and considerately put an end to whatever it was publically and kindly is what I know to be effective deck plate leadership of the first order.
    Well done!

I'm always a day late and a dollar short and just got to watch this video. No clue what's going on with whoever but I've learned so much from your videos and I always hang out for your final thoughts. You have made me feel a lot more calm about being in the woods which is literally where I live so thank you for that!! My pack now has basic survival in mind and I'm much less afraid of being lost, stuck or stranded !!

My Sunday morning as long as I wait till afternoon to open CZcams. You are the first on my list.
Just like Saturday another channel I follow Outdoor boys is the first that comes up. You are being seen and followed by loyal followers for your channel.
Thank you for what you do. Thank you for your service as well this video your Knotts are great. And better explaind than the boy scouts and even my USMC brother ever taught me. Never realized your 3 Knotts and the names are what I have used for the past 30 yrs for almost everything. Save for using a clove hitch and various others but that's when climbing or repeling.
Again thank you for what you do and for what you have done. Much respect Justin W!!!

This is almost creepy. Made a comment yesterday that I would like to see a video just like this one! You are not only an expert bush crafter, but evidently a mind reader! Keep up the great content, and “Keep up the Fire!”

I was taught years ago by a fellow warrior, “Those who talk don’t know & those who know don’t talk!”
I’ve found this to be very truthful over the years!
Not sure who has been referenced in this & past vids, but won’t waste my time searching & refuse to benefit them by doing so!
    Carry on brother! ❤️💪💥

Love that you took the time to prove your theory and the honesty with how the experiment worked out. As usual another great idea for a video and that food looked good too. My favorite hobo meal from childhood was baked beans with hot dogs over rice, cheap easy and good.

Outstanding AF, I can't get enough when it's out of the box 📦. I can honestly say I have done exactly what you did in this video using the things I have to create shelter and the fishing just OUTSTANDING AF!!! The only thing I did different was I used a conical chunk of wood with gear I found including the line I pulled from someone snagging it in a tree. The conical shape of the wood allows you to cast it a distance and you can reel it in. You can use garbage like a bottle or can. Ultimately you use what works and what you used works and that's all that matters. Hats off Corporal 👏.

  • @JoeBidenIsNotMyPresident

I would love to see you revisit this shelter in the winter, but add leaves and other items for insulation into the bags. I bet it would keep you very warm and comfortable as long as you can drop the sides doen to the ground and maybe add walls to the small sides.
