@@dreadchicken1976 I guess it's a matter of personal preference, like most rankings are. Just unfortunate that not just this creator but many others overlook Birth of A New Age, and that it got 0 points. It's a majestic song with poetic lyrics, but I guess it is too "musical theater" for the audience.
Netherlands 2021 should be happy it even got featured in eurovision

Birth Of A New Age was written in Sranan Tongo, a creole lingua franca of Suriname - a country that was colonised by the Netherlands/Dutch Republic. the language itself is largely english and dutch. from the lyrics to the beat, it is a beautiful song that had every legitimate right to be in that competition
From the next year we should somehow award the fifth place

Germany fighting itself on the last place is literally what German ESC-fans and the NDR do after the ESC (and before and during) each year so it's actually pretty accurate.
The hardest one we know is clearly UKRAINE 2021 VS SERBIA 2022. But nobody talking about SWITZERLAND 2021 VS SPAIN 2022.

Sam Ryder and Chanel were amazing, but I have to admit, I liked Barbara Pravi and Gjon's Tears better. Also, I liked Malta 2021 over Moldova 2022.
Maneskin blew the arena down. Best winners in years. Can't argue with that. I also very much approve of Nr. 5 with Ukraine and Serbia. These are the types of songs that go down in ESC history and that we will be talking about years to come.

I agree that Channel is the real diva, queen and she gives us one of the best show ever, but let be honest, her song and vocals even not close to Tout l'univers.

@@escsteffan3438 i love slomo, but compared to Tout l'univers, her vocals weren't the best even in some parts before the hard choreo starts. And in the end, esc is not only a staging contest. It's basically 75% song and vocals, and 20% staging, being (let's be honest about the whole people in Europe +) the atractiveness of the singer and the condition of the country (more than 5% for ukraine this year). In the whole cake, Chanel has like 78%, as Gjon has like 90%. I know that it's YOUR and ONLY YOURS opinion, but in an eventual battle between Chanel and Gjon, where juries are 50% and televote is 50%, gjon would win with like 63 / 37.
Unpopular opinion, I think Iceland 2021 was very good. Also, Norway 2022 should have gotten a lot more points. Just saying...

I mostly agree, but Tout l'universe is like one of the best Eurovision songs EVER and 2022 Spain's song was blant as hell.

For me Voila and Tout l'universe are miles better than Chanel and Sam. The song are unique and not generic like Slomo and Space man.

2021 was a legendary year. In my opinion, 2022 was absolutely not besser than 2021.

I agree with Kalush over Maneskin (but partly because Maneskin has become annoying to me because they are unhealthily idolized). I don't understand why Gjon is so popular while Marius Baer isn't. I didn't like either, but I find it hard to understand how Gjon was loved by the public and Marius got 0 points even though they were the same song to me

Soooo many underrated masterpieces among the bottom ones...
This truly reflects how this year was a really strong year. 2021 had more bangers (Shum, 10 Years, Tout l'Univers, Voilà, Zitti e buoni, Dark Side) but 2022 has a really high medium level. The last positions of 2022 are miles better than 2021's last positions

Unpopular opinion but I think Adrenalina is one of the most overated songs amongst fandom ever..
I watched this just to see who have you chosen as a winner of the 5th place cause my favorite songs of eurovision 2021 and 2022 finished on 5th place and I love them.both the same- couldn't believe that u put them together - so happy for that and now I read that the most of people here have the same opinion, the only one is Destiny that I would put as a winner of 6th place over that song from Moldova.
