I traded my well worn old Seat Cordoba for low mileage 2015 Swift 4x4 in August of 2021. I always wanted a 4x4 supermini, but can't afford the Yaris GR, and with a Hayabusa for summer days I don't really need a very fast car. After some 17000 kms, half of which in Finnish winter conditions with up to 50cm of snow and me living out in the countryside, this has been the best winter car I've ever had by a huge margin. While it isn't a proper offroad 4WD vehicle by any means, it has coped with most of the wintery mayhem, bad road maintenance and whatnot. I've only been stuck once in my own front yard, when I reversed into 30cm of snow which lifted the car so the wheels ran freely (I just had to test, of course).
Even if the suspension is 2,5cm higher than the standard, the ground clearance is the same as the FWD. I think it is because the rear differential (which isn't protected btw) is fairly low, negating the higher suspension to some extent.
It is cheap to insure and run, fun on twisty roads, reliable and "fast enough" for most situations. But I'd still love Suzuki to give us a Swift 4x4 Sport. Sort of a poor mans Yaris GR, if you will.

I have one and its grip levels are ridiculous, i have used it in the rain, snow and dry conditions its an all season car, when your stuck in a rear wheel drive car pr front wheel drive car like i saw thos year i was able to keep going and it has more than eenough performance and it is very reliable unlike range rovers it also has vvti and air conditioning a fiat panda will break down before the Suzuki will i cant recommend them enough, it has traction control, i know now why having a 4x4 car is so important and it is very low road tax

Hi if you know anything about the swift especially the 4x4 I had one back in 1990. It was a saloon with a 1600cc engine. Subaru used the swift 4x4 but called it the Justy. I have had most of the range from 1987 until now with the GS GA GTI 4x4 and Sports. Great cars much better than other small hatch cars in my opinion. I only wish that the guy in the video knew his stuff his comment on Suzuki giving it a go just tells me he doesn’t do his research now that’s just sad 😞

Really cant see the point in this model, we had a swift sport for two weeks as a courtesy car, great little car but not a family car, the garage gave us a 3dr.... we have a 2yr old a dog and the two of us aint slim lol, storage in the swift is poor, build quality seems really good but the interior is flooded with hard cheapish plastics, the radio/dab/nav unit was pretty good i agree nothing like the current crop of cars with better systems but it works and the wife loved the DAB (absolute 80's our guilty pleasure) i dare say we would have more a positive slant on the car if it was a 5dr. p.s great review as always.

+Graham Reid (Grizzle) I see this Swift as a modern-day Justy AWD (also SS based btw), which isn't a bad idea IMO.

Fantastic camera work and great review. Love the red tabs for each section of the review. Personally I love the Swift and I think this is amazing option to have a 4x4 mini car.

Sx4 is bigger, roomier (I get 2 kids and an adult in the back happily), and 2L diesel is sweet. Also, better if you need to get up a rutted road. Also, you see the swifts diff at the back, which looks odd
