I got Mike’s rice paper inner sleeves a while ago. Very satisfied.
“The shaft is rigid and bigger than I’d thought it be”
Haha, it felt odd saying that... maybe neck????
Goose neck lamp. Canadian goose that is...
Lmao!!!!
That’s what sh.....oh never mind.
Love Vinyl Storage Solutions!
Thanks Frank. Great video as always. And a big thank you to everyone for their ongoing support! I had a lot of suggestions for a 3 mil version and it will be arriving around the beginning of June. I absolutely love the VC and the relationships I have with thousands of folks around the world. Stay safe everyone!
Love your products Mike. Great quality.
@@carolynshea8794 Thanks!
Thanks Mike for sending these inner sleeves. Top notch as always!!!! I
I bought a bunch of the rice paper sleeves from Mike and I love them. I actually got them cheaper than you mentioned due to pre order and bulk discount. Love all Mike’s stuff. I’ve been resleeving my gate folds with his dual pocket resealable ones. Love how I can now enjoy the gatefold while it’s still protected. #vinylstoragesolutions
I bought an L.E.D lamp from IKEA for $15 shows up every spec of dust on vinyl can now clean them better before playing
That's cool.I will have to look at lighting next time I am there.
hey frank...i just checked out your merch store and saw the 'i owe columbia house' coffee mug...very cool...but the best is the 'keep on spinnin' mug with your caricature on it....priceless....best to the family...stay well always...keep the peace...rocky
Thanks Rocky!!! All the best to you and yours. Spring has sprung.. but the COVID #s are climbing here again. Argh...
Frank
Dude so glad you are back. Giving us the scope on great products to protect our records.
Just got a big order of Diskeeper 2.0 inners and Ultimate 2.5 outers from Sleeve City USA after waiting since November 2020 (yes they were on backorder for 5 months) but I’ll keep these in mind when my stash runs out. I’ve never used rice paper before, just the 2mil HDPE where I can see both sides of the record when sleeved, but I’ll try these. Great video as usual, Frank.
What NO Fan Mail ?
Waited all week to see someone open the 33RPM mail .
Nothing but Rice Paper and a
Very Cool LED Lamp .
Sheri was away some of the week so the package is still unopened, unfortunately. She will open it this weekend. Give me a couple of weeks and there will be a vid. Thanks man!
@@Channel33RPM I'm Good - Sheri has to wait n wait , wondering what the Hell is it .
Book's not readily available just anywhere , Costly when you do find a copy .
All wrapped up in an enigma
That’s awesome to hear rhino is replacing the Sabbath volume 4 vinyl, might have to take up the opportunity and ask because a few of mine have scuff on them too
Update: they got back to me and told me they can’t do anything for me🤷♂️, hope the Sabotage box set has better quality control, as I can’t believe to spending over 100 bucks get you that, sounds okay but should look practically brand new
Loved the video Frank! Thanks for turning us on to these 2 great looking products! I watched your vid, then proceeded to both of the companies websites! I'm totally stoked about the light, I have been wanting to replace my current one for some time. I have also been wanting to get some archival quality inners, but have not wanted to shell out $44.95 for a pack of 50 MoFi's. Thanks again and take care, keep the videos comin', Love em!
Thanks Shawn. I have to give Robert from Reliable Corp credit. He identified a need I didn't really know I had, that being having a bright, focused light source in the music room. I got it for free, so take it as you will, but I really dig it, and have been using it daily.
@@Channel33RPM I have an SL1200 as well, and find the pop-up light to be inadequate for my poor eyes. I ended up acquiring an LED tabletop light that is manufactured to be sold with office furniture, but after watching your video and seeing how bright and focused the Uberlight is, it is a no brainer, I must have one! Thanks again, Cheers!
Hey Frank, great episode with some great products - love the light, I am going there right now to check it out & I have bought from Vinyl Storage in the past but I really dig those heavier inner sleeves :)
The lamp is excellent. If I didn't already have sufficient lighting I'd buy a couple. The only drawback is that eventually all LED products become land fill. :( The sleeves are a must. All his sleeves are excellent. I buy 50 of each inner and outer sleeves at a time. When my current supply runs out I'm buying these.
I love those inner sleeves and the outer sleeves can't be beat. Have a great weekend!
I agree Melinda. Have a great weekend as well!
Great video , the led lights help especially when its lit from the top hitting the grooves and counting the tracks
Saw the lamp on Vinyl Attack, Chris was impressed with it. He also gave one away.
Chris rocks!
Also wearing some Channel 33 RPM shirt 🤔.... interesting 🧐
Big thumbs up on the sleeves. I ordered both inner and outer sleeves on your recommendation and they arrived a couple of days ago. They are amazing! As for the light? There are so many other options out there. Spending $80 on a light that you can get for less than half the price at Ikea isn't the smartest idea. Spending that amount of money on a lamp that you can't even change the bulb? That's a deal-breaker for sure. What do you do when the bulb gives out? Throw the whole thing in the garbage? Yeah... we don't have enough in landfill.
I just put my entire collection into Vinyl Storage Solutions rice paper sleeves and used their two-pocket PET outer sleeves for the whole wrap. It's a very nice system! The big bonus is that we don't have to breath in all the nasty mold allergens that seem to love old record covers while still being able to see the art work. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!
Aloha, Frank
Thanks for another great video. Bummers on that Black Sabbath lp. Awesome that they will send you another one.
I myself no longer used MOFI rice inner sleeves, I used Hudson Hi Fi rice inner sleeves. About $20.99 per (100) American,
But I buy the (500) Count
$70.00 per (500) Count American, Which comes out to $14.00 American per (100) sleeves when purchasing in (500) count batches. As far as thickness it feels the same as mofi to me, on Hudson site it doesn't say thickness. Anyways that's what I used at this time.
Mahalo Ed.
Aloha Ed! I have been hearing a lot about these Hudson sleeves. I am going to have to check them out.
Have a good weekend,
Frank
Thanks Frank. Always informative. Will have to look into those sleeves
Thanks for tuning in Brad!
Thanks Frank happy Friday! I need to check out those sleeves.
I love the dual pocket sleeves. I bought a bunch of the 7" inner sleeves. Great product!
I love em too... the 12 inch, 4 mil ones are all I use now.
Looks like a fine alternative to the MoFi sleeves and the price differential is impressive. Thanks for the heads up.
Looks like something I need. I love those rice paper sleeves, I bought 150. He now has a new oversized outer sleeves for like trifold albums in which I needed. I got a huge order from he gave a an album brush as a gift. Hands down best product out there.
I agree Kevin. Mike is nailing it!
Thanks for another great video Frank! The light looks cool.
Thanks for watching
Those Vinyl Storage Solution sleeves are fantastic. I use them exclusively for all my albums and never had a problem with any of them. Great price too.
Wow that’s cool. I bought that Curtis Mayfield album 2 weeks ago!
Glad you are getting a replacement on the Sabbath box! Saw the review of the LED light on Vinyl Attack and now you reviewed it. Looks like I’m going to order one myself as it seems to be worth owning and using....
Hey Jeff... Well, as I got the light for free, so take it as you will, but I really dig it, and I have been using it daily. I'm tired of cheap stuff, and this light is good quality.
Frank
Love seeing the 7" and 10" style Mofi sleeves....finally! Get the picture Mofi ;) This has been needed for a long time. Thanks for showing them Frank. I will also be covering the Uber Flex Light in future video.
I will stay tuned for your review. I thought you stopped doing videos Paul, because the notifications completely stopped, and your videos stopped showing up in my feed. I am not sure why that is, but this is good news!!! I am sure there are a backlog of videos for me to go through!
Need to add a light like that to brighten up my record cleaning area. Placed an order with Mike and love the products. Been busy so I have been able to spend much time cleaning and organizing my collection. Placed a second order with Mike for the 12 in 2 mil sleeves. Can’t wait to get them and sleeve up my collection.
Awesome. I really dig Mike's stuff.
Woah I almost missed your Friday night episode! Glad that I found out!
Looks like your turntable could do with some dusting off, now that the light illuminates it 😉
Haha, yes... now I see all the dust and dirt,
Great video as usual, Frank, and congratulations to Steven Fritz for winning the two-t-shirt competition.
That light by Reliable Corporation looks very useful as do those fantastic rice paper sleeves by Vinyl Storage Solutions and it's an awesome opportunity for the vinyl community to be able to support those two Canadian companies. :)
#TeamCanada!
Definitely going to look into those sleeves when I need more. I may need to look into that light too. The setup when I spin records is a LOT darker than it is in my videos lol
The light was cool... it was one of those things I never knew I needed until I tried it. Have a good Friday music night!
Frank would be proud of me. I just got my first tracking weight scale. He's got me paying attention to those little details.
Fortunately, it turns out my tracking was in the acceptable range. It's been two years since I got into buying vinyl. :)
Nice! Now at least you know!
@@Channel33RPM You're doing the Lord's work Frank. :)
Really like the light I'm thinking it would be better than my stand up flashlight. Great for low light listening 😁
There must have been a run on sleeves, for everywhere I look, they’re back ordered.
Sleeve City is another good alternative to MoFi. They have quality products at less than MoFi prices (though you can still buy MoFi sleeves on their site if you want to). I’ve always gotten good service from them, and I like their products. I can’t believe say enough about their Ultimate Diskeeper sleeves. They cost more than regular MoFi sleeves, but I won’t use anything else on my records. When I put an album in one, they are literally smooth as silk. Well worth the investment!!! And you can get samples from them as well, if you want to try their sleeves out (warning: they’re addictive!!!).
I noticed that is well. Demand must be outstripping supply. I dig the Sleeve City stuff as well.
Thanks for the comment.
Frank
Lucky dog..congrats. Light over my player, why not, sounds cool..rice paper, not bad. I will definitely support Mike, I'm in....paper sleeves 😖...Keep rocking brother 🤘
Keep on rockin as well! Have a good weekend.
Cool that Vinyl Storage Solutions have all the time new prosucts. I hope that they get so big that they would be sold also in German Amazon.
mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
I agree!
awesome stuff bro! i see those old comics! i need gthe kiss ones , i do own the cooper one :)
Enjoy the video Frank as always! I should check out that light cuz my eyes aren't what they used to be either..lol
You and me both, Rod!
If the Uberlight came in black, I'd sprung for one.
For $27 you can get a solid IKEA FORSÅ work lamp with led or $16 NÄVLINGE that looks like this uberlight. Then you just have to go through the challenge or self denial of knowing how to professionally grade records.
Frank I saw Chris on Vinyl Attack the other day review the same light and I thought it was great so I ordered one waiting to get it. There's also a company that I found on eBay called CheckOutStore and they sell those inner sleeves also at a real great price. I've bought those inner sleeves from numerous people and they all seem the same other than just putting their information on the sleeve. I look forward to every Friday to hear what you have to say keep it up and be safe out there.
Cool! I really dig the light.
On the sleaves, check put Hudson Hi-Fi, great rice paper sleave at a fraction of the price
A few folks have mentioned those. I will check em out.
Nice lamp. I'd consider it if there were a black option.
Cheers, Tom
Black would be cool.
Hi Frank thanks again for the contest
Congrats Steven!
Good option for you lads up north. I get my MoFis for $16.50 per pack. Another option is from Hudson HiFi. They have a similar inner, 500 for $80, but they’re always out of stock.
Thanks for the info!
Nice sleeves and if I’m not mistaken that guy is from Winnipeg. Respect
Hey Max!! Yes, Mike is from Winnipeg. I always like to support local when I can.
Stay well my friend.
Frank
Thanks bud!
I use the Diskeeper Ultimate Audiophile inner sleeves for all my records. They go for around $30 USD for a pack of 50 which is a bit more than those. I'll have to check those out.
Well Frank, I invested in about $500 worth of MoFi sleeves last year to house my record collection but I may look VSS when future needs arise. Cheers !
I'm trying out the inner-sleeves. Always looking for a better way to protect my vinyl.
Good stuff. Have you tried the Hudson Hifi sleeves? They around half the price of the Mofi and very similar. They keep selling out on Amazon. Cheaper so you don't lose your shirt!
Hey Frank... I bought the 7" sleeves from Mike for all my 7" records. They are fantastic and very cheap. I also bought a single 10" sleeve for my one 10" record and love it too. As for the 12" sleeves, the MOFI sleeves are $20 for 50 at my local shop and VSS sleeves are $9.50 for 25 making them pretty much the same price. That said, the thicker ones are nice. Another sleeve to test out would be Hudson HiFi which are $70 US for 500, but they aren't always in stock.
It seems the price difference isn't as great in the US. Here, it usually costs around $32 for 50 Mo-Fi. Thanks for the tip about the Hudson HiFi sleeves!
I picked up a record the other day that I had special ordered from my local shop. Get home open it and it looked like someone shot it with a pellet gun it had all these dings all over it. I take it back and the shop owner opens the other copy he has and the same thing it was just wrecked. Do you think the pressing plants are just running on skeleton crews due to the pandemic and that’s what’s causing all these flaws in new records.
Man, that sucks. I have no idea what's going on
Mike needs to get an outlet in the UK, so we can buy them.
Feel like it's a hidden market to sell better sleeves in the UK. I literally know 0 places that do them like MoFi. BigFudge do on Amazon but they've been out of stock for months.
I think he ships worldwide, but I am not sure of the cost.
I bought BigFudge 12" inners in the UK. Dreadful, the sleeves are too small. The width seems to be made *exactly* the same size as the record diameter, which leaves no "slack" for the thickness of the record. The record is an interferance fit in the sleeve, difficult to get in and difficult to get out. They went in the bin.
I have now bought some of the Vinyl Storage Solutions 2mil inners featured in the vid. Fantastic, I can only describe putting a record in a VSS inner as "silky". And importing 50 sleeves to the UK was still cheaper than 50 MoFi sleeves.
poundland does led lighting
@@Channel33RPM Cost is pretty good to be fair, with the fact that his inner sleeves are cheaper than mo-fi is still works out cheaper even with shipping, throw in a few packs of outer sleeves and you're golden!
I wish they would restock more often on their Inner Sleeves at VSS. I ordered a bunch of the 4 Mil Dual Pockets and I had to order MFSL inners because VSS have been out of all inner sleeves ever since I found out about them and went to their website. I really want those Crystal Clear inners to go with my Dual Pockets. But, alas, I'll have to keep using MFSL for now. They have the best full range solutions of storage products for vinyl than anyone else out there.
First time watching. Great suggestions.
Thanks Mike
The one thing that I never liked with that style of inner sleeve in general, is that the front (see through) part is too flimsy, not like that back part. I found the diskeeper Ultimate Audiophile Inner Sleeve from sleevecity usa. $29 for 50. They are like having the back of those MoFi sleeves in the front as well. I find it easier to get the vinyl in & out of them. You should check them out.
Sleeve City has good stuff!!! I have ordered from them in the past, but from what I recall shipping was very expensive to Canada. I will have to take another look. Thanks!
@@Channel33RPM that's them only inner sleeve I use. I also purchase the outer sleeves from them as well. It's a shame that they charge so much to ship to Canada. In the US I select Media mail which is around $5 US.
I’d clamp the lamp at the back. At the front it gets in the way of the records.
It's a good idea, but I can't do that with mine, unfortunately ... I have 1x3s fastened across the back of my shelving, which are in turned screwed into the wall. That way my shelves don't budge. As a result, there is no room to clamp the light there. I think that is a good idea for others though. Thanks for the suggestion!
Frank
Congrats Steven.
I have had rice paper sleeves on classical records in the past, and given time they are prone to tear/split. However these new thicker sleeves may be more robust......
I just got into records and I'm curious, do those types of sleeves bunch up and push the jacket outward a little bit when you put the record in? I've only use the poly-lined paper sleeves.
Big Fudge makes good 7” inner rice paper sleeves
I use big fudges 12" rice sleeve.
I want to find good outer sleeves though. Big fudges outer sleeves suck, almost all of them are splitting already
Cool light, but if you have a strobe disc for fine tuning the speed you still need a 60 hz light which led lights I don't think can do.
Definitely -- this does not replace a strobe light. I was referring to the pop-up light on the 1200 - which is not bright enough for me.
I bought 2000 similar sleeves from China. About $670 Canadian. The only downside is that they are a little wrinkled, but doesn't affect them. About 33.5 cents per sleeve. Less than half the cost....
Good price. I sell 1000 for $300 CAD.
@@vinylstoragesolutions177 After tax and shipping, about the same. Mine were ordered from China(Alibaba), but only took a week to get here. Looking at the shipping info, they came from a warehouse in Vancouver....
That's about the going price for the standard 1 mil sleeve. They do the job, I just wanted to give people a little more protection for the same price and a little less crumpling. My 3 mil version is near crumple proof. Thanks for the info!
What is the ikea model for your vinyl shelves I'm looking to upgrade my storage.. thanks man, love the channel
Mine are a mix of Expedit (now discontinued) and Kallax (almost as good, but the frame is a bit thinner). Hope this helps.
Frank
@@Channel33RPM thanks Frank, I now have good reason to checknout the Las Vegas Ikea!
@@DeathPenny Walmart has a 'Better Homes and Gardens' version which is cheaper and they might offer free shipping. Any of the larger versions are prohibitively heavy and cumbersome.
@@markfx12, I've got the H&G shelves too. The price is better than most other shelves of this size. I've got no complaints, they work great for vinyl Storage.
Hey, what do you think about deluxe box editions in general, like what to expect to get at least on those sets? There are of course lp and cd, but what else is nice to be in there. What is your best and worse boxset?
Looks like a nice light but looks big and at $70 Canadian it's way too much for me. I use a floor lamp with a side light which goes over the turntable. Cost me something like $35 at Walmart! Sleeves looks pretty nice. Always like the arrows. I can never find the open end! Thanks for showing.
It is not cheap -- you are right. But is is pretty heavy duty. I like the fact the light is bright and focused. But it is always best to go with what is best for you. Thanks for the comment!
Frank
@@Channel33RPM Actually because of your video I tried using a hand held LED light I had bought at the Dollar Store while I was cleaning some albums today. Wow, could not believe the dust I saw. While $70 is still a lot I now clearly se the value of a bright light when cleaning records. Never knew that until your video. Thanks.
LOL. 45 Audiophile Audio posted a video today (Saturday) about his favorite Vinyl Storage Solutions inner and outer sleeves. Your buddy Mike has been busy.
Makes good marketing sense, for sure. I am not familiar with that channel, but will have to check it outm Cheers!
@@Channel33RPM He's a SERIOUS audiophile record collector in Germany. Big money stuff.
They look great the prices are very affordable. The problem is the shipping price from Canada costs more than the actual product.😔
I bought about 30 audiophile inner sleeves way back in 1980 similar to the MoFi’s it had the cool Kelly’s Stereo Mart logo (you might remember that store chain) they worked fine for decades until I noticed some began breaking and crumbling one actually went to tiny fragments or broke at the slightest bend. My advice for plastic audiophile sleeves is they should be replaced after 3 decades.
Nice sleeves. I see Sabotage remastered is the next Sabbath LP and CD Deluxe to be released on the 11th June. Full concert from 1975 with 13 of the 16 live tracks unreleased to be included plus a 7" single too.
I just pre-ordered the Sabotage set on vinyl! Looking forward to it.
@@Channel33RPM Hoping I can get the Master of Reality album on RSD as it's my fave BS album.
I'm happy to hear Rhino is going to take care of the Black Sabbath problem for you. It makes me more likely to buy their stuff in the future knowing they back it up.
I have to give them credit for the good customer service. I got the replacement record. It is not perfect, but it is better. Just pre-ordered the Sabotage deluxe set!
Frank
Rad!!!! I ordered the sleeves from mike he was nice enough to VCLT me some
Nice bonus!
MoFi with free shipping from Amazon is $26.99 for 50. So $11.99 for 25 and paying for shipping not that much different. The light is cool, I definitely need something. Thanks for sharing
Shipping tends to be the issue with many things. Always good to go with the best deal for ya!
5:36 you are just wrong for that comment. the SHAFT :) :) :) :) just sent my drink out my nose laughing at that description

I got paper sleeves and I aint changin!
Hilarious! I have the same Pac-man mini arcade AND mint tin!
Great minds... You gotta love Pac Man!
VSS stuff is awesome. I can't shut up about them when the topic of sleeves come up
I can see your frustration. You're going to have to resleeve all your records with vinyl storage solutions. It's going to cost you some money. Mike's sleeves are better than any other sleeve on the market.
I liked Diskeeper 2.0 sleeves that don't have the rice paper insert, but they've been unavailable for a while and may be gone for good ☹. I bought some MoFi's and another brand called 'Invest In Vinyl' (about 20% cheaper than Mofi's - also unavailable now ☹), but I may try a pack of the VSS ones next and order some of the 10"ers.
Huh... I didn't know those Diskeeper sleeves were no longer available. I bought some a couple of years back and dug em. Thanks for the comment.
Frank
@@Channel33RPM Last time I looked I couldn't find them anywhere on line. They're still on my Amazon wish list in case they come back again. Hope they do.
@@Channel33RPM Frank, I just found the Diskeeper 2.0 sleeves in stock on Sleeve City's website. Deal is that you have to order 500 of them, and they don't have any store logos. 500 works for me because I have over 2000 records and I've still got paper sleeves in 90% of them. It cost $99 and FedEx was about $16 in the US, so about 23¢ per sleeve. Shipping probably brutal to CA.
It's called the neck, not the shaft. It's an updated version of a gooseneck lamp
Over here in Massachusetts we got 6 inches of snow, so I don’t have to do anything but listen to music! (Along with kiss live at largo 1979) I’ve played 2112 - rush, In Rock - Deep purple, The number of the beast - maiden, and Greta Van fleets new album The Battle at Gardens Gate. What have you been “currently cranking” today or tonight
We had a late season dump of snow here earlier this week as well. It's almost all gone again, thankfully. Hope yours melts quick. Enjoy the tunes! I've been cranking the Smith-Kotzen album.
Hey, Frank. Quick question. I’m thinking about ordering these sleeves from Mike, but I’ve had a bad experience with the very similar Mofi sleeves. I like keeping my records inside the jacket as opposed to keeping them inside the outer sleeve, behind the record. The Mofi sleeves seem a bit too big. In most cases, I have to cram them inside the jackets. I hoping you could tell me me what do you think about Mike’s sleeves in regards to size. Do you think they slip in and out of the sleeve with ease? If so, even in the older jackets? I feel older jackets, from when vinyl was the main music media, are a bit tighter than newer releases. Anyway, I would love to get your feedback on that. What are your go to sleeves for storing the records inside the jacket? Thanks you for your time and hope hearing back from you soon.
Good question. Records seem to fit fine, but I always tuck them behind the jacket (as opposed to in the jacket). I'd droo Mike a note... he always gives an honest response.
I have been using "invest in vinyl" inner and outer sleeves. Started out with the Mo-Fi, but the price was better with Invest in Vinyl
I've also been using those, but the last batch I got are frustrating.....they are so tall that they won't fit in most album jackets.......
@@jeffthrow6892 I haven't run into that issue
@@jeffthrow6892, I've had the same problem with those sleeves, though I really liked them.
They are sometimes too tight for my heavier vinyl, and a few have seam splits already on the bottom from my heavier records.
I ordered Mike's inner sleeves and it's been smooth sailing ever since. 👍
Over the past year, I've purchased a few 2LP releases that were not in the expected gatefold. They came packaged as if they were single disc releases. What are your thoughts on this? Is this a cost cutting measure?
Oh man... I hate it when they do that. Totally skimping on the packaging!
Hi Frank. I had the same scuffed record on Pink Floyd new reissue of Thunder. It was a German made release! Amazon refunded but had to send it back. Wonder how they get scuffed so bad. Goes to your rant back in the day about QC. Cheers Greg
Hi Greg. I have wondered this as well. It's completely unacceptable.
Thanks for watching.

Yaaaa!
I noticed you have non-technics lid on your Technics turntable, could you please show how the hinges were attached to the original hinge area?

Where is the LED light manufactured?
Frank and everyone, the MoFi sleeves ARE. $20 for 50. Elusive Disc is one place that sells them for that price . Turntable Lab, Crutchfield also. FYI.
Thanks for the info. Good deal! I am only really aware of prices in Canada, where 50 Mo-Fi sleeves sell for $32-ish.
I got a led light from amazon usb 3 colour settings and 5 bright settings £10
Nice!!! Sounds like a good deal.
I like the 3 settings on the light but $50? I have an IKEA clip light which I’m sure wasn’t over $10 and works good enough I question my cleaning methods 😛.
Haha, nice! I have a couple IKEA clip on lights as well, but mine are not very bright, or focused.
If that lamp were about 50% smaller that would be better. It's a bit chunky.
How are you getting on with your Bluesound Node 2i, Frank?
I love it!!! I will have a full unboxing/review coming up not this Sunday, but next. Thanks for asking. Do you have one as well?
