Videos shot live on location near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Hudba
The main thing I don't like about having the record on the outside of the jacket is, you don't get to see the back cover art.
Some may take exception to this but I have always felt the vinyl belongs in the jacket (it is there to protect the vinyl), inner sleeve opening facing up and outer clear sleeve facing up. Unless you’re a DJ easy access shouldn’t be an issue, the added steps to remove the record are just part of the ritual of vinyl record listening.
I’ve made adjustments that are based on the protective clear sleeve sliding partially off like Frank showed. You have a good point however as yes that’s the design and process of playing records. Yet it’s okay to see if we can improve as we go. But a point well taken. ☮️
The big exception for me is if I have old jackets that have seam splits/wear. I prefer to have the record outside because I don't want to damage it further.
It can be difficult to get the record in and out, though, and it can cause needless damage to the sleeve
I do it to protect against seam splits and ring wear. I stored my LPs in the jackets until I started noticing rings on the sleeves of records I bought just 5 years ago.
@@antstep1030 oh wow that's a bummer, I'm surprised. It might be due to the pressure of so many on the same shelf too. I thought plastic outer sleeves prevented that.
The main reason I don’t store my record in the original outer sleeve is to reduce ring wear
This is why I wish record covers would open from the top instead of the side. You would be able to use a sleeve, keep the records inside the jacket, and still see the artist/album on the spine when put on the shelf. It just makes so much more sense!
I have a few of such albums ( Stone Flower from Antonio Carlos Jobim f.i. ) . But then you can have situations when pulling it out of the shelf that through friction between the plastic covers ....it slides out ....unless you have high quality plastic covers that are very tight.
I’m kind if a traditionalist. Inner sleeve (Diskeeper 2.0 from Sleeve City) holds the record with the opening on the top and that plus any lyric sheets or custom lyric inner sleeves goes into the outer sleeve. Then the whole package slides into the outer sleeve with the opening on top to prevent the album from slipping out the side on the shelf as you showed. I don’t mind pulling out the jacket to get to the record and storing everything in the jacket protects the whole package, plus I can enjoy the back of the jacket since it’s not being covered by the record. I feel the front and back artwork needs to be enjoyed as a whole.
I use the same sleeve and album protectors. Love sleeve city. The best IMHO.
Totally agree with putting record back in sleeve. The idea of the record being exposed bothered me the first time I saw that method. The first outer plastic I ever used I realized the opening needed to be at the top.
Vinyl Storage Solutions dual pocket is the way to go. I changed all my sleeves including Sleeve City over to VSS. Keeps the jacket and the record separate with both sealed to protect them
My collection is really small.. but when I started to get some interest in vinyls, and bought my first turntable, it appeared that most enthusiasts (like yourself :) ) enjoyed this method, so I tried it and loved it. :)
This is a great idea! Since I’m just beginning my collection, I’m still operating out of boxes so it’s much easier to retrieve albums with the outer sleeve opening at the top. I will take the advice of several here and store the inner album sleeve with the opening on the right. Since my collection is small, this will be an easy new habit to create.
Just ordered the double pocket sleeves and the gatefold sleeves with rice paper inner sleeves for my small collection. Thank you for showing your method of storing the records.
I have the outer sleeves the same way for the same reason with the opening facing up however I keep any special inner sleeve (like with lyrics) inside the cover to protect it. The record goes in a plastic inner sleeve as you have but I turn opening on its side instead of leaving it facing up like the outer sleeve. Dust gets into the record inner sleeve if you leave the opening facing up.
Interesting video Frank. I too had the same issue when storing my record jackets in the sleeves with the open ends matching. Good for convenience to take the vinyl out of the covers but it was a real pain when the sleeves would slip off while sliding them onto the shelves. So I now insert the record jacket in with the open end inside and the outer sleeve opening at the top. It solved the issue perfectly. Great video Frank.
Thanks for explaining your reasoning! At first I thought it made no sense, but then I realized you were preventing the sleeve from slipping, which I hate! Now I'm going to do the same!
So right about sleeve placement. I've switched mine over to the opening on top.
i recently started collecting vinyl and these entertaining videos have helped me a lot to keep my collection in order. I have so far almost exclusively German hip-hop in my collection and own only about 10 albums but it is still a nice hobby to listen to his favorite music :)
I have adopted this method myself, it has made my life so much easier. I have only just started buying records after nearly 40+ years. I have to say with the advent of CD / DVD / Blu-Ray audio one can (With the right equipment) can get a true studio experience. Though buying Bat out of Hell & Bad for Good on LP versus the CD format was satisfying. With the full sized art & lyric sheets in my hands, I feel vary connected to the music.
The major reason records are shipped outside the jacket, especially with used, is to prevent seam splits on the jacket, or keep them from getting worse during transit. As far as how you choose to store your records, that's entirely up to you, It's OK to shelve inside the jackets, and it's OK not to use an outer sleeve around the jacket. Just NEVER use PVC sleeves or album covers, they will destroy your records. The PVC modified to be transparent and flexible will migrate to the surface of the stable PVC LP surface and leave permanent splotches, streaks and "stains" that can not be cleaned away. The PVC sleeves can bubble, wrinkle and glue themself to the jacket. Sometimes a damaged record will play through, but that's rare. Suspect any used record in "plastic" sleeves. If there is a smell of "fruit" or petroleum (VOC's, or volatile organic compounds), then you most likely have PVC. Use only ARCHIVAL types of material. Responsible sellers of LP storage products will state, or respond to an inquiry, that their products are archival quality. I use a record cleaning system (not the same as cleaning for play, maybe once or twice a year deep clean) and replace the inner sleeve at every cleaning with archival paper or non PVC poly products labeled as archival. enjoy the vinyl life
Great video Frank as usual again. I'm beginning to store my records the last way you mentioned. Vinyl Storage Solutions actually had a nice sale on this weekend so I placed another order for more inner and outer sleeves as well as some record dividers. I've been searching for some inexpensive ones for a while now. While these ones are not cheap the sale made them a deal.
Keep on spinning Frank 👍
As I store on shelves versus bins, I like the sleeve opening up top to eliminate the slipping off as you demonstrated. I do like the VSS double
Pocket sleeves for their clarity and the additional pocket. Now I just need to make time to clean and sleeve all of my vinyl. #SetGoals
Cheers Frank im glad someone questioned you on outter sleeve storage , interesting topic. I to store my lps in that fashion. I top load my lps in the outter sleeve just as you do , and the vinyl is stored with the inner sleeve behind the cover as you were demonstrating. Makes life easier with easy access to your lps. Not only protecting cover from wear and tear every time you pull the record out it protects your LP from the dreaded paper sleeves And wring wear i think its the professional way to protect precious record collections
I put my records in the cover/jacket then slide the cover vertically into the outer sleeve. I find it helps keep a lot of dust off my records. Very interesting video Frank. I’m going to give your way a try too. Thanks 🙏
I love the dual pocket sleeves and I put every vinyl I have in them and I keep extras on hand for when I get new ones
Monster tip here, brother. I have been battling the crappy dust cover bunching for quite a while. Great stuff!
Frank because of your channel,I now use the Vinyl storage solution sleeves for my Prince vinyl, they look great👍🇬🇧
Awesome. Glad to hear!
Question: By having the sleeve & record on the rear, have you noticed any ring wear against the front of the record behind it? With this method it sticks out more and then has a circle pressing against a flat cover, versus having the record inside the cover
I have adopted this method for my vinyl collection and it has made my life much easier. It also eliminated bunching on corners which slowed down insertion or if someone else not putting away properly.
At first I wasnt so sure about it.But Now I have switch my vinyl storage method,it now looks better and more easy to get record out.And Showing off diffrent pressings are another benefit.
Easy peazy 🥰 i store mine this this too :) super convenient for listening😀
I remember you addressed this issue many videos ago as I took your recommendation to heart and re-sleeved all of my LPs over time (550+ LPs).
I only used to cover the album cover with a protective cover. Since watching Channel 33 RPM, I copy your method now and use the inner sleeves as well. Particularly good at protecting those inner paper sleeves with the lyrics and notes !! I've learnt plenty from this channel !! thank you !!
Thanks Graham! I'm glad you found value in the vids. Cheers.
I’ve been “top loading” for a few years. I don’t separate the vinyl like you do, but so much easier to slide the LP’s in and out of the shelf. It drove me nuts too!
I use to run into that where my plastic outer sleeve would slide off as you shelve them. I also top load my albums and my double albums as well. This is good advice.
I wanna thank you so much for putting me onto this method of storing records
Glad to be of assistance.
This is totally how I store mine, and it came about the same way. I started with them sleeved to side, but had the same issue with it sliding off. When I changed to the top load method, it made my storage so much better.
I haven't tried the double pocket sleeve yet, but I'm definitely going to look into them now. Just as long as they are polyethylene and not pvc.
I had the exact same issue and came up with the exact same solution. Great video man... been following you since 2015.
2015!!!! Wow!!! Thanks for sticking around!
Thank you for your tips. I’ve learned over time to use the album jacket to store the record while pointing the opening of the inner sleeve upward (not open to the opening of the jacket). Then, as you’ve shown, I outer-sleeve the jacket upward so it is easier to put the whole item in a cubby or a storage box.
It also gives me peace of mind that the inner-sleeved record will not inadvertently slide out while handling the whole unit.
I love the sleeves from VSS....great episode Frank. All the best and be safe.
Thanks, you too!
Keep on spinnin' frank!
Just coming across your video now but I too got sick of the sleeves sliding off and changed to this same sleeves up way. Super convenient for me as well. Cheers!
Your suggestion for putting the album in with the opening at the top is a top priority! I've been doing it that way for years.
I use crates to get that record store flipping feel when I’m looking for something to listen to and I see the art instead of spines on a shelf. Because of how I flip through them and how they have a little bit of a lean in the crates, I keep my records inside the static sleeves inside of the album jacket, to keep the record protected while flipping through them and to also keep the jackets from getting crushed. I just pull the outer sleeve off and put it back on sideways so I can slide the records out of the jacket. Those nice paper backed inner sleeves allow them to slide in and out pretty smoothly
Vinyl Storage Solutions are the best. They are the only ones I use. Thanks Frank!
I do this. Took the time to do all my records. Haven’t had any problems
You got a great system for storing your records Frank. Your records and the jackets got a better chance to be free of things like ring-worm scaring. Those top quality sleeves will avoid paper decay issues that could harm the jacket and record. Unfortunately my own collection isn't as well maintained. A driver behind it was that less plastic and there's more space on the stand so I didn't use outer-jacket sleeves. I do have the same inner sleeves as yours though because they're top notch.
Great video as always Frank. After seeing the sealable dual pocket sleeves from VSS, I have been changing my collection over. He owes you some free product from all the business you threw his way....lol. I haven't seen anything I like for my gatefolds. Thanks for sharing and keep on spinnin....
Oh my god! You just made my day!! Now I have to go home and re-sleve al my records…
Frank you're a genius!! 🙂 I say that because I store all my vinyl the same way as you do 😉
😆
Thanks again Frank for a great video. I learned this from you many months ago. Boy it was a lot of fun taking all my albums and converting them to your method. The only thing I do different is the opening of the inner sleeve, I make sure mine is not up but to the side I guess because a dust. Please keep up the great videos I always look forward to Sunday.
That's a good tip Richard. Thanks for watching!
Storing the record outside of the cover makes one side of the record vulnerable to pressure damage. Why does nobody ever mention this? Records belong INSIDE the cover. If the cover splits, you're not handling the records with care.
Amen to that. I don't understand how people find it difficult to pull a record jacket out of the outer sleeve to remove the record...
The more you handle the sleeve the more wear you put on them.. That is what causes damage no matter how careful you are with them.. And if you store the album protective in the back sleeved you don't hurt the album when stored and you don't get ring wear on the album.. If you leave the album inside the cover and have too much pressure when you store them together you get ring wear.. Storing your records your way is fine if you just listen to your albums and you don't care what the sleeves look like.. But collectors store them the way the video says to protect the records and the sleeves.. Which in turn protects their value.. And you only get pressure damage if you store them too tightly together which you shouldn't do anyway
Agree Todd, get pressure damage the other way..😁,But I do put Japanese and some US pressing behind the cover.
Honestly I find it easier to store the record jacket with the record outside for easier access when listening. I feel like if you store your records correctly without having them pressed tightly together, you’re unlikely to get much wear on the jacket itself if any.
Just don't stuff all your records tightly together? Ringwear and warping is still an issue to your jackets and vinyl regardless if your record is inside or outside the jacket
Thanks for the tip for the dual pocket vinyls sleeves here in Canada 🇨🇦
Will check it out and get some :)
Brilliant!!!
I house mine 'traditional' but with the opening at the top, and use crystal clear Blake sleeves which make the art pop. This solves the slip issue you demonstrated, but I still keep everything inside the LP jacket so that I can see the rear cover without removing the record. I use round botter inner sleeves, but I imagine if I had square bottom ones like yours I would do what you do.
Also wondered about this myself 😁👍
Love that Black Sabbath and Bohren album ❤❤
Vinyl storage solutions products are amazing!
Vinyl Storage solutions are awesome his solutions work perfectly the gatefold is awesome Ive had 2 deliveries now down here in Australia and I can't fault the quality or the service.
I typically put my record back in the sleeve with the outer protective sleeve pointed up. However if it is a 50’s or early 60’s (and some later) sleeve I will store with the record out as those early sleeves are tighter and more susceptible to seam splitting while trying to stuff a record with a latter day inner sleeve.
I adopted the record behind the sleeve since you randomly mentioned it on another video, it’s the best. I store the inner sleeves opening to the side though. I found outer sleeves on german amazon that are big enough to accommodate a two disc album, but i have two three disc albums that i did not find a solution yet.
thumbs up for vinyl copy of Your Filthy Little Mouth in back. I love that record got it on vinyl as well back in my VH/Dave collecting days. You’re braver than me though, I never even picked up Diamond Dave on CD much less that new vinyl that was released.
Thats how ive done my collection, so therefore, you are correct.
Great video Frank. I just order some more sleeves from Vinyl Storage Solutions. I use the dual pocket type. As a matter of fact I just ordered some more. I a pinch, I also have the MoFi outer sleeves also.
I also load it from the top. I keep everything inside the jacket so I can get a visual of the front and back of the album.
According to schoolboy science dust and dirt, the traditional scourge of vinyl records and the very substances we are using a vinyl cover as protection against, will fall vertically, straight into the upwards facing opening and into the pocket now formed by the plastic covering sleeve. Cold, hard fact. Just rotate the vinyl cover on the sleeve 180 degrees from the traditional position (or 90 degrees anti-clockwise from where you have it)and you have, in combination with the jacket spline, an almost hermetic seal that won't slide off when inserting records onto your shelf. Perfect. Granted. you have extra effort to remove the sleeve to access the record but that's cheaper than a gym membership
I've got some like that if they are hard to stuff in sleeve or if the sleeve is split but I prefer it the "normal" way so you can see the track list without pulling the record
Great video. Great points. For Me as long as You Respect Your Vinyl it's all good. Thanks for sharing 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇨🇦🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉🎉💯💯
My mother had a small vinyl collection with all the jacket protectors facing up, like shown here. It sat like that in a box for years (no lid) and dust got into the protective sleeves because of the top opening, and it wasn't just a tiny bit, either. For that reason, I orient all my outer sleeves with the opening on the left.
Aloha Frank,
Thanks for sharing how you use your vinyl protector sleeves And the reasons behind them.
I also do the same that way I don't have ring wear on my jackets & definitely easy access and those rice paper sleeves really are great.
I used to purchase mofi brand sleeves, but I found that Hudson, has their own and they're very inexpensive if you buy them in bulk. I need to check out that double compartment sleeve your showing, as for my outer sleeves used to used 3 mil sleeves not when I can get them I'll buy 4 mil outer sleeves.
Thanks again Frank for another interesting video.
Looking forward to seeing your next video.
Mahalo Ed
Nice! Thanks. You just gave me a new project to kill some hours with. Re-sleeving all my records! 🙏😆
I'll learn this trip from you about 4 years ago and that's how I store all my albums... It does make it super easier! Now I do have about one crate of Records maybe more better not slaved anyway because the covers were beat up anyway because I'm not sure when I keep the albums...lol. Great video Frank
Makes sense, Rod. Not every album needs a sleeve. I have some beat up ones as well.
Hi Frank. Hello from Texas. I do prefer to keep my record inside the sleeve so I can see the back and it protects the record. On really old ones I'll put it on the outside to prevent splitting. I do like your idea of the opening on the top though cuz that does really bug me where it bunches up as you slide it in. For some reason I never thought of that but now that's what I'm going to do. Thanks
Have been enjoying records since the 70’s and never used outer sleeves. I find storage or lack there of or mis-treatment is the biggest cause of wear and tear not lack of an outer sleeve.
Unless you wash your hands everytime you touch the sleeve you are getting oils and dirt from your hands that are wearing on your sleeves.. If you don't collect records and just listen to them or doesn't matter but having the least amount wear to the sleeve is part of the value of the record.. To keep the value you must protect the sleeve
I started buying records over 40+ years ago. I always used a clear outer sleeve. You could only get much thicker sleeves in the old days and they never slid off. They're still available but admittedly at a premium price compared to the very thin ones.
I've never gotten over the personal need to keep the record itself inside the jacket. I'll usually keep lyric sheets and printed inner sleeves inside as well, but if that gives the jacket any stress, I remove those and keep them outside of the jacket. I've dedicated new outer sleeves just to interior items, particularly with multi-record sets.
This may drive some folks crazy, but I also place the record so that you can slide it right out of the jacket without having to move much of the inner protective sleeve. The outer sleeve always points up, so the record doesn't come out until the outer sleeve is removed. I love this because then I can just remove the outer sleeve and put the record on quickly. I also like being able to handle the jackets and read all the details on them. There's something about the tactile experience. I want to know what material they used to make the jackets, because that's sometimes part of the album experience.
Great idea for a video.
Awesome video! I've been sleeving this way for years too Frank, I find it better for the reasons you have mentioned. One other thing I do by habit now is turn the inner sleeve 90 degrees so the opening is to either side preventing dust from settling in the inner sleeve!
Good point on turning the record 90 degrees. I try to do this when I remember, but old habits die hard :)
I put the opening to the outer sleeve on the left-hand side so no dust can get to the jacket or anything else.
I do the same thing.. That way dust doesn't get in from the top 👍
@@BlondeReaganite Exactly.
I've always been a traditionalist when it comes to vinyl storage, having the album and sleeve in the dust jacket with the poly bag opening at the top. I always have enough room in each storage module to get my whole hand in. Packing too tight is never good a thing and having too big of a lean is also a potential warping issue. If you alphabetize it also helps to have spare space available for those inevitable new additions instead of constant shifting. It's good to see that there have been advances like gatefold and oversize poly bags to accommodate double and even triple albums, something that didn't exist when I was a kid just getting into vinyl. 👍
I know other collectors new to the he hobby have started storing their records this way. I’m not crazy about having the record outside the sleeve other than for shipping purposes.
First very informative video I've always stored my records with the vinyl inside and outside protector jacket up where the whole album does not slide out still do I love the double gatefold protector that's awesome by the way need that CJ Ramone album lol
I kind of do it this way too, though I started a while ago only to use gatefold outer sleeves, even for non-gatefold jackets and single record albums. Then the one "pocket" of the gatefold sleeve is used for the jacket, the other for the record and if there's lyrics on the original inner sleeve it goes there as well. Otherwise the original inner sleeve goes back into the jacket empty
Interesting way of doing it. I never thought of this.
Hi there Frank, Greetings from the U.K. What you say in your video makes sense. Also, you should add that your outer album cover doesn't get damaged as much if you put the vinyl behind. I have a lot of old second hand vinyl and have some sleeve's that are a little worn due to age and how previous owners have stored and used them. I try my best to preserve the records that I have, as some are very hard to replace now.
As always, keep up the good work.
I sleeve my records like that too Frank. It cut's down on ring wear of the jacket :)
I like your old way. See my over 2000 records are in crates. Either on 4 desk or on rolling carts that slide under the desk. This way I go through records like you do in record stores. You fan through them. Plus I have dividers between different kinds of music or record labels. It is what works for me
Funny from the day I started using outer plastic sleeves on some stuff I never even thought of matching opening. Alway's put opening at top. I figured less dust could get inside the jacket too. I have quite q few RCA Living Stereo LP's that were my Gramp's that he got when he got RCA's first stereo console. Around 1958. They spent most of their lives in a paper sleeve in the jacket, no outer plastic and the ones that weren't played to death still sound like NEW.
Hi Frank interesting video as always👍. One drawback with your method for me is not being able to see the tracking listings. When you have plenty of albums it can be hard to remember what songs are on each lp. Keep up the great videos
#3!!! Thx Frank
I generally do this. I either use an outer sleeve where I can or need it, otherwise I just leave the shrink wrap, then bung the inner sleeve outside the cover but within the outer sleeve. And I've done this for years and it absolutely saves a few things. It keeps inadvertent scratches down (I also use a vaccum cleaner - an Okki Nokki) and it stop wear and tear on the sleeve.
Basically, I find it to be easy to access and easy to keep things pristine as you can and easily so.
Works for me too!
It's the best way to make a (ring)wears on non-laminated/not-shirinked back cover!
I personally use the duel pockets and those inner sleeves you use for those that aren’t factory sealed and the resealable ones for the factory sealed. So far after years, I have not had any issues with my vinyl collection. It’s beautiful, love touching them and looking at them…oh and of course I love the music on them 🙂🤘
I just started collecting (only have 9 atm) but I immediately started with the dual pockets and I have to say I love it, I'm mostly collecting for me and I want my jackets to stay pristine, so for me they were a no brainer
@@reaperofburgers Hey there, 9, thats ok, we all start from somewhere. I bet they are 9 good ones. Which ones do you have? Wish you all the best in your collecting adventure. I started with a cassette of Deep purple, then my boss gave me his Deep Purple "Machine Head" first press and it went from there, a cassette and an album :)

It’s so crazy you did this video. I’ve been agonizing about storage for a few days now. A month or so ago I took all my records out of the plastic. I got sick of not actually seeing the spines. And it just started looking messy to me. Now I’m not sure I’m ok with them just being naked in there. I’ll be interested to hear your perspective.
Outer Sleeves I have always used with opening no top, never the "traditional" way of opening matching cover opening. I knew from the beginning that was an issue.
I have yet to do the having the disc behind the cover instead of in the cover. For me it is so I can see the back which is usually where the track listings are for when I'm just listening to individual songs rather than a whole album.
Frank, I put my LPs into upgraded inner sleeves if they don't come in them. These go back in the jacket. I want the jacket to provide protection to the LP. I put them in outer sleeves with the opening at the spine. This is the best way I found to keep dust out and not have any issues with the outer sleeve slipping as I insert into it’s shelf spot. All my albums are arranged in the order they are listed in my Discogs database.
Life changing tbh
My record shelves are similar to yours and the outer poly always does that! So annoying! I am going to start storing mine like this with the opening on top, etc. It'll be a fantastic change! Thx!
Great video Frank! I just converted approx. 1,000 records to this way of storage. It took some time but well worth it. Much easier to gain access to the record without pulling the outer sleeve in and out of the poly. As someone mentioned in the comments, it does increase the storage space slightly. I use the sealable sleeves from Clearbags but I'm thinking about upgrading to the dual pocket sleeves from Vinyl Storage Solutions.
Good show I SUBSCRIBED to your channel
hey frank...very informative....i dig the way you keep your album and covers protected...i gotta admit...i just do it old school...album in the jacket..jacket against jacket...no plastic protectors...kinda reminds me of when people used to put plastic over their furniture to protect it...just don't see myself doing that either...but your way is definitely cool...hope the family is well...give sheri my regards...sorry to hear about the bad cold weather...please stay as warm as you can...(maybe put on a channel 33 toque)...my best wishes to all of you...peace...rocky.
Haha, yes!!! My aunt used to put plastic covers over her furniture back in the 70s. And plastic runners all around her carpets. I totally forgot about that!!
Great video frank,I sleeve my records as you do, I’ve seen the gate fold sleeve but didn’t know where to purchase them, but you say they are expensive maybe I’ll buy a few, question, how would I sleeve box sets? Thank You , Steve
I use Mylar for 80% of my records. When you go to slide a record into the shelf, the outer sleeve doesn't slide off. The sleeves (not cheap) are made of polyester and are more rigid than polypropylene/polyethylene. A little tight for gatefolds but I've never damaged any of my jackets. Mylar sleeves allow me to keep the opening on the side and therefore keep my records free of dust particles. Mylar also lets outer album artwork truly shine, it is actually stunning. I've had quality issues with the pricey gatefold sleeves that you discussed in your video and I can't stand the sealable or resealable products, I've had issues with those as well. I've recently tried the MOFI outer sleeves and love them, the value for money is hard to beat.
Always stored my vinyl this way.
The only flaw in your storage is the inner sleeve opening is facing the opening of the outter sleeve. I would suggest at least you put the opening of the innersleve sideway to protect your records from dust wich is the ennemy number one of them and the main goal of an innersleeve.
I'm doing this now for all my records with outer sleeves
Thanks from a newbie
I bought a "bulk lot" of Mo-fi sleeves for my entire collection, use the vertical outer sleeve method and use an anti-friction treatment on my records.
I’ve put my Diamond Dave into a gatefold sleeve with the hype sticker tucked into the inside
