German prop tree is very heavily skewed towards the Bf-109 and Fw-190. I don't think either are great in game. The Fw-190 especially needs to be played with a lot of discipline and in a certain style or you are going to get wrecked. Bf-109 is fine, especially the mid period versions (F4,G2, G6) but I just don't find myself gravitating to them much. Germany has a nice mix of Western and Eastern cold war jets but top tier it's limited to the Mig-29. I much prefer playing props to jets and I think Japan has one of the two best prop tech trees. If you are into jets it also has the F-15 & F-16 with a much shorter journey to getting them than, say, the US tree. The downside is they have about 3 viable aircraft between Rank V and Rank VIII. Shorter journey but less choice. Overall I'd say the US tree is the 'best' one but it's massive and will taken significantly longer to complete.
