Hi everyone!
Hope you had a great week! Excited to share this week's vlog with you. It's been a while since we traveled together, and I've got something special to talk about.
Over the past years I've been lucky to work with brands I love, and Estée Lauder is one of them. I’m now one of their brand ambassadors, and they invited me on a trip to Costa Rica to a place called a blue zone.
Now, you might be wondering, what's a blue zone? A Blue Zone is a special place where lots of people live longer and healthier lives than in other areas. These places have common habits like eating well, staying active, and having strong community connections that contribute to their exceptional longevity.. I'll be exploring these healthy habits in Costa Rica and learning about longevity and skin health.
Lately, I've been really into understanding how to live a longer and healthier life with science involved. With my parents getting older, I've started thinking differently about age and health. There's so much more to it than just keeping your body healthy-it's about your mind, mood, skin, and relationships with yourself and others.
I don’t know what it is but I have been really enjoying longer form content again and taking you along in my experiences, thoughts and journey. I say this often but in a way I feel you guys are my safe space and my weekly therapy session where I can just express what I am going trough.

One of things that I've been working on these past few months is my confidence and feeling more comfortable in my skin. My goal for 2024 is to live in an abundant mindset, which for me is letting go of the things that are holding me back. Every morning I recite a morning mantra and affirmations and I find it's really helping change my mindset. I feel lighter and happier! Thank you for sharing your experience and your own struggles ❤

Costa Rican cuisine is similar to African, Caribbean and Latin American cuisine. We all have rice and beans, beautiful fruit, green and yellow bananas for plantains, codfish, etc.
We were on vacation a few years ago in Canada. The area that we were in was well known for their fishing of codfish. They traded that codfish to islands in the Caribbean for white rum. We loved hearing about how these traditions started.
In our culture we use banana leaves for cooking grated green bananas that are stuffed with olives and pork. They are boiled and served over the holidays. They are labor intensive, so you make about 100 at one sitting.
When I wake up at 3 am because of anxiety, I say my affirmations and prayers of gratitude until I fall asleep.

Over the last 20 years, I have spent most of that time living abroad. Americans who have NEVER left the United States have no idea what the rest of the world is like. The USA doesn't even rank in the top 10 places to live, The USA doesn't rank in the top 10 safest countries. The USA doesn't rank in the top 10 healthiest countries. MOST citizens around the globe would choose to live anywhere BUT the USA. This world has a lot of nice places to live in. Life goes quickly. Enjoy while you can.
