      Lean MrFuzzles Lol, that was an obviouse off-side bro.Brek was behind all the Panama defenders when he recieved the ball form Donavan.

    • @DallasCollector
      @DallasCollector Před 9 lety +2

      Ebeneezer stark I'll teach you offsides since you don't seem to fully comprehend it. When all players are past the final defenders, the only way to be offside is it the player receiving the ball was in front of the guy who last touched it. In this case, Shea was behind Donovan and therefore it was clearly onside.

    • @gosucalime
      @gosucalime Před 9 lety

      ***** Ahaha, now i'm certain you have no idea what you're talking about. Off-side is not determined by the passing players position in relation to the receiving players position. Off side is determined by the receiving players position in relation to the defenders of the opposing team. In other words, it doesn't matter where Shea was in relation to Donovan when he tapped the ball, all that matters is where Shea's was in relation to the Panamanian defender when Donavan tapped the ball. If a player is behind all opposition defenders when his teammate passes the ball, it is off-side. As you can clearly see in 3:06, Shea was behind (closer to the keeper) than all Panamanian defenders. One of the clearest Off-sides in my time

    • @DallasCollector
      @DallasCollector Před 9 lety +7

      Ebeneezer stark If both attacking players are past the last defenseman, the only way Shea could have been offsides was if he was in front of Donovan when he last touched it. But he was not. Had Shea been in front of Donovan, then it is offsides.
      Here is FIFA's official ruling on it. The 6th slide down shows the scenario when both the ball and the player receiving are closer to the opponents goal than the opponents final defender. In this scenario, the Ball dictates the offsides line, no the final defender. Therefore, Shea is onside. Get a clue.

    The game took place in Chicago where Mexicans, Irish, Germans and Italians are the majority of immigrants. In fact, Chicago is the second largest Spanish speaking metropolis in the United States. Seven U.S players are Mexican-Americans who play in the Mexican League. Landon Donovan is also Mexican because he grew up in Southern California and played with the Cal-Heat a team based in Rancho Cucamonga (a Mexican grant land) but however his experience was acquired in Germany, he also played there.

He does have a lot to learn about the game of soccer but did pretty well considering those are the first soccer matches I've heard him call. He has potential. CONCACAF sucks, but it is the mentality and style of play that Klinsy has implemented (going to WIN instead of to NOT lose), and pressure ALL GAME LONG that will give any team a hard time. Love it! You guys, its only offside if you commit a forward pass to a player past thelast defender. Donovan and Shea were both onside for the pass, and Donovans pass woudnt matter because shea was behind him for pass. onside play and goal.

    • @gosucalime
      @gosucalime Před 9 lety

      Cameron Hirtle Are you blind? Shea was behind Panama's last defednder when Donvan tapped the ball, therefor he was offside.

    • @Kushsmoka420
      @Kushsmoka420 Před 9 lety

      Ebeneezer stark It doesn't matter if the whole team is behind that panamanian defense when the ball gets there. All that matters on this play was that he was onsides when the ball was played in and nobody touched it.

    • @gosucalime
      @gosucalime Před 9 lety

      FrankRod626 Donovan clearly touched it. Even according to the commentators

    • @Kushsmoka420
      @Kushsmoka420 Před 9 lety

      Ebeneezer stark At 3:12 the announcer (eric wynalda) clearly says "he whiffed it" meaning he completely missed the ball. But that is irrelevant to the point. Even if he did touch it that doesn't make Shea offsides because SHea is behind Donovan and the ball when Donovan missed the ball. Sheas momentum carried him forward into the path of the ball (which was going in anyways) which is not offsides.

    • @gosucalime
      @gosucalime Před 9 lety

      FrankRod626 What do you mean? If a member of the attacking team asses to a team-mate that is behind the Opposing teams defence, it is off-side. So whether Donavan touched it or not is *entirely relevant and determines off-side*

  • @IlianaGuadalupe
    @IlianaGuadalupe Před 11 lety

    No doubt Torres, Gomez, Corona, and even Bedoya have been a winning factor. Donovan, Brea, Beasley,and Johnson among others are who also makes TEAM. What makes the US team is precisely the discipline, the acknowledgement of one another and the circle they form inside the field. They are scattered all over but mentally they form a circle where their hands and minds interweave with one another. With that attitude and the constant growth in talent, the US is capable of wining a WC... very soon

    It was never offside at any point. Both Donovan and Shea were behind multiple defenders when the pass from Bedoya was played in. Even if it had touched Donovan's shoelace it's still onside because both Donovan and Shea were ahead of the second last defender(goalkeeper was the last defender) at that point. Also Shea was behind Donovan when Donovan whiffed.
    The defenders waving their hands is just a knee-jerk reaction in hopes the asst. ref will bail them out with a horrendous blunder decision.
