Dude... I never thought I would see a Brian Eno reaction... this is surreal! My favourite tracks from that record are St Elmo’a Fire, I’ll Come Running and Sombre Reptiles. But the album Before and After Science by Eno is my favourite and has some of those most incredible compositions/productions from the 70s I’ve heard so far. Thank you for this! I hope to see more Brian Eno and David Bowie in your future uploads.
Agree with all you've said! I was very happily surprised to see this.
St. Elmo’s Fire, home to the worlds greatest guitar solo
this is my favorite album of all time...an incredible artist in transition -I love all the Eno albums with lyrics- Here come the warm jets, Before and after science, Taking tiger mountain and Another green world-I would also include Wrong way up a collab with John Cale and 801 live. I have not listened to much of Eno's ambient music, as I just truly enjoy his imaginative left-field lyrics with the double tracked vocals...absolute gold!!
this song brings tears to my eyes
Same here. It's such a beautiful piece of electronic music, that it almost feels like an "out of body" experience!
Every damn time!
This was David Foster Wallace’s favorite song.. a masterpiece
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Fripp's guitar here makes me weep
I must have been 12 or 13 when someone turned me onto this very album. I still own the vinyl. Eno has some genius stuff.
This song is in the soundtrack of a film I have earmarked to watch, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Brian Eno goes back a long ways in the biz, he must be in his 70s now; well respected as a producer as well as a songwriter. Right up my alley: he's interesting & innovative, and thinks outside the box 🎶
Earmark "The Lovely Bones", too! Peter Jackson got Eno to do the film score...a lot of old favs...
Thanks to reacting to Brian Eno, an extremely important figure in how modern music sounds today, but not many realise it!
That’s it. It’s a track on an ultra cool album called Another Green World ~ from when you just used to put the whole thing on a turntable and lie back …
I first discovered Brian Eno from a Late Night Tale’s album by The Flaming Lips in 2005.
I fell in love with that album and my two favourite songs of all time are The Big Ship and the title track Another Green World.
Makes me happy seeing other people enjoying these songs!
Oh my god! Thank you to whoever recommended this! Looove Brian Eno so much. He's amazing. This album is amazing.
Thanks Dalton (sp?) Brian Eno is involved in anything cool in music, Roxy Music, David Bowie, I thin the Talking heads. He radiates talent.
One of the greatest songs of all time. Reminds me of my Dad without fail. The kind of song you want played at your funeral
One of the things that makes Eno's ambient music so great (especially of this era), is that it is so personal. And the instruments and electronics are analog, which produces a warmer, fuzzier effect. Big Ship always reminds me of the scene in Fellini's Amarcord where the locals have rowed out into the ocean (on a Summer evening) to welcome an ocean liner that is coming to the area. Everyone falls asleep waiting. But fortunately a kid wakes and notices the enormous liner passing right by them and alerts the others. Then they all get tossed around by the big ship's wake. ;)
beautiful sentiment!
Try St Elmo’s Fire from the same album, sounds as fresh as it did over 40 yrs ago!
Teez, if you want to hear another great song from Brian Eno, check out "Baby's On Fire."
My dad loves Brian Eno
And Roxy Music
Your dad has taste. He's probably my age (64).

This track is phenomenal. I don’t think he truly understood what he was listening to
Has an 80’s movie soundtrack feel 😊
Reminds me of the past, when I sat at the keyboard every now and then, stoned.
loved this.
Sounds like it's made for a movie score...& I see from replies that Brian Eno produced it...who is a real master of his craft.
Amazing Tune 👌 very Enjoyable 😊
Brian Eno
Another Green World .
Influenced many.
David Bowie LOW folled this record.
Brian Eno was brought on.
Berlin Trilogy.
Brian Eno is a Genius.
UNDERRATED genius. One of my favorite albums.
Eno is Not underrated by anybody. He is widely acknowledged as a musical genius. Please look up the dictionary meaning of the word "underrated".
Aw man, that frozen look on your face when u says "is that it??"
The sound expanded into matter, displayed a colorful dance, then dissolved as quick as it started.
Great reaction 👍
Soooo, going back a bit and rewatching some old videos and this is inspiring my next round of requests. This channel needs more Eno and more Bowie and I shall provide!! 😊 Also, good observation about the sound being similar to a train. It was!
Try some of Eno's pop songs from about early to mid 70's - Blank Frank, No One Receiving, King's Lead Hat are just a few of his excellent ones.
The Big Ship is the mark of his SOLO ambient music with this album and the other album Discreet Music. He was doing some ambient stuff a little earlier with Robert Fripp.
"everything merges with the night"...
💙💙💙
"Eeno", not, "Enno". His best album.
You saved me writing that.
❤️💛🧡
Thank heaven that I still have all my vinyl records from the 70s and 80s. I don't mind that records get remastered to improve their sound quality, but I do not like the introduction of new elements or the removal of sounds or of songs.
👍❤️👍
I haven't been getting your feed at all Teez
Dude, Eno's four solo albums from the 70s are super influential. Eee No. Like some of the other commenters--Before and After Science--which was recorded on vinyl with one side mellow and the other upbeat, almost punk. Third Uncle, King's Lead Hat. Proto Punk. Taking Tiger Mountain, Here Comes the Warm Jets, Another Green World, and Before and After Science--all worth your time.
Did Eno play with Laurie Anderson?
I wonder... She lived with Lou Reed for a couple of decades and they finally married shortly before Reed died. I know, as you probably do, that Anderson collaborated with Peter Gabriel on a couple of pieces, at the height of his creative powers. But I don't know of anything that Eno might have done with her. It would be a great fit, though.
@@OronOfMontreal I sat at a table with Laurie and Philip Glass at a Lou Reed show! I was feeling ill, and they let me sit. I was so mortified I didn't really enjoy the show. Anyway, I love them all. Did you see her film "Dog?"
Man, that was waaaay too short.
Pronounced EEEEE….no
Thanks
