Lord have mercy when that moment unfolded on screen. I’m in the theater sobbing like I lost my own best friend. Never had the image and sound been so resonate with me. Olivia’s face as she meets her last moments and the one who gave her something to sail away in…the big ship.

Best movie of the 2000s by a wide margin. No big budget, no complicated story, no special effects, no car chase. Pure life. Pure love. A rarity.

This film is epic. This song and final hospital scene always brings me to tears. Young love is so passionate and real when puberty hormones are flowing. I totally relate and miss this rush as a single mom in my 40s. Thank you for sharing.

@Robert Williams That's great. It's pure, raw emotion during a tragic experience, coupled with the perfect soundtrack. Tough guys (and girls) are allowed to cry and should proudly share their emotions. This scene also brought me to Niagara Falls tears during my first viewing. I sobbed for her impending loss, but his last video to her with this song brought a smile to my crying face. It's a beautiful, bitter-sweet flick. On my top-five list.

I share your love and feelings for the movie, however I do not think that they were in love at all, they were very good friends who care deeply about each other and they opened up to each other in a way that they had never opened up to anyone before. I know it seems like romance sometimes because he is a boy and she is a girl, but that is not the main focus. Their friendship is still beautiful, though.

This movie is criminally underrated. It's my favourite coming-of-age film and one of the few films of its genre that is as honest, real, and memorable as it is. Damn, I love it so much!!

Beautiful movie and an astounding soundtrack. If you close your eyes and listen, you might almost feel like you're the entire universe. That's the power of music.

I think the gut punch of this movie for me was that after Rachel was gone, Greg came to realize he barely knew her at all. To me this film was directly asking, are you putting all of yourself into your relationships?
