  • On Oct 8, 2023, I ran the Chicago Marathon. I also got the opportunity to participate in the Age Group World Championship. There are 47k runners from all 50 states and 100+ countries. Weather turns out to be perfect, starting at about 45F/7c and finishing at about 55F/12c.

I ran Chicago 2023 and have been watching a bunch of videos from this race while I run on my treadmill. I came across your video, and to my surprise I saw myself. I am the guy in the red top and blue shorts and the taped up Achilles that’s right in front of you at 15K (~10 min mark of the video). Then later I saw my father in law and my 2 boys cheering out in front of merchandise mart. Sorry your battery ran out before the finish. Great video! I saved it and showed to all of my family and friends! I finished in

Thanks for great video reminding me of my Amsterdam 2 weeks ago. My race fell apart at mile 16 where lack of long runs caught up. Have entered Chicago for 2024🏃🏽‍♂️

How great run you had it was adorable and I THINK YOU are a very fast runner it was a pleasure to watch your video. Congrats to your fastest marathon ever. Inga Dk.

Great video. It really felt like I was in the race.

Really enjoyed watching this and some of your subtitles were really funny. Congrats on a superb time. I dont know how you did it filming and racing at the same time...

  • @yutheman

Thank you for the detailed documenting! Enjoyed seeing this from an Age Group perspective

  • @vignesham4030

    Honest commentary!

I just stumbled upon your channel looking for a United Polaris class review out of LHR to SFO, while trying to book my flights for the 2024 London Marathon. What a coincidence we are fellow master runners from the Bay Area! Your running videos are so inspiring yet daunting to me since I am a slow/ mediocre runner. There’s no way I could ever be close to your impressive speed. All I hope is to stay healthy, happy and enjoy the process.

Geat race! Fantastic pacing. Way to crank out those 22-minute 5ks.

  • @sierranevadatrail

Congratulations on a great run. 45 minutes on the bridge is unacceptable, especially for a well run race like that, but it didn't seem to affect your great time. As someone who finished somewhere in the back, I probably lost some time after being stuck to the ground by lots of previously spilled gatorade :)

  • @RunAndTravelMom

Exactly what You described. I was on your clip 3 times inside the tent 😂

  • @nikolaykumchev9530

I entered Gate 5 around 6:40am, there was no more than 3-4 minute wait at that time. Started race with blue wave 2 at 8am.

  • @dxbuser33

  • @carmonacadet6833

Great run!👏 I was there too running it. Such a nice course! I'm curious, what kind of device do you use to record?🤔 I like the image quality. Great job!👌

I absolutely hate long ques when trying to get to the start area. Race organizers really need to do batter. There is so much else runners need to worry about that getting to the start on time should not be one of them!

  • @CsabaTothMr

I didn't even know about that blue line. Is that Chicago specific, or at other marathon majors there's also this blue line?
