    Awesome little review. Need more like this from regular folk instead of professional tractor workers.

    I have a L4600. I absolutely beat the crap out of it and I can say with a lot of confidence it’s a small tank. Good tractor all around.

    My exact situation. 1969 Leyland tractor. Love the little old tractor but 2 hours work, 3 days maintenance. Thanks guys.

    My wife, and I had the first Kubota tractor imported into the U.S. in 1971. We used it on our Christmas tree farm to rototill, and to haul a spray tank around. Also I used it to haul logs out of the woods when I thinned a eighteen acre parcel on our property. Representitives came clear from Japan once to see how our tractor was holding up, and if we had any suggestions about improving it. As far as the tractor we had no problems with it except the charging system was very bad , and it would not start most of the time. I don't now how many times I draged that tractor up and down the road trying to get it to start. Once it started it was a great tractor.

    Hi Charley and Sarah I have bought an L4600 second hand in Australia. Here, they all come with "industrial" style tires: useless on steep land. Your tires should be 8.3-16 at the front and 14.9-24 at the rear. If that is the case can you be so kind to tell me the size of you rims: it is stamped on it along the outside and powder coated over. To switch my tires from Industrial to Agricultural I need new rims too because industrial tire are much wider . Kubota does NOT want to tell me the size of the rims , but is very happy to sell me the rim for 3x price compared to aftermarket !
    Very capable machine btw!

    Bought my first tractor from Springfield tractor, then a Cub Cadet from out of town in Illinois, then a my next one was from Hendrix Machinery, a M5040 when they came out and still have it. Looking to buy a 3901 so I can easily transport it for working. Great video and awesome tractor. :)

      If you have plans to get one - before that email me - I have a lot of info on what should be done before you even start using it.
      Like reinforcing buckets and grinding joints etcetera. You may save some big money I generally lost on fixing hoses and
      Anyhow before you buy one email to me

    From Australia, Loved your review but I have bad OCD and my heart nearly stopped when you cleaned the oil hose on your dress, LOL.
    Also tractors are dear as poison over here, I have a BX23s cost me $33,000.00 in 2018.

    Don't worry about grease nipples in the the link arms (the arms for lifting stuff at the back 3 point linkage) and the top link just take pin out and lightly grease every now and again they are usually case hardened meaning they have a very hard surface so shouldn't wear much at all I have some over 60 year old and never been greased just about wearing out now

  • @henrysworkshop7477

    Pft 90 hours... We have 600 on one of ours and 1000 on the other, that said they've been around a few years! Great video, I was eyeing up some of your attachments in the catio videos

      Henrys Workshop Wow that's a lot of hours lol yeah we just got ours about a year and a half ago. What models do you have? And thank you. We have the bucket, grapple, forks, auger, and box blade so far.

    • @henrysworkshop7477
      @henrysworkshop7477 Před 9 lety

      We use ours for mowing so they got a lot of hours especially in the summer. We have a New Holland, not sure if theyre about in the states and an Iseki, the Iseki is a smaller dedicated mower with an hydraulic tipper for grass collection, the New Holland is bigger, around 30-35hp if I remember correctly

    • @charleyandsarah
      @charleyandsarah  Před 9 lety

    Just stumbled onto your channel. Very nice stuff.
    Nice tractor, but I don't think 3-point hitch ever has grease fittings, I think that's standard.
    Probably back of the machine, greased will just collect too much dirt.
    Three point hitch bars don't cost that much. I have an old ford 641. I think 2 lower bars cost about $80 pair.
    Good luck!

    Hi - Nice review thanks. Can I ask how much land do you have and are you happy with this size tractor? Would you go bigger or smaller for any reason if you had your choice now?

    • @charleyandsarah
      @charleyandsarah  Před 8 lety +1

      +Jay Pop Thanks Jay. We have about 12 acres, but most of it is heavily wooded... so we only mow about 1/2 acre or so on our old riding lawn mower. Overall we're happy with the size, but there's times when dealing with trees/logs that a bigger tractor would be nice. Like a few months ago we were cleaning up someone's oak tree and there were 8 foot sections 36" diameter and we had to drag those instead of lifting. Good luck with your purchase.

    Listen to Charlie, you don't want a suspension system. With a heavy load in the high lift, you'd experience more sway that would scare the heck out of you. The center of gravity would be constantly changing more than it does now, and that can create a disaster.

    We mow lease roads with a Kubota. Don't ask me what model or horsepower. All I know is that it has a cab on it and the cab is air conditioned. Sorry Charley. I guess you are too strong to be a tractor operator.

    Excuse me for pondering this point...but what in the hell does storage for CZcams recording devices have to do with what a tractor is meant to be used for?? A tractor (no matter the size) is a TOOL...to be used to do WORK...NOT make YT videos from!!!

    • @charleyandsarah
      @charleyandsarah  Před 7 lety +1

      Storage for straps, gloves, sunglasses, bug spray, cell phone, etc would be nice. There is space that could be allotted for storage, and more storage is generally a good thing.

    If you want to get more info or tip on your new Kubota talk to Paul Short. He in my opinion is the KING of Kubota's, he owns & uses two of them. And modify s as needed also. I think you will really like & enjoy his CZcams channel czcams.com/video/IToelgepGRo/video.html
    I will also send him a message about your CZcams channel.
    PS....I likes your review & I subscribed to you a while back.
