    Guess you could use that as a hedge trimmer on steroids LOL. Those mowers are pretty innovative in the different ways you can position it for cutting all sorts of different stuff....gotta have a tractor that can handle it though, that's a lot of weight hanging off the loader, especially when you have it in the offset configuration and mowing overhead...puts a lot of weight off the one side of the tractor.
    Property looks so much better with what you've cleared with that mower already.
    Just ran across your channel and was looking at some of the wood working stuff, have to sub just for the wood working stuff the orange tractor stuff is a great bonus....I just have a Kubota BX2680, lots of stuff it can do but running things like that off the loader ain't one of them LOL.

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  Před rokem +1

      There is a major flaw in this statement. If I pay someone to clear it all then who is going to keep it clear? It’s not like a someone can come in and mulch the place and the next day I’m out there on a riding lawn mower. There is substantial work needed to get the property to a riding lawnmower state and even then the up keep is horrible. Not to mention all the quotes I received for clearing the property were all more than the lane shark.
      You will spend your entire life keeping 90 acres clear with a 4ft wide lane shark. You need to get yourself a high flow Kubota Skidsteer and Mulcher or this is just dumb…. See how comments like this are so unproductive?

      At least it only has around 5hp of power available through that tractors hydraulic system.

    Capacity off cutting thickness

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  Před rokem +1

      3" cutting capacity, however you can take small bits of bigger things. I have cut up to 6" by just driving slowly in and out.

    It would be nice if we could hear it running instead of the music when it’s working on the challenging stuff.

    Why is this better than a brush hog

      It’s not only if you have a skid steer
      I have a Kubota L3800 and my hydraulic flow was not enough for this unit so I went with a rotary cutter (bush hog) 72” and it is a beast

  • @TDiggz
    @TDiggz Před rokem +1

    No way that tractor has enough hydraulic flow to run that thing effectively

    when you buy land then that leads to a trackter and mower or bush hog

    Will a 23 hp tractor run it

  • @knightwalkr
    @knightwalkr Před 28 dny

    A rotary cutter bush hog would have been a ton better than that for that job.
    You back in with it going and if it’s to tall or thick you just keep pulling up and backing into it until it’s all down. It won’t do those big trees but everything you did here is about a 30 minute job at most with a 5 foot rotary

    I know the video is over a year old. But, please remember to raise the deck several feet off the ground before you engage the blades the first time...
    Growing up on a farm, you'll learn that small animals and pets like to get under the deck when it's not being used.

    it only cuts when its moving forward. why do you back up? don't back up. only move forward. you put twice the stain on equiptment by backing up.

    • @Woodbrew
      @Woodbrew  Před 10 měsíci

      It absolutely can cut moving backwards, but I lift it off the cut each time I back up so at most I am taking a very very small cut.

    You need a chainsaw helmet with a face guard. ESPECIALLY when cutting round trees where stuff can ricochet off trees and smack you in the face. Ask me how I know. . .

      I could see that, but they are made to go onto tractors like ours and it’s a beast of a tool
