  • yourcolorstyle.com/blogs/blog... ~ We often see cool undertone skin described as pink, but what if you have pink skin but don't feel like you have cool undertones? The color pink ranges from cool blue-based magenta pink to warm yellow based pinks. If you have warm undertones, you will still have pink in your skin but it may be neutral to warm pinks. And if you have cool undertones, you will have neutral to cool pinks. The neutral pinks are the skin tones that can confuse you because we've been told that pink tones in the skin means cool. Not necessarily true.

    I have rosy cheeks but I definitely have warm undertones. I have a ruddy overtone. The skin on my arms, legs, chest, etc is definitely ivory and has a warm undertone. I have copper tones in my hair and blue-green eyes.

    Trying to find foundation that is warm and rosy is brutal. No one makes it. I often wind up getting a cool foundation bc the warm is too yellow. 😩

    OMG thank you SO MUCH I struggled with this exact problem for months and I am pretty sure now that I am neutral to slightly warm undertoned but definitely not cold ❤️❤️

    Incredibly helpful video!! I’m trying to understand whether I’m warm or cool and what always holds me up is all the pink/red in my skin (Irish background). Now I can see I lean to the peachy warm side of the pink range even though I’m mostly neutral. Makeup counter girls have always tried to put me in cool tones because of the pink in my skin and I turn out looking purple. I’ve always done better choosing peachy pink and nude brownish pinks for lips, and now I know why! Thanks! I love your videos! I learn more with each one I watch.

      I'm Irish background (no English) and all the Irish people I know are warm yellow to yellowy peach undertone. Never seen an Irish pink undertone except in English, or mixed. Are you mixed? We have done our DNA checking and it's consistent with what I said.

    This was helpful. I definitely think I'm warm now. The peach or warm pink colors go much better with my skin, even though I have a weird neutral brownish tone to my fair to light skin.

    I love your updated version how to determine your season btw. Its so much easier to start with light medium dark etc and end with bright vs soft. I found im medium, neutral cool, and I think soft but not sure. So im going to look at both bright and soft and pick from both pallets under those when I look at the chart and decifer it. Im not sure what are my dominate traits but still figuring out and learning!

    Everything in my wardrobe was for warm tones, all my jewellery is gold, all my makeup that flatters me most is warm leaning... And yet because I have pink skin I felt like a fraud! I'm the neutral pink because I have ruddy over tones, but the undertones are ivory/warm. Thank you so much for this analysis.

  • @realSimoneCherie

    That makes sense because I have yellow undertones but I’m hardly warm. All yellow isn’t warm, golden and radiant; so likewise, all pinks aren’t icy and cool

    Thank you! I am pale skinned and look good in hot pink and in peach and coral colors. I felt warm but, because I am so pale, I felt neutral and cool toned just wasn't me. I think now I am really more warm.

    I have wanted my true color analysis for YEARS. and now that I’m gray I’m even MORE confused! I’m either deep autumn or deep winter and I’m always so lost, because I can do blonde, black, or gray. I would LOVE your help!!

    Thank You so much & I really like your videos & presentation style & I have been watching your videos over a span of many years. I remember watching some of your earlier videos when you were a Winter/Cool Undertones. Currently, you are Spring/Warm Undertones. Please share how you went from determining yourself as a Winter to a Spring, from Cool to Warm undertones & your journey in finding your colors that suit you best. I think it would really help so many of us out in our journeys as well.

    Hello, thank you for your explanation. You’ve helped me understand the difference between cool and warm pinks better than any other color analysis video I’ve watched so far. At first glance I look the most like the warm toned woman in the 3rd photo you have grouped together, largely to do with my freckle face. But if I look past my freckles, I think my skin tone leans more cool with lavender pinks, such as the woman in the first photo of the three. I am still not sure if I’m a cool pink or a warm pink, but this should help me get closer to figuring it out.

    Thank you. This is interesting and ties in with something I had observed recently. I am definitely cool pink, there's even a bit of lilac in my skin tone in winter! A member of my family is also pink - but far warmer. I'm not qualified to say whether she is actually full-on warm, or just warmer than I am and in fact neutral. But I am very aware that what you say in this video is true: the word "pink" by itself doesn't tell us much.

    This is such a dilemma! I was always quite pink, blonde hair blue eyes, a bit of rosacea- and wore cool colours. Now that I am in my 50's I am more beigey, the rosacea is gone, my hair is more red/beige and I live in soft earth colours, like rust. It's just weird. I absolutely can't wear white, though I used to very well.

    Hi jen, cool video. I have a question. I have fair skin that most others think is medium fair colored with cool pink. I have tried colours like coral,peach,terracotta and ivory on my face and they are WAY too warm for me. But when I've tried more blush pale pinks on my face, they are more harmonious. I know that ethnicity doesn't matter but I am mixed with Irish, African American, 2 native Americans, Philippine German and French Canadian and to most darker complected full African Americans,some Hispanics( even a few mixed caucasians), I look fair skinned. But I have alot of cool pink in my skin and I was born with red hair and freckles but my hair is now between ash brunette/cool soft black. At one point it turned natural blue/black.my eyes are cool brown with a light grey ring around my irises.I don't know how many other women are like that but could you do a video analysis on different types of fair skin ( regardless of ethnicity) with pink skin? Thanks so much, I also used porcelain coloured press powder. Lol another thing when I've tried to wear dark press,blush or eyeshadow, they wear way too dark. Lol I looked like bozo's sister. I'm a goth in fashion but I love subtle and soft colors ( pastels soft darks and cool colors., lots of grey)

    I have light skin and cool undertones, and I have been researching what colors look best and what to avoid. And I have been reading different views on pastels. What's the verdict on pastels and cool undertones? Yes or No?

    I appreciate all your videos. I just watched "Your Best Shades of Green To Wear". I thought I understood you to say that green is a cool color. On this color wheel, it is in the "warm" category. This is confusing. The color wheels on other videos are different. Which one is correct?

    • @YourColorStyle
      @YourColorStyle  Před rokem +2

      our color wheel has been updated recently. The color wheel in this video is our most current. Green is technically a balanced color and neither cool nor warm. It should straddle both sides of the color wheel. It is an even mix of blue and yellow... cool and warm.

    This made me more aware that I am actually very neutral. I lean, I would say, very slightly cool (blue toned lip stick is much better on me than orange toned of the same general colors). My hair and eyes are warm, and my skin is slightly cool neutral- so I think that still lands me as a soft autumn? Maybe? I dunno y'all 😂

    Hi! I’m struggling to get my undertone right. I have light brown hair (used to be blonde just got darker over time) that seems a tad on the warmer side and medium brown eyes that have a golden hue to them when looked at closely or in the sun with black lines running to the middle from the pupil. Now my skin tone is what confuses me the most. I seem warm compared to a deep winter but cool compared to a warm autumn. My veins are purple-blue-turquoise. I tried using automatic picture analysis with no makeup and neutral background and the same picture can result in deep winter or warm autumn, once in a while I get a bright spring. Please help I’m so confused. If I use an app that only analyses my skin it comes out mostly neutral. I usually only wear cooler Colors like blues, darker turquoise, darker purples. I don’t wear any orange or bright red or yellow.

    Thank you very much for this. I have a question that might help others- does your nipple color help to identify what color season you are? Ie if they are grey in tone or warm? Also i feel like my face [ face esp] and areas that I have redness or tanning throws me off in everything even in bright vs soft. I feel like my face, [ not neck and chest] and arms, can have a grey, plus im not highly contrasted, but my body skin leans more like bright but it im guessing it looks* that way just bc its lighter and doesn't have the redness.
    Thank you so much for every single video you have made. It has been so much fun to watch them and share them with friends.
    I looked in my closet and saw I have no warm clothing lol. Though I have very few colors at all which is why I'm here! Unfortunately now I think I bought the wrong shade of a wedding dress for a formal dress event thats not a wedding. It is a blush. Hope I can make it work lol.
    I really appreciate the photos of the three ppl I feel like my face looks like the center one bc of how she looks more red in her face which sounds weird to say given all you just said.

      For color analysis, we are looking at the colors that flatter your face. I doubt nipple color will tell us much. I've never heard of that. Focus on your face.

    • @MorningClarity

      I thought I was the only person thinking about my nipple color as a data point! I think it must be a good one, similar to lip color, but in my case a little more pale... Untouched by sun, just seems like valuable information.

    How do you turn pictures to black and white to check contrast? I've tried with filters but there are so many different ones. I figured greyscale or bland and white but there is such a big difference between them. Is there another way?

    • @kalashnikova_
      @kalashnikova_ Před rokem

      You can turn down the saturation. Use any editing app like paint or the photo editor on your phone, you will find a bar with contrast somewhere and one with saturation.

      Yeah, that doesn't make sense if what she's saying is that all those colors are pink (2:25ish), then all women can lean pink or peach - just darker tones. But the hues are pink or peach. (Not to gang up on her; it's the information I wanted. But she's arguing with herself.) :)

    • @thyjohnson123
      @thyjohnson123 Před rokem +1

      @@LeighMerrydayPorch exactly I have a salmon undertone which is a red orange undertone I am not peach I am salmon. Sometimes when I have a foundation that is blue red the way that I shifted it over is by adding yellow and any blue in the pink will assist in giving me the muting my dark undertone needs. And I get right to my color.
