- In this video, Havana Cuba 101 For Liveaboard Cruisers Post Pandemic, we get caught in another north front of high winds and have to wait ot out on anchor for 5 days, then we get a lucky break of south east winds and we start moving eastward again towards Havana but end up beating into it for several days until we FINALLY reach Hemmingway Marina in Havana. We cleas in and check out the marina, then meet Steve, an Austrailian living in Cuba who gave us a tour of Havana in his classic Chevrolet car!

In August of 2017 we sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our CZcams sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and my partner Nawal as we navigate the globe. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard full time. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos!

Greetings from Calgary. Always an enjoyable and informative experience without the ** look at how great we are ** of some sailing channels well done looking forward to your next posting.
Thank You for bringing Havana too us. I always dreamed of going there. Never agreed with the governments sanctions against Cuba. Knowing that citizens of Canada and other nations were able to go there.
They will lift the embargo eventually. Change is in the air in Cuba. Covid created food shortage and food shortage usually leads to change.
It is a free country after all with liberty and opportunities for the populace and health care via a queue much like France. My favorite part of Havana is when one goes more than 3 blocks back off the main streets. The video very Penelope.
Cool video. Sloppy Joe's Havana (there's another one in Key West Florida) was in both the Graeme Green novel Our Man in Havana as well as in the movie. (The movie was being filmed before and after the Cuban Revolution with Castro now in power while they finished filming.) And I just learned from Wikipedia that it was closed after a fire in the 1960s until it was renovated and reopened in 2013. Great movie released I think in 1959. A lot is still the same in Havana, but if China is an example it's not going to be around for much longer.
I think Hemingway drank at the Floridita in Havana and Sloppy Joe's in Key West but not the one in Havana.
I really want to see that Missile Crisis display. I was on the other side of that equation as a little kid looking at the newspaper wondering what that big circle drawn around Detroit really meant.
Hasta la Victoria! (We used to say this (Like a dozen years ago) in Los Angeles quoting Che.
Wow, we'll have to find that movie and check it out! I wanted to get closer to the missles with the camera but being a foreigner with a camera around those things could have been an issue for the millitary guards standing right there.
Nice to watch you guys. I'm a Canadian living in Venice Florida. Just started sailing and love it. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures. Can you recommend any others? I currently watch Nahoa from BC.

Hey guys, another great video, Havana looks like a beautiful place to visit, it's easy to imagine It full of activity. We're not sure when you're coming home, but right now Nova Scotia is in the middle of a lockdown, more covid-19 cases then we've ever had. It's pretty scary. Please be safe guys, sending lots of love your way ❤️
We heard this- tell those kids to stop partying! Lol. The US is a lot worse for covid right now but we are being extra careful!
Bienvenido a Cuba , saludos desde la Habana 🇨🇺🤘🙌👍✌️😉⛵
Hey guys do you have any video on the entry of the marina? Just wondering might go as well..also from NS
WOW pool Rum & Cigars what else do you want ?????
Did you see any American flagged boats at Marina Hemingway? I'd like to sail over from Florida & am curious if the current restrictions are being enforced
Sorry but no- American flagged boats are not supposed to visit Cuba right now. We only saw 1 US boat which came in under an emergency and had to envolve the embassy, the uscg and homeland security
Can US boats go to Cuba now?
Not yet.
