Thanks for posting. You showed me how easy this job is. I just did my left and right control arms on my 02 Corolla, manual gearbox. Piece of cake 🍰 On my car there was no need to do any lifting for access, both sides accessible without doing anything extra except lifting the front of the car up

I just did this teacher thank you. First time I ever jacked up an engine. I first replaced the shock strut assembly then I followed your instructions up to minute 16 and I replace the rear bushing. I used a hammer, big screw driver, and a cinder block to pop out the old one. Everything is back on the car. It's dark now and I'm satisfied with how much I did so finish in the morning

added note, if you have a manual transmission 06 corolla you do not have to lift the trans

What a pain just to remove the lower control arm! The Corolla also made it a pain to remove the driver side CV axle too! Some get stuck and there's hardly any space to remove the inner CV joint!

I have a 2006 corolla with 150k miles...since it have that many miles i might as well change the transmision filter and that should clear the Bolt issue for me..but good to know other options. Thanks for the video!

This is a really good video. If you raise the engine with a floor jack, pay attention to the alignment when lowering the engine as the floor jack doesn't go straight up. Than you for clear and concise instructions. Luckily mine wasn't rusty.

Fantastic video, thanks for posting. I need to do this job on the left and right sides of my Corolla because the bushings are split. Do you need to do a wheel alignment after the control arms are replaced? It’s my understanding that the control arm sets the castor and it isn’t adjustable?

Great videos but I just wish you would describe the symptoms or telltale signs more to help us diagnose what parts are bad. Thanks

Whenever you do suspension work aren't you supposed to put under road load then tighten everything up?

TRQ, if one has all the needed tools what would a realistic time frame to complete each side be? Also why do lower control arms need to be replaced and what symptoms indicate the need? Thank you

That is a crusty corolla, I am luck to live in a place where cars don't rust that fast.

2008 automatic Corolla S here. Do you HAVE to lift the engine to fully remove the hard to get to bolt on the driver's side? Will it have enough room to fully loosen and be removed without hoisting the motor? Thanks!

Not a massive deal, but the torque values for the four tranny mount bolts aren't 47 lb•ft. They are 38. But thank you for this video. Helped me out. I am doing the 4 motor mounts while I do this repair to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Do you need to have the the weight of the car on the suspension before tightening? I tightened everything with the wheel off and suspension hanging

Will you need a wheel alignment after you replace both sides? I noticed after doing this that my steering wheel went off to the right side when driving it

drop the sub frame, you dont even need to open hood , also he is very cautious of car that can be driven off a cliff.

Jesus Christ, I just replaced them last week on both sides in 25 minutes. You don't have to do anything to the transmission mount, you can just lower the sub frame a couple inches and use a pry bar to wiggle the transmission just enough to get the bolt out. Try it my way next time.
