Funny that I just found this video, I also sent my p-01 Omega to be milled out, mine by DWS for a HS 507k. It's flush fit with no optics plate, but I'm stuck with that footprint. I just swapped over to using a red dot about 1 month after I bought my Omega.... moth balled it, which I thought I would have to sell it and move away from iron sights, until I found out companies milled it for a optic. Since I've been wanting a Omega for so long, I was really bummed when I finally had to admit my eyes were going and red dots were the way to go. Now I am stoked that I get the best of both worlds! Looking forward to having mine back. Cool that you posted your shooting in competition with yours in the YT shorts btw
Lmao. I still shoot irons and I think everyone needs to learn on them. But the future is red dots. They are imo, superior to irons. Thanks for commenting. Dose DSW save the rear site on the po1? Or do you lose the co witness?
@@FireBoxCampaign DWS keeps the original sights with the HS507K, any larger optic they have to use a plate system. Been using irons since I was young, now that I'm not as young red dots work great.
Good review man. I have a P-01 with CGW trigger job and red aluminum LOK grips, absolute perfection. And T1C does make the best holsters in my opinion.
Thanks for the comment. I've thought about getting the CGW pro work done. Might be something I do in the future. This was my first CC pistol ever and I still have it in my rotation 6 years latter.
I've been into the polymer framed striker fired guns for about 15 years. I just finished my xmacro build. I'm going to do a metal framed cz next. Just trying to decide between a p-01 and an sp01. Thanks for the content
Man, I'm telling you if you're not going to use it for concealed carry, get the Shadow 2. You will not regret it. I compete with my spo1 and it's beautiful. If money is not of concern look into they're Dan Wesson line. Gorgeous guns. 🍻
To get this gun upgraded by CGW, it will cost you $ 1,468.00 including the red dot cut and plate for it. Plus Holosun's dot for $ about $300-370... But the gun is great! Instead of CZ P01 you may want to get CZ Shadow 2 Compact for $ 1,249.99 and run with it!
Holy cow. The omega series is a completely different trigger system. It’s know for being able to be a decocker or safety Owers choice. Omega is generally known as a down grade from the standard trigger especially if they are cajunized.
@@FireBoxCampaign I personally love my p07 and it’s an omega I put a pro kit on it and it’s a pretty desent trigger now I only wish the reset was better
So I have a tier 1 xyphos holster with the tlr7a. If your concerned about if the rail is the same contact tier 1 to confirm. There customer service is top notch.
I’ve got a Legacy P-01 Omega w/TLR-7 holster that takes my AO1-C w/ TLR-7A. It is a great pistol but since it is a custom pistol, holsters are an issue. Thanks for your help!
It's really not hard. Two entirely different platforms, though. If you get the chance, handle both, then decide. If you want something comparable to glock 19, CZ p10c is almost the same gun. Just better.
@@mrdato116p01 in my experience is much better. A pO7 is better then the 01 due to it being polymer and absorbed some recoil. The reduced mass in the slide really does make a difference. Unfortunately, it appears that CZ has discontinued the P-01 Omega. Fortunately, they still make the P-07, a similarly sized hammer fired compact with the Omega trigger. I probably would have gone for the P-01 Omega were it still available.
They will probably re-release it...they had issues of the decocker walking out on the omegas since 2018 and reportedly hadn't completely fixed it since then. Probably pulled the line in order to try and remedy the issue with a redesign
@@FireBoxCampaign Most Definitley they sell a guiderod system! I am sending in a p-07 to get the mcarbo trigger improvements but using DPM for their guide rod.

You really feel the difference from the stock spring as you speed up the fire rate. I really like the system on my P-09 because of the improved "centerspeed" almost makes it feel close to comped with my duty 80+p Fort Scott TUI
I just picked one up last weekend, I love it. Currently I carry a compact pcr, I bought a shadowline compact a few months ago but might just skip over it and carry the shadow 2 compact.
Oh they are out there. Best luck is to find one online. Gun broker or similar platform. Just keep looking. Took me a while to find one let alone win the auction.
If you buy a CZ its best to send it out and have it done right. Out of the box? The grips suck, the sights are trash and Its just not a reliable gun. Meaning there are issues with the slide sticking, the magazines sticking etc. And why spend the better part of $800 and then $300 more to make it right? Just spend the $1100 - $1200 and get a better gun.
I would agree the grips suck. But i may be a little biased I love CZ guns. Never had any of those other issues. Except the grips really do suck. LOK grips. This is the way.
@FireBoxCampaign I only have 2. The 75B has not malfunctioned. The P01 had all of these issues out of the box. So I assume that it is reminiscent of CZ. I have spoken to others with similar issues. And there are YT videos addressing these concerns. I only own 10 handguns, and I am no expert. But the CZ P01 Omega is the only gun I purchased new with so many problems. I regret the purchase, and I will not by anything CZ again. I just expect better for $800.
@Jscot1001 It was $795 on Gunbroker. Which was the same price everyone else had at the time. It was during COVID politics. But even now, I can't find it under $750. Post me a link to it priced at $550. I'd like to see that.
The P-01 has been designated the most reliable handgun and the first to go through and pass NATO testing. It had a malfunction rate about 20% of that to a glock. It's a solid firearm
@bryanhadley8704 Oh, it won an award I guess. 🤣🤣 Mine is a P.O.S and there are numerous complaints online. You can say it's more reliable than a Glock all you want. But the P01 is a finesse gun that needs babied to shoot more than 100 rounds. The fact that it's NATO does not impress me. I have one for sale. It has 4 years left on the warranty. I'll let you have it for $650, and I'll throw in an extra set of grips and a single holster. I'll never trust this gun again.
Best CZ? Bro, its not even the best P01.....the omega is one of the worst pistols CZ ever made, wonder why its discontinued? If it was amazing would they stop making it?
I like all the upgrades you have done but the PO1 Omega I purchased a year ago stock is the best 9mm I own. I don’t use optics because they don’t help me out in fact they make me less effective shooting. It’s strange that my PO1 Omega has 15 rounds mags. Not sure about the 14 round mags but others have stated the same thing so it is a fact that some PO1 mags are 14 OR 15. Everything you just stated about the gun is spot on. Thanks for the review.
Shooting with red dot is definitely different. I shoot fine with either. But find a dot is faster for me. What ever you choose just train and be consistent.
Yeah I get it. There is a part of me that wishes I kept it stock. For a carry gun at least the light so I can identify in low light what my threat actually is.

As far as I know it is their own.
Wonder how it is compared to the new shadow compact

What is that slide cut called? I see the skeleton cut, but that’s more on top of the slide.
There isn't a specific slide cut name. When CGW milled it it was for the holosun/trigicon foot print. The front serrations are "enhanced."
