Finally getting around to painting my Theoden so I thought I would refresh with this video. I love that you say how well-defined his cheekbones are. I can't even make them out with my glasses on. Too old for these tiny minis. 😄

This vid took away all the fear I was feeling for painting my mounted Theoden! What would normally have taken me ages and been a very average job, I finished in a day and was really happy with the result, that is a total win for me :)

Finaly painted my own Theoden (same one as this one), took a lot of inspiration from your work, just used some other colours. Took me around 6 hours, but totaly worth it!

Thanks for the video. Just a tip for you.If a horse has light socks, or light fur, it will also have light hooves corresponding with the areas of the bottom of the legs which are light

Lots of questions as Im just starting out on these things, what is the benefit of a 'wet palette' compared to just using a tray or plate?
So a wet palette stops the paint from drying out and also makes thinning your paints much easier! they're so simple to make just a damp cloth and some baking paper inside a plastic tub then you can seal it and come back to those paints days later :)
That opened shade makes me terrified 😄

Hi, can you recommend Tamiya Flat Clear for all lotr models? Won't they be shiny or something? I was looking for good clear seal for all my lotr armies, both plastic and metal ones. Thanks in advance
Hey Crunchu! It should be fine for all models :) it's a flat spray so it won't be shiny at all, it makes everything matte )

do you leave the model to dry between the different colours you add and if so how long do you leave it?
also, how much would you recommend getting model from GW or another hobby store of some sort compared to acrylics from a regular art store?
@@awesomenesschanel Most of the layers dry pretty quickly a few minutes but sometimes the washes will take about 20min. You don't want to paint with art store paints, get paints specifically designed for painting miniatures :) They've been designed to be applied to small thinkgs so have the right king of physical properties. There are a bunch of great brands out there, Citadel/Games Workshop, Vallejo, P3 and many more :)
Some inaccuracies compared to the Weta design... But It looks great!
Yeah they only cram so much detail on to those little guys haha. Glad you liked it though dude up next I'm going to do elfhelm or some Royal Guard I think.
@@Zorpazorp The pattern on the back of the armor is red not golden for example. And there are golden scales on the lower part of the scale armor. Just to name a few
