Is It Over For The Porsche Taycan?

- They Taycan is a great car, and I'm a huge fan of it. But it's landed on some choppy waters recently.
Could this be the start of the end for Taycan sales as they are now?

I drive a Taycan Sport Turismo RWD for two years and enjoy it. depreciation only affects you when you sell your car after two or three years. Not when you keeping your car !!
Good approach!
Unfortunately you can't keep an EV for a long time.. the batt degrades regardless of usage after some years.. Not the case with a GT4
â@@absolutiumWrong you can kepp you're Ev more than Gt4 or whatever because battery's become cheaper and cheaper from year to year and sometime only need to change some..bad onesđ
@@bestofalllife You cannot replace for cheap a structural component of the vehicle (which by its own is already expensve).. the energycontainer is being designed nowadays to perish with the car..
Replacing a structural part of the vehicle is essentially as costly as getting another one.
First, anyone worried about price or depreciation shouldn't be buying any new car. Everything depreciates. Just enjoy what you have. Think of it like a holiday: you spend 5 to 10k per year and might not have anything tangible in return, but you have happy memories.
Secondly, Porsche needs to maintain high prices to protect its brand. If everyone started driving Taycans like they do Teslas, it would kill the brand. They would become so common that people would no longer find them special. They're expensive for a reason. Essentially, you're paying for the badge, and because they're expensive, driving one feels unique. To me, thatâs a good feeling.
People might switch back to ICE cars for various reasons: lease terms ending, affordability, company car policies, practicality, and more. Personally, I love my Taycan-no regrets. People who hate them tend not to be able to afford them.
Well said đđŸ
Some good points there. They are fantastic cars. I just hope people continue to buy them from new đđ»
We just picked up our â24 Taycan last week. We have wanted an EV for a long time, but as TSLA delivery was so unpredictable we looked at other manufacturers and fell in love with the Taycan. We bought the entry level model and it has everything we need and it was more affordable for us. When we see videos that are so negative for the depreciation, etc. it is disheartening, but hopefully, we will keep it for several years and enjoy every minute of driving it. Thus far, there is no comparison between the beauty and comfort of this car vs. the Model S we almost purchased. Can anyone suggest an aftermarket sunvisor for the windshield? Thanks!
Agree.
No comparison whatsoever with Tesla in terms of production, marketing or even philosophy.
Porsche will not manufacture cars as if they were undistinguishable mass market devices. The content in mechanical hardware - what makes a car a car -, the possibilities of personalization, the quality control, all those are in another league light-years away. You can even choose your color, outside of a scant b&w mini-palette, with assured quality :)
So there we have Porsche's price, not just the brand, it's the whole content, the whole quality and the brand experience - in many ways.
That kind of car is not am investment so I am personally not worried about depreciation. I would if I was planning to keep it for 2 years or less. My Taycan is a beast and I love every second of driving it and would recommend it to everyone.
I am with you on that one! I want to keep mine and I absolutely love it!!!
That's the best strategy. Enjoy the thing.
I have a Taycan and love driving it. Paid sticker price and despite the resale value dropping by 40% in 1 year, I still like the way it rides and drives. Good luck to all.
I love the car and donât care about the depreciation, not an investment for me.
Love my Taycan, can not fault it. Bought it on business and planning to keep it for as long as we can. Insurance cheaper than it was for our EQC
Glad you're enjoying it. As it should be!
I drive my Taycan every Sunday with a latte - just a spirited drive. I came from a 2022 BMW M4 competition convertible. Itâs a BRILLIANT car and a BEAUTIFUL experience. Very proud to own one!!
Great video as always!! Thank you đđŸ
Thanks, and that's what they're for. Enjoying!
78k⏠for a mamba 4S porsche approved is a bargain.
Done this morning. Now waiting for 2 weeks...
Enjoy, good colour!
I think Porsche have got a good strategy for the future legislation, which they are being forced to do. People forget that large premium saloons always depreciated very badly. Look at all the previous BMW 7 series, and S-Class; you were guaranteed to lose more than 50%, and they were offering heavy 5 figure discounts new. Taycans are more expensive, but performance has jumped, so you can go down a model for the same performance, Turbo S to new Turbo for example. EV Macans & Caymans will do a lot better in the market.
They key point is that Porsche know which way the legislation is going, with the ZEV mandate, and 2030/35 rules, manufacturers simply have to sell an ever increasing percentage of EVs, and are already withdrawing allocations for normal ICE models to force dealers to sell EVs. BMW are particularly bad at holding back allocations for performance ICE cars.
The new Taycan is a big jump with 320 mile real-world range, and it has given them a big advantage on the rest of the market. The 330kw charging is miles ahead of competitors.
In some markets like France, the taxes are so high on pure ICE cars, tens of thousands of âŹ, that already some markets demand only hybrid or EV models in 2024.
Look at the price at a ten year old Panamera, people were always wrong if they thought a four-door Porsche saloon car would hold its value well.
For your car, Iâd hand it back at your agreed higher than value price, then just wait until used gen 2 Taycan Turbo fall to the same price - which it will!
Yeah, some great points there as always! It's good to see Porsche at least putting significant effort in to the EV space. Other manufacturers risk being left behind.
All 2nd hand EV cars depreciate because of the rapid increase in EV car quality. It is not different with my 2017 model S I drive currently. I do drive my cars for about 7-9 years so basically I don't care if a car depreciates. I'm looking forward at the delivery of a 2025 Taycan ST turbo early next year.
What do you think the depreciation of petrol and diesel cars will be when governments start to increase fuel prices by 1âŹ/year
Yeah, ICE will start to have its day soon too. Tax & fuel is already creeping up... Good luck with the new ST
I have bought 8 Porscheâs in the past (outright). The Taycan is the last one I will buy new. The depreciation has been horrendous. Once bitten, twice shy. I will though still buy Porscheâs, just not new. Shame really, loved specing them!
Not even Macan EV as new?
Some say as it's an SUV, it might hold its value better as SUVs are in demand. And besides, the basic price is much lower than Taycan.
I have specced a Macan 4 for about ÂŁ84k. It would be my first Porsche :)
@@harmony3138 It is true that the Macan EV will not depreciate to the same extent from new. But I will now keep my Taycan for a couple of years and get a one year old Macan when the time comes. You are in a different position, buy it! Driving a Porsche is second to none and you canât get a second hand Macan EV yet, for obvious reasons! đ
â@@ARBurgess what's been your favourite Porsche?
@@TABonTV Thatâs a very hard one to answer! Loved all of them for different reasons. I still have a Boxster 987/2 that I have had from new (now 15 years old), I call it my go-cart. Itâs a manual 6 cylinder, fantastic to drive around the lanes. The Taycan I also love for different reasons and I drive the most. But I have been toying with the idea of getting a 928 GTS again, my first Porsche, completely different again, the sound of that with a sports exhaust was something to behold!
@@ARBurgess Good for you. I do like a 928 - the headlights always amazed me as a kid!
I am a die-hard Porsche lover and I cherish the Taycan!
I think we should wait a couple of weeks or months to assess the Taycan sales trends in Q2 and Q3.
Anyway, my take on this subject - from Portugal:
1. Depreciation - we know this is normally harder on the saloons and SUVs compared to the 911 and 718. I hear a lot about Taycan depreciation in UK, maybe this is more acute there due to financing cycles and specificities - perhaps the current economic outlook in UK doesn't help either.
In mainland Europe I don't see much difference in depreciation of Taycan vs Panamera (e.g. vf. AutoScout24).
2. Price - indeed the Taycan prices have risen significantly since launch and now with the facelift. However, here in Portugal it still compares quite favourably with the Panamera, maybe due to our tax system.
I think the added content justifies the higher prices of the new Taycan. I would also guess that probably Porsche can raise the price in view of their supply & demand outlook. And perhaps they are trying to protect resale values of 1st gen.
3. Turbo S price - normally this version is not much different from the regular Turbo but the additional kit justifies the extra price. The new Turbo S price is quite high, don't know the equipment in detail, in my view it could have Active Ride as standard which it doesn't.
Here in Portugal the Turbo/Turbo S price gap is larger than Turbo S/Turbo GT, which seems a bit weird.
4. Competition - market wise I find the Taycan is a bit on its own league - just like Porsche generally. Its prices compare well with the likes of BMW or Mercedes, and it is much better value than for example current EV offers from Maserati and possibly future ones from Ferrari. The Plaid is almost just a one-trick horse, much less cohesive and distinctive overall package, it only offers a lot more room for those who must.
Finally, I don't think that the Lotus brand has much traction outside of UK and US right now to make a significant dent on Porsche - even without delving into technical and design details. Also Polestar may be a bit out of its depth. And forget about (other) Chinese brands.
Greetings and keep up the good work!
I'm a proud owner of a Taycan Turbo S MY2020, my wife's has a Cross Turismo MY21 and I'm waiting for a Turbo GT Weissach... Not worried about depreciation. đđ
Not just one, two in the household.
I guess you are wealthy enough to afford such cars, and not worry about depreciation. Good for you :)
But where are you going to use the break-neck speed of a car like Turbo GT Weissach on speed limited roads? Except good for tracking, I guess đ€
Some strong Taycan repping there! đđ»
You might want to get a fighter pilot's G suit for the GT. I tried the facelift Turbo S and it hurts! đ
Bought mine new through my business 4 years ago, big tax incentive to buy. Itâs now got 44k miles and im loving it. I will keep it for long term. Keep going on the configuration and i keep building the same that i have on my drive. The new facelift is not enough to make me change.
I wonder what the next generation of Taycan will bring?
Purchased a 2021 Taycan Turbo S with less than 10k miles for ÂŁ93k. Very high spec, ÂŁ178k new. Thought I had a bargain. 6 months later, sold it due to depreciation and lost ÂŁ30k myself over 4,000 miles!!
Unfortunately the bottom with Taycans at the moment is very low, and I still don't think we've really found it yet.
I drive a Taycan since three years and I am still in love with it (..) the ride, quality, and and and (..) Yes depreciation is a matter, however, not a true concern (..) It will sattle (..)
đđ»đđ»đđ»
Iâve not owned Taycan, but I did drive a Polestar 2 for nearly 2 years. It started off as a salary sacrifice car. A near ÂŁ60k car. I left that job after 9 months and was offered it for ÂŁ40k. Quite a saving, so I bought it. A year later and it was worth only ÂŁ26k. Eeek. All that depreciation pays for a lot of petrol
Roll on to the next car and I was looking to get a used Taycan. But the finance on a used Taycan was so high, I got a brand new M2 instead for the same price. The savings on the finance pays for the petrol
I don't think we've found the market lows for EVs right now in the UK. At least you've got a fun car in the M2 now. Enjoy!
I bought a new 4SST in December 23, got ÂŁ23K dealer discount, claimed all the vat back and 100% year 1 write off. Got a further ÂŁ750 cash towards a charger even though the car comes with a 7kW charger! and then to top it off got the highest trade in value on my trade in car compared to anywhere else. I was probably lucky on timing but for me itâs about buying at the right time and definitely through a business to mitigate the depreciation. Will be interesting to see the deals on the facelift model as I donât believe there will be many takers given the price increases and the (now) inherent depreciation.
Yeah, waiting to see what happens the facelift.
Great days for the 2nd hand market. Turbo S here we come.
Exactly. Plenty of choice too. đđ»
UK tax rules will change from end Mar '25.
This will kill off many new company purchases for the more expensive EVs. Add-in the Taycan 2 price increases, ludicrous service charges for an EV, and together the govt + Porsche appear to be working hard to screw their customers and kill their market.
And you can add to this rocketing insurance.
Oh, and the small matter of depreciation.
I love my 4s CT to drive - fast, handles well, fabulous on the motorway (better than anything else I've been in).
Plus it looks great and the boot is decent enough for my dog or a bike.
But to own, it has to be contrasted with being too big to park in many public spaces (length and width) and the UX / UI is very poor in many areas. Having said that, it was no better in a brand new Macan that I was in last week.
I can live with the terrible efficiency and poor range because I rarely need it for long journeys.
- 6 mile winter work commute is barely over 1m/kwh. Almost doubles in the summer.
- 140 mile drive last week was 3m/khw; which is probably as good as mine will get.
Overall, as a daily driver I'm still on the fence between is it amazing or not good enough.
With the help of current tax rules, I'm leaning towards amazing.
Yeah, that's quite a swing on the m/kW. Surprisingly low in winter for a 4S. They do a lot very well, but they'll need a lot of continual improvement.
Facelift helps with the bigger battery, but they'll need to do more to keep it competitive, especially with regards pricing.
Paid ÂŁ52k for 2021 fully loaded 4S with 13,500 miles on. Do not regret one bit đđ»
Yeah, you got an absolute bargain there. Serious car for the money
What sort of realistic range does it get?
@@FSFNB I live in the city and donât do much motorway - less that 100miles round trip - on average a 90% charge I get about 220-230miles.
Worth noting I came from a very thirsty 3.6ltr Macan Turbo which I got roughly the same but a full tank of fuel cost ÂŁ90-100, Iâm now paying a fraction of that đ
@@Thisismyhandle218 perfect cheers mate. Iâm in a polestar atm and considering a used taycan next as I could afford if around 50k. Ideally wanted the real range to be atleast 250 so that sounds good. Might wait another year to see how the prices drop now theyâve released a refreshed one with better range
When I saw the âDangerous Groundâ in the thumbnail, I thought you might be referring to some of the high repair cost stories from owners who got dents in the metal cover under the car. Thatâs got me slightly concerned that something so small can run up such a huge bill ($7k).
Yeah, seen a few of those reports on the forums. Definitely one to hope you avoid!
Iâm still buying this car used! I actually considering a new one, but donât want to take the hit. Iâm in the US by the way. It seems that the UK depreciation is a little worse!
As a used buy it is incredible value
I have a Taycan Turbo and truly love it. Handling and acceleration is amazing. The car finish is super luxurious and the ride quality is just super smooth. It's a Porsche feel and elegance. I highly recommend this vehicle. In terms of depreciation, all EV vehicles has major depreciation and so it's not only Taycan. But it's worth every penny.
Ride is one of the best things about them!
Hi.
If you buy a Porsche, you buy a Porsche!!!
That's also a strategic point behind the prices!
If you want an affordable car, you can buy a Hyundai EV 6 or EV 9 or a car of the Volkswagen đ series or a Tesla and so on.
If you want something unique with outstanding quality and driving solutions you have to take more money đ” in your hands!
Or let us ask for other reasons. Why do you buy an Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Ferrari or any else high expensive cars?
Because you get exclusivity for the badge! And in Porsches case you get the most individual and innovative car to configure as sportscar with outstanding track experience!
That's what you pay for!
Sure, the time where you buy a Porsche, hold it for 5 years and sell it for double price again is definitely over!
But that's over the market the reality for all cars by now. It's no longer the "invest" to generate more money out of a badge as it was in the 1990s!
To buy a Porsche and to drive it, also as daily, is a unique process and has to be reserved for the people who can pay for it!
So don't worry about your money when buying a supercar! Just feel good to have one and put a smile âș on your face while driving it! Because you know, only a few people do really afford driving a Porsche as it is!
The business buyers are always only interested to show what their "business" is worth, mostly without having the money for real to buy it privately! So they order it only for show and let the people outside pay for it through taxes.
It's okay but not the meaning of the Porsche brand making real special sportscars of joy!
So they got to set the price on high to very high level!
Take care! đ âïž đđŒââïž
Thanks again, it's good to read everyone's thoughts on these cars - for sure they seem to divide opinion quite a bit! Stay safe!
I want to get a convertable sports car with 4 seats. Do you have any recs tab?
What's your budget?
do you want 4 seats that each fit an adult? then I'd saycBentley continental gt, mercedes s63 amg otherwise Porsche 911
The Taycan is the best looking and probably the best EV car on the market. However it is a financial kiss of death. I am in Australia and nobody wants this car. The dealerships do not want to trade one in.
I love mine but you are right
It's a shame to see this as they're a great car - alas taking an absolute battering right now...
I just had a Tesla model s for the weekend and want an EV over the moon the Taycan is priced low definitely getting one
I work for the Green Party we are definitely going for an electric lambo regardless of the cost
Iâve made it goal to get one, thanks for the inspiration. Without financing a lot of business that creates wealth here in the UK and abroad wouldnât get off the wishing phase.
Best of luck!
I have a Taycan GTS 2023, purchased the equivalent of ÂŁ10k below list for a car that was 3mths old fully loaded. Being in Dubai the prices haven't dropped here like elsewhere but is my 5th Porsche and love it for what it is. But have a GT3 for weekends and fun drives as not ready to let go of ICE. But agree Porsche pricing leaves a lot to be desired and a sour taste for anyone buying new.
Hope you're enjoying that GTS!
The EV market across emtbâs or ev cars , anything battery tech is being affected by the rapid growth and development of the new items coming to the market - this ultimately drives pre owned prices down very quickly. I personally drive a 2016 Cayenne S e hybrid sourced pre owned via Porsche main dealer and I love the hybrid set up . The other issue is when in time will ICE only cars also suddenly see their residual values disappear as thereâs no doubt our government will force them off the roads .
Where I live ICE cars will no longer be able to be purchased brand new starting in 2035. Thatâs a tad bit more than 10 years. My guess is that about 10 years after that gasoline (petrol for you Brits) will extremely expensive and have the same difficulty to find as a working non Tesla DC fast charger is today. So in about 20 years total the paradigm of EV vs ICE will be flipped. Right now my daily is a 20 year old MB CLK 320 that probably has at least another 10 years on it. Iâm looking at receiving a once in a lifetime sum of money, and purchasing a new vehicle is one of the things I am considering doing with it. I have about 35 years left with my life expectancy, and thereâs only a handful of manufacturers that have a track record of making vehicles that can last that long as daily driven cars. Porsche is one of those manufacturers. When you combine all those factors together a slightly used Taycan Turbo S or a new Macan Electric seem to be the logical choice. Of course cheaper options are available up front, but once one does the math a Porsche properly taken care of will last as long as three of the cheaper cars for the same aggregate price while also being ten times more enjoyable.
Both great comments there. The death of ICE is going to happen, I just wonder how it will happen - what will be the first thing that starts to become difficult? Expensive fuel? Taxes? Even penalties?
@@TABonTV if you look at the places with the highest fuel prices right now such as Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands you will notice they also have the highest per capita EV ownership. The particular state where I live in the USA has the highest taxes on fuel here, which has caused fuel prices to be 66 percent higher than our national average. My state also has the highest EV ownership in the USA. So the answer your question I think it will be a combination of the two that will then be pushed over the edge when the existing ICE cars (can no longer be purchased new in 2035) that have mechanical malfunctions cannot be repaired due to a lack of replacement parts.
Anyways I appreciate the work you put in to your channel. Good stuff dude. Please keep up the good work.
â@@jawndoekck good insight, I think you're on to something there. Thanks to you too for contributing to the channel! đđ»
People worry way too much about depreciation. Cars have never been an investment. Unless you're buying to either flip or exchange within 2 years just drive it and don't worry about it. If anything this is great news for those who otherwise wound't been able to purchase a Porsche
2nd hand bargain đđ»
I bought a cross tourism 4s through my property company. I actually like the car. Two major problems - horrific depreciation and completely over exaggerated range. Even after the tax benefit it doesnât stack up financially. I wonât be repeating the mistake I made 12 months ago đą
I was saying that in another video, there comes a point where the depreciation is so aggressive it doesn't even work putting it through a business either.
I leased a 2021 RWD new in May 2021. I recently leased a 2024 4S a few weeks ago. While costs and depreciation are a concern, I have found Porsche has offered significant discounts to purchase or lease new. I had no concerns about acquiring a new Taycan. There is no other car that comes close IMV.
Wonderful cars right? Is your 2024 a facelift?
@@TABonTV No, itis a MY24
As a business buyer it will depend on what happens next April with the tax incentives. If they go as they are supposed to it will have to be an amazing deal to get me into another. If not Iâll be looking at moving into the cayenne turbo e-hybrid. Itâs such a great car but it needs to stack up.
Hybrid right now seems to be the right balance. May still be a little too early for full EV, at least here in the UK.

I have had 2 Taycans (base models bit heavily specced). The car is beautiful to look at and to drive when everything is working and therein lies the problem. On many occasions, not all systems worked, not mechanical, but over the air and system issues. What I dont think has been mentioned is the service from Porsche dealerships. Every time I had an issue which did not resolve itself and living in NW London, I would contact both Porsche in Hatfield or Chiswick. In both cases they could normally fit me in about 3 weeks later. Then I would say I needed a hire car, in which case I would be given a slot in about 6-8 weeks. Totally unacceptable; furthermore I do not think the UK service technicians knew how to deal with the car as it was usually an over the air issue and they were at the "mercy" of those dealing with the servers in Germany. The range was also woeful particularly in winter. In the end, I have given up and moved to a Mercedes EQS; totally different but so far reliable and a range of 400+ miles.
Yeah, we had an EQS on the channel and the range was significant!
I don't think it has range of 400+ miles. Per official figures, Mercedes EQS 450 and 580 both have the same size battery (108.4kWh) and both have dual motor set-ups for all-wheel drive. In fact, Mercedes claims thereâs only about a mile difference in the two variantâs ranges: up to 364 miles for the 450; up to 363 miles for the 580.
Yes, Porsche Taycan definitely has lower range, but a comparable Macan 4 SUV with lower 100kWh battery has similar range of 381, and probably a better choice.
The only thing I'm worried about, is how long will the battery last .....i love the car its just will it last 10 years
I think you'll be OK, might degrade a bit but will hopefully still work
Got 1 from new through the business and I wouldnât touch it again
Care to let us know the reason you wouldnât touch it again đ€
@@harmony3138 I donât like the look of the new ones, theyâve really ballsed up with the front end. The range is not as good as it should be considering other cars out there right now. Itâs around 100 miles short. I think Iâd rather buy a 911 and wait for a bigger change in the Taycan before Iâd go back again. The market is now completely saturated which brings down the prestige of the car.
Getting married to hot girl, there is depreciation here too... So just buy your Taycan and dont get a divorce.
Great video on a great car but the financials are mental. Infrastructure a bit âpishâ in uk too. I still canât afford one when itâs ÂŁ60 k for a nice 4 s . Just had a write off of my Audi a4 and always said Iâd go electric . But just canât afford the depreciation. And higher start costs. So ended up getting a 16 plate Tdi a4 ÂŁ35 tax at least 55 mpg and ulez 6 for ÂŁ11000 purchase price
This was an absolute no brainer for me even though Iâd love a taycan 4s in mamba green
Until the financials work youâd be mad to buy one and I reckon Porsche wonât sell any ÂŁ160k turbo s this year
Keep up the good work Tabon
Thanks. Yeah, the more I have to breathe in the charging infrastructure, the more it annoys me. Stations out of service, never getting anywhere near the advertised kW - extortionate costs... List goes on
I am a private buyer. I love my Taycan Turbo CT. Also have a Boxster 4L GTS. I love both of them for different reasons. I will need to keep the Taycan for another 3yrs due to the depreciation and GFV on finance. Would happily buy another if finance allows. Currently that may be a sticky issue with the sums involved. I hope interest rates will come down. But itâs clear residuals will not be what they once were predicted for the Taycan. As you say, new Taycans will be harder to shift because of the finance for a lot of people. Keep up your good videos!
Porsche offer 10.9% APR, whilst VW do it much better at 5%, and it's the same group of companies.
Seems crazy and this doesn't make sense!
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I hope the finances improve over time but part of me thinks this is new normal.
â@@harmony3138 higher margins to uphold. Not a value brand.
The Taycan is a deeply flawed product that woos and infuriates in equal measure!
Positives: looks; acceleration; build quality; cachet, ride.
Negatives: Price; depreciation; range (even after the refresh - the WLPT live in fantasy land); too early in technology curve (far better products in the pipeline); packaging - space/awkward door apertures ; dreadful brakes - the transition from regen to brake disc is poorly managed; abysmal reliability (the senior manager at a major Porsche dealership told me that he was advising his friends not to go near them); finally the environmental absurdity of a 2.3 ton sports saloon!
I have owned 11 Porsches and currently have 3. I have owned two electric cars and have driven the 3 varieties of Taycan - 4S, Turbo S and GTS, so I donât come at this with a prejudicial view.
For those who love their Taycan, thatâs great and it is clearly the right choice for them⊠I was tempted but ended up being deeply disappointed in the product⊠there are over 700 on AutoTrader for a reason!
Some fair points but just for clarification on WLPT...
*What's The Real World Highway Range Of Today's Electric Cars?*
Porsche Taycan tops the chart.
The brakes continue to be my least favourite part of the Taycan.
I'm currently driving a Porsche Macan and really enjoy the car. I would seriously love to own a Taycan, however I just cannot justify or afford the huge depreciation. A hybrid Porsche Taycan would be much better option.
That is available and is known as the Panamera đ
Yeah, as above. Panamera is very similar. Also could go used Taycan.
I have a 2020 Taycan Turbo and am I put off by the loss compared to a 911? Yes. That being said, the performance is remarkable. My last vehicle was a Corvette Z06. I wanted to try an EV. I miss the engine, but none the less, I keep coming back to the performance. I couldn't make the wheels stick to the pavement to save my life with the C7. This thing grabs the road like it's on rails. The acceleration is seamless. I can feel the weight when I push it, but still - ridiculous performance. Would I do it again? I'd probably go with a 911 GTS.
Exactly this. If you put all the prejudice aside, and the fact it's "not cool" to like EVs (daft if you ask me) - you simply cannot ignore the insane performance of these things.
seriously contemplated as a business vehicle considering the steep tax incentives. ultimately the numbers still didn't pan out give the high payments and insurance costs.
It's currently looking the least enticing it ever has - unfortunately
Owning a Taycan after having a 911 has made me realize Porsche will never be able to stop being too 911 focused. It is the main reason I will be moving onto Bentley or Lamborghini after owning 5 Porsches
So why wouldn't you go back to a 911 - assuming you've owned those before the Taycan?
@@TABonTV yes before and itâs because I like the Taycan much more. Itâs a shame that itâs like this for Porsche, itâs only the Porsche/911 fanbase causing it
Spot on ! I will not be renewing my Porsche Taycan 4S lease. I have seen degradation in the battery over the past 2 years and have even had to shut down the heating during winter in order to ensure the round trip, unlike the year before.
The parking sensors are totally inadequate and you need to be virtually stopped for them to work.
Porsche are becoming over confident by increasing their prices and they have to be extremely careful that loyal customers do not go elsewhere.
I am off to Aston Martin which provides better value and quality compared to a Porsche 911 Turbo and dropping the EV.
I also understand that the new Porsche Macan will have the old Taycan technology built-in but have yet to have this verified.
The Macan should be a new platform (PPE) so you'd hope for improvements.
I know what you mean about AM. I'm looking at the price of DB11 V12s right now and thinking hmmm - tempting đ
@@TABonTV Definitely tempting. Your videos are great!
â@@NDCDA62 thanks! đđ»
Availability of finance allows companies to increase prices disproportionately, as the consumer only looks at the, relatively, small increase in monthly payments. This is not a good feature of the market place for the general public, it IS a good way of transferring wealth from the poorer to the richer sectors of society. Big business, ie the rich, realised this and supported the Tory government in the 80s to relax credit controls. Now it is possible to purchase virtually anything on credit. Prices are higher than they would otherwise be and people own less, if you use credit to buy then the property isnât yours. Large numbers of people are now locked into paying out significant proportions of their monthly incomes and, if each âbuyerâ wants to have a new car every two/three years, itâs forever! (Such consumerism isnât good for the planet either, but thatâs another discussion).
The new monthly payment increases aren't very small here, there significant
VW are still passing the emissions' fiddle fines over to the customer.
Sure it's not protecting themselves from getting burned again?
The Taycan is by far the âleast shitâ EV Iâve driven. I still rate a macan or cayenne outside base trim, and any 911 or 718 as being infinitely better to drive. I havenât driven all the variants but quite a lot.
Cayenne just doesn't do it for me at all. Just one of those things.
âLeast shitâ đđ no matter how much you haters/losers talk shit online, the Taycan is now the fastest Porsche EVER. Btw Iâve owned both Macan GTS and Turbo, a Taycan even with the shittiest spec is 2 leagues above any Cayenne or Macan (which is Porscheâs fault anyway)
@@hovanesmarkaryan896 I dunno way back in the day when EVs first came out I had a E92 M3 I used as my daily and I went to test the fastest Tesla. I think this was like 2013 or 2014. I was amazed at how fast the thing was like waaaaaaay faster than the M3 but so boring and when I got back in the M3 to drive home it made me appreciate it so much more. Same with Taycans vs other ICE Porsches for me, but each to his or her own!
There is a great feeling this guy doesnât know what heâs talking about. Going around in circles and tripping over himself while claiming to know better than Porsche. Funny but I donât think heâll get hired.
Just floating a few opinions
