  • Audi A3 ABS light and ABS light on VW Golf, is extremely common which is caused by a faulty ABS pump and module. Failure of this unit will cause the constant illumination of the ABS warning light and will prevent full operation of the emergency braking system, leaving only standard braking in effect.
    Commonly we see an extensive amount of these ABS units sent into us for rebuild for the following fault codes: 01130 - ABS Operation Implausible Signal, 16352 - Control Module Defective and 01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64).
    Common Failure symptoms:
    ABS light on
    ESP light on / traction control light
    No communication to the ABS module
    No ABS assisted braking
    Pump motor constantly running

    I found a power issue on my 09 Jetta. 12v not getting to the abs module because of a bad connection and corrosion in the fuse block under the hood.
    Replaced fuse block, erased codes, 1 week later and all is well.

    being that this seems to be a common failure with the abs module itself,
    isn't it cheaper to disassemble the electronics module from the ABS pump itself and send just the module itself?
    from my understanding the issue in 90% of the times these VAG ABS modules fail is bad soldering joints in the electronics module?
    and lets say i find a new electronics module with the same exact part number as my own faulty one, wouldn't i be able to just swap the faulty module with the new working module? or that would still require re-coding the new electronics module?

    • @PanicAcid
      @PanicAcid Před rokem

      You'd still have to re code it using VCDS or similar.

      Hi. Have you checked the relevant fuses that power the ABS? If these have checked out ok then unfortunatley it will be the ABS that is faulty. If you would like to get your unit re-built then please visit myaccount.ecutesting.com/ to get started. Any further questions please contact our technical support team via email at info@ecutesting.com and they will be happy to assist you. Thanks.

    mine just failed. however if i start the car with brake pedal held, no faults show. Once i release the brake pedal: ABS, brake warning flashes, air bag warning and traction off comes on. I performed a code check of the ABS module and these codes do appear. Looks to me like a short for no brake pedal input inside the module. Checked all fuses side of dashboard and in the engine bay, no defects found.
    What is your turn around time for repair??? Is there a facility in the states????
