I would have wet the outer curved surfaces to aid in bending the boards. I think this would have helped prevent the splitting. Good job though, Matt!

When you finish Duracell, you can invert the shed and lay a new keel and build a new boat!

You have made an awesome shed construction. The frame is cleverly made, saving weight and material. The handy mom is really contributing during parts of this project. That is sweet :) And come to think of it, this ship is HUGE. Our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 DS is tiny in comparison.

Yeah. I finished my boat shed. Mine started life as a metal tube car tent. A harbor freight tarp one. I straightened out the 45° peak to make it into more of a lean to and found some reclaimed barn tin made it into a carport then put it next to my house. So like you don’t get SOAKED while working on the boat. Love your channel and got 2 inspectors making sure to goof on me when I screw up. Thanks
Nails do not make cracks in wood if their tip is slightly blunt. I also have a state of love and hate with my 32ft yacht. You are very good, God give you everything you want.

You could have hosed down the 1x4 and left them damp for a couple days to soften them up but looks great 🎉

I expect you've already thought of it, but drilling a hole at the end of the timber crack can help to stop the split tracking further.
You're going to have a great greenhouse too for the years to come. They also make a great, dry, light and warm, winter work/play/relaxation area, especially for kids 👍 ;-)

A great way to build a shed, your mum is amazing
Scaffold sheeting may be a good choice for the plastic, it is 12 mil and has a matrix of ribbon that makes it strong, and has tie down bands with holes to simplify attachment.
First time I saw those kinds of shed was on G Buehler's site, Years ago. I didn't know the history behind them. Good to know.

when you get a split like that starting drill the end, stops it from continuing.
Also predrilling the 1*4 before nailing will help stop the nailer splitting them
