A lot of people have been messaging me, so I thought I'd put this in the description. McDonalds promo cards are the sole exception to the rarity rule! So if your card has absolutely no symbol, it's most likely a McDonalds promo!

I was checking the values of my Pokémon cards in my binder…and I found a lot of rares, and even more valuable ones! This video was easy for listening, and helped me slot with values!

@@Witkomon I got this pack and all the cards have three knives on it. What makes it even more sketchy is that three of them are 200hp plus and two are 320hp and I got it for 75 cents. I’m pretty sure they are fake can you confirm?
Hmm, yeah unfortunately I'd say that sounds about 99 percent fake. Never heard of a Pokemon card like that, and the HP is usually a dead giveaway. Pretty safe to assume that they are fake, but if you'd like you can DM me a pic on Instagram and I can confirm!
@@Witkomon I don’t use insta, but I found out it was fake I took a risk and ripped the least expensive card and it was fake it was made from a different material and no black crease in the middle of the card.

Gosh, my 7 year old daughter recently started collecting Pokemon because everyone in her class is doing so, and here I am, hooked on it too, although 2 months ago, I didn't know ANYTHING about this thing.

@@vharr3257 I've never sold a Pokemon card(yet). I just sell stuff in general. This video will help me know what collectors are looking for. I provide a service for collectors. There's an item you want but can't find, I locate it, and I get it in your hands.
Just because you re-sell cards doesn't mean you take the joy out of it, or that you aren't a fan. Far from it, really. You keep the hobby alive.
There's a big difference between re-sellers and scalpers. Scalpers are terrible and definitely do take a lot of the joy away from the real fans. Most of them are just in it for the money. But re-sellers, there's nothing wrong with that!

Hm it could be some kind of special promo card. Look up the name of the card and any numbers you see on the bottom (where the set numbers should be). Usually in the eBay description it'll say what the card is.

Great video, I didn't know about anything you've mentioned. I just started collecting cards (Brilliant Stars), and even though ultra rares are 1/7 booster packs, I opened about 11 and I got 5 ultra rares, I guess I'm pretty lucky. I'm still on a loss, opening boosters is definitely not an investment but I love it.

I haven’t actually opened any brilliant stars yet myself, but it looks like an awesome set! There are some cool cards if you are lucky enough to pull them (and yes, you seem like a really lucky person!)
You’re definitely right about the investment part though. It’s hard, but for that reason I try not to care TOO much about the value of the cards. It’s more fun before you realize that you are almost always going to loose money opening stuff haha! But, of course, it’s always exciting when you pull something super valuable!
@@Witkomon For sure, I actually looked up the value of each card and calculated if I could break even in a best case scenario in which I got no duplicates, and you definitely can't, I still went for it though because it seemed really fun, and it really is.
Oh yeah! It definitely is super fun! It's so exciting cracking into those booster packs having no idea what you're gonna get!

@@Witkomon I have a question: what should I do with the TCG Online code cards? I have 52 of them and never used them. I also have this Vstar card and a small, golden-like Pikachu card that I don’t know what to do with.
Well, the purpose of the code cards is to receem them online, so you could do that! Honesty, I don't think many people care for the online game that much though, so I prefer just using them for art! They are the exact size of real pokemon cards, so you can store them somewhere and save them for something.

Im now 18 and When i was younger i bought a lot of Pokémon packs just for fun, i didnt know they had any value. A year ago I was like ‘i wonder If i still have those cards’. Then my mom told me she threw them all away 😢
That made me kinda sad since it was part of my childhood and it was a really big collection.

I have 1st Edition cards of Slowpoke (It’s in a different language as Ramoloss), Ampharos, Meowth, and Rattata. I also have an Ancient Mew card if, that’s worth anything (But it’s worth mentioning). My promo cards are of Flareon, Glaceon, and Blastoise V. The only secret rare card I have at the moment is Flapple VMax 164/163.

When I saw this video, I just remembered had a binder of Pokémon cards from when me and my sister would by a pack every time I visited, and we’d open them together.
From the looks of it, I have a few rare here and there, and 4 promo cards as well. The only extreme one I could really assume I have, is a 112/111 Pikachu card. It’s got a sparkly background behind him, and the little star symbol is gold. ...that’s so cool. ;;

A is common
B is uncommon (I think)
C is rare (I think)
D is ultra rare (I think)

edit: its a legendary card somebody gave me a fake zamazenta for one of my legendaries the sides where taped together and they taped it so much it felt real until i tried breakage

After pulling the $250 Alt Art Giratina V in Lost Origin, I wanted to see what my old childhood cards were worth. I dug them out of storage and found a couple bangers: a Holo Ho-Oh from Neo Revelation that was valued at $400 and a promo Celebi (I think from Pokemon 4Ever) that went for $277...but these prices were for mint condition which mine definitely were not... :(
WOAH that's insane! Even if those cards aren't mint, they're still crazy valuable! Not to mention that Giratina, that's CRAZY luck!
@@Witkomon I'm getting my Giratina graded but I'm debating if I should get the other two graded or not. They're probably like a PSA 3 or 4 in terms of condition. I'm anticipating a PSA 8 or 9 for my Giratina.
Yep that’s exactly right, if YOU think that they are bad condition, PSA will likely grade them even worse lol. In that case, it’s not really worth it unless you just really want to ensure that they are 100% protected in the case.
The Giratina though, that will be awesome! If it’s pack fresh, it should definately grade high! Just look out for the border alignment, or any printing damages etc. the borders alone are enough to bring it from a 10 to a 9 or even 8, and that’s something that’s entirely out of your control!
@@Witkomon I'm thinking about waiting for Ace Grading to become available in the states and send the other two to them. They might not get good numbers there either but Ace Grading is more of a less-serious grading company and they will match the label to the card art and make it look cool
Go for it! It is certainly cheaper, and yeah, the Ace grading slabs look really cool! I imagine that Giratina would make an insanely nice display piece!
The only downside is that with Ace it won't be nearly as good for value as with something like PSA, but at the end of the day it's a hobby! Not all about the money!

I talked about this when I mentioned secret rare cards In the video. Basically the second number is number of cards in the set, and the first number is YOUR specific cards number In the set. So in your case, there are 215 cards in the set (ultra prism is an example of a set), and your card is number 100. This has nothing to do with rarity, unless your card is a secret rare in which it might look like 217/215

I found a trainer card I had back in 2017.
It was one of those full art Lillie cards. It was in Japanese, and they’re selling for around 2500 dollars. My mind was blown, it’s crazy.

Also, you should try and find some of your old cards, some of them may be worth A LOT more then you might think! We’re talking upwards of $100, or even more if they are in good condition. Some cards may even be worth closer to the $1000 range!

I remember the time My friends (boys) were playing outside our classroom and got into a real fight because my other classmate ripped My classmate's rarest card that made them go tot he principal and get detention

It's easy to find good cards at dollar trees. I won't tell the way because I'm not gonna ruin it for myself. But I always get really rare cards from every pack.

Thank you for your video. I'm trying to collect cards for my grandson and with what I learned today makes things easier. I've run across more cards with stars, black,silver and gold. Wow! I dont know much sbout pokemon cards and Im still a beginner collecter after all these years. I checked the prices of my ultra rares and to my surprise I found out that I owned a card worth around 100 dollars (lusamine trainer card ultra prism) that I pulled fairly recently. Wouldnt have found out without your vid, thanks a lot!
